“2 Regent Mews was spacious and clean. Everything you needed was available. The area is very quiet. The only negative was the parking even in late October strugged to find parking close to the accommodation”
“Lovely, spacious, cosy cottage which was nice and clean. Had all the linen, utensils and cleaning products needed so didn't need to bring anything extra. Only minor thing for us was didn't have access to a garden for the kids but that wouldn't stop us from returning as we enjoyed our stay.”
“The Cottage would have benefited from a welcome pack of essentials sponsored by local produce. The dishwasher remained broken from the previous people not emptying this was mentioned prior to our arrival Needs a deep clean behind cupboards dust and cobwebs on the beams Otherwise enjoyed the stay .One mug on arrival chipped unhygienic”
“I use Sykes a lot to book accommodation. Where I think you could improve the customer experience:
1) Have a way via the app to confirm to owner how you want beds set up (where there is a zip lock bed with twin/double option). I’ve found it difficult to share my needs here on a few bookings.
2) Consistent amenity description, mostly bathrooms. A downstairs’loo’/ cloakroom is NOT a bathroom and shouldn’t be summarised as such. It impacts your filter results
3) Quite a lot of dog friendly advertised properties take your money and then just before your trip or on arrival share lots of rules. If there are rules these should be included in the property listing. Some rules might not be feasible for some dogs..
All the above would make it easier to book with confidence and avoid disappointment on arrival.
All the above have impacted me on several bookings. Most recently I chose 1 property over another because it said it had 3 bathrooms (it was more expensive which I was ok with if it had what we needed. On arrival there were only 2 bathrooms and a cloakroom, which really should have led to a partial refund..”
“Stayed at 13 Hillside in Kilkhampton
The property was clean, cosy and warm. There was free Wi-Fi, DVD player and selection of DVDs.
The village of Kilkampton is just a few minutes walk away and has a Co-Op, butchers and a couple of pubs.
Bedding and towels were provided. Bathroom and kitchen were equipped with everything you need. This site is ideally situated for visits to Bude, Clovelly, Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow as well as some lovely beaches. Would recommend this property”
“This was the second time I have stayed at Guisborough Town Hall. It is ideally placed with easy access to long stay car parks, restaurants, and bars. the quality of the property is outstanding. It is incredibly clean and very comfortable (the beds, bedding and pillows are excellent). It is spacious and very well equiped. I will certainly be Booking again and have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.”
“We all had a great weekend here. The stone masons house is just brilliant, I could move in. The decor is lovely and comfy. Each bedroom is luxurious and beds are comfortable. The added bonus of the hot tub and pool table went down well. Great location for a short walk in to Haworth”
“The bungalow was very comfortable, clean and warm. The beds were also comfortable, and towels, etc were provided. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Various places of interest were within easy access, and the village itself was very welcoming. We can recommend the fish and chip shop!
Would like to offer a couple of suggestions. On arriving at the village from a different direction to that given in the instructions, we found it difficult to locate the bungalow owing to the hedge at the front obscuring the bungalow’s name. Possibly a nameplate could be put on the gate? Also easy instructions for using kitchen appliances, eg hob and oven, would be useful.
A happy holiday was had by all. Would thoroughly recommend this bungalow.”
“Absolutely amazing home and the perfect location for what we wanted. It is so peaceful and the host was just amazing. Lovely and clean. We will be back”
“Smithy Cottage in Ambleside (Lake District) was an absolute joy. The facilities were excellent and the layout of cottage was brilliant. Well located within walking distance to the town. Would stay there again. Our only slight concern is the metal spiral staircase which could potentially be an issue for the elderly or physically incapacitated. Otherwise a brilliant cottage with a homely feel. Well done”
“Sykes cottages have one of the best selections of UK cottages and probably the best search facility, making it easy to search for specifics like a dishwasher. We have used them for many years and, on the whole, their cottages have been of a very high standard. The only downside we have experienced is that their customer service has become very impersonal and it is very difficult to get to talk to someone with authority to sort out a problem, if you have one.”
“this cottage was not up to standard was dirty throughout when we arrived we had to clean the settee before we could sit on it itwas covered in dogs hairs 2 blankets were covered in dogs hairs the sausepans were coated with dirt at to scrub them before we could use them floors had not been cleaned covered in dogs hair which we carried into my car food stuck to the kitchen floor at to scrape it up washing machine was dirty had use wire wool to get the door clean also a dogs poo bag left inside one wall had damp down it going into electric plugs which could have caused a fire damp in the bedroom ceiling with the paint peeling of light outside back door not working i have read other guests reviews and they have said the same thing sykes should check this cottage out before you end up on watchdog again”
