“Easy site to use. Plenty of information ahead of stay. Would have been 5 stars if they review and collate instructions from owners. Eg email from Sykes at end of stay mentioned stripping beds etc as instructed by property owner, but there were no instructions from the property owner. Minor point maybe but doesn't require much effort to join things up and get owners to provide information to a standard template.”
“We had a really lively time staying at the cottage with a group of friends. Great location, close to some lovely, shops, cafes and walks. The cottage had everything you need and more. Beautiful bedrooms with a lovely garden.”
“I really enjoyed my stay in the house itself – it’s a lovely, cosy place and was well equipped with everything I needed. The local area is great too, with nice walks nearby and easy access to shops and other amenities.
However, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again due to my experience with the owners, who live on the property, which unfortunately made the stay quite uncomfortable at times. I was not able to leave my dog at the house at all, even briefly to do something like a food shop. This was particularly difficult due to the warm weather, as leaving my dog in the car was not an option.
On one occasion, I noticed the owners checking through the windows to see if the dog had been left alone, which felt unsettling and invasive making me feel like I was being watched for the rest of my stay. On my first day of the holiday had to abandon a food shop midway after receiving a phone call from the owner, who was concerned that my dog had been left alone and insisted he needed to be let out. During this call, it was suggested that I had left the dog for an extended period, which was not the case. The dog had just been on a 4 hour hike before the food shop and refused to leave his bed when I rushed back to take him out for the toilet. When I arrived back to let the dog out, there were also comments l made that suggested I was going to be aggressive with the owner which I found uncomfortable as I was in no way aggressive I just have a northern accent. This incident caused me a lot of distress as I am 6 months pregnant and I thought there was something wrong with my dog due to how the owner acted on the phone and having to rush back the way we did just for there to be nothing wrong.
As a result of these restrictions, I ended up having to eat out for most meals, as I was unable to complete a food shop. There was also an issue at the end of my stay where I was asked to pay £150 for scratches on the table that were already present on arrival.”
“We received such a warm welcome from Jill. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, as we were staying over the Easter weekend it even included Easter eggs!
The Stables is a beautiful property, the care and attention to detail is evident in every room. Immaculately clean and with high quality fixtures and fittings.
So much to do in the local area: Chester Zoo is a 5 minute drive and the X1 bus at the end of the street takes you into straight into Chester or Liverpool.

“We enjoyed our stay at the cottage even though there was a slightly musty smell which was probably due to the old books etc in the cottage. The cottage was clean and bed linen lovely and fresh. Bed was very comfortable. Could do with a bigger fridge freezer. The rugs are a trip hazard, we rolled one of them up out of the way, but on our last morning I tripped over the one at the bottom of the stairs. I straightened it umpteen times through the week. The estate is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. A very quiet peaceful holiday, which was what we needed. The driveway from the road to the house is full of potholes and needs urgent attention to fix them as they could do a lot of damage to a car. The driveway is single track which doesn't help either if you meet a car coming the other way. Overall we enjoyed our time at Longlands. With some updating to the cottages and fixing the entrance road it could be a fantastic place.”
“Myself, my husband and our dog stayed here for a long weekend over Easter. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. On arrival we were greeted by the owner and got to meet their lovely vizsla. The cottage was well stocked with everything you could possible need. The welcome goodies (bread, eggs, milk & coffee) were really appreciated, and there were even some treats for the dog. We would book here again if we were planning a trip to the area.”
“The caravan was extremely well prepared and equipped for a short family stay. It was clean and smelled lovely on arrival and throughout - the bathrooms and kitchen area were particularly well provisioned. There were a fantastic range of toys, games, books and DVDs for the whole family and the children particularly loved having the novelty of a DVD player in their bedroom! The patio and garden areas were also excellent and offered a lovely outdoor area for us to enjoy and relax in. Altogether a fantastic stay on a quiet and pleasant holiday park. Thank you Allan!”
“Location: Very convenient; it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go.
Cleanliness: Good.
Facilities: The blind in one of the bedrooms was broken. The owner offered to fix it immediately, but we preferred not to be disturbed during our stay and asked to reschedule the repair for after our departure.
Toilets & Showers: The downstairs toilet flush was temperamental and difficult to use. Similarly, the upstairs shower switch was very stiff and hard to turn on and off.
Heating: The heating was off when we arrived at 9:00 PM. However, after we contacted the owner, she was able to turn it on remotely for us.
Parking: The driveway is quite narrow. Since we had a rental car, we chose to park further up the street to avoid any risks, though no parking permit was provided.
Duvets: no extra duvets were provided as it was very cold on the first night.
Overall, it is a lovely house, and we were happy with our stay. However, the duvets, parking, toilet flush, and shower switch could be more user-friendly."”

“We stayed at Berlin house right in the heart of Tenby. The accommodation was perfect the best so far that we stayed. A nice comfortable living room, a large kitchen and nice comfortable bedrooms. Also each bedroom had their own bathroom which was a big plus as there was no one waiting for somebody to finish. It has a nice roof terrace which is nice to sit at the table and relax in nice weather and it’s all so convenient for the town and the beach. All in all a brilliant holiday”
