“The whole online purchase experience was excellent. I found it difficult to find information on installation for customers with existing installations of Sonarworks before the upgrade. After installation of the Virtual Monitoring component, Sonarworks would not work. I had to uninstall it completely and reinstall from scratch with the new installation file which included the Virtual Monitoring component. Switching between an audio interface and Windows drivers is not seamless. Sometimes when software such as Chrome is already open and I switch audio drivers through Sonarworks in the left outputs menu it causes the audio to stop working. I need to stop the Sonarworks service and reload it, or restart the computer. When I try and restart the playback engine from the Sonarworks interface it doesn't respond. I click but there is no indication that I clicked and then no response. Apart from that the new Virtual Monitoring is a handy new addition. A bit expensive for an add-on with just an extra 3 options: Near Field, Mid Field and Far Field - but useful when on the go. There was no discount for customers upgrading to the feature. It's standard practice for most major plugin companies to offer discount upgrades for existing customers. However, I do understand you have a limited product range and therefore limited revenue streams so I'm happy to pay a bit extra to support as the products are great. Best, Dimitrios”

“for the longest time i couldn't find my activation key but honestly it could have been my fault, either way i got it working now and its great! especially since i don't have the space for my big monitors and my main headphones broke recently.”

“Upgrade process was pretty easy, though there were a few verification steps that doubled back on each other on the website and link when you install the software. That part seemed confusing and unnecessary. Overall the new software is great. Running as DAW only plug in def a good improvement to my workflow. My only gripe is that the option whether to open software in DAW only or upon reboot of computer should be a pop up option immediately upon opening the app. I get it, do you want us to use the app, but most of us are professionals, and I think it’s appropriate you treat us as such. We know what we’re looking for and if we want to have that open on start up, we would be very happy to do so. Any that’s my only very minor complaint. I installed this fresh on a new machine so the new version is the only item that appears in my plug in list. I was told that it would overwrite the old version so when I upgraded on my older machine I now have BOTH versions appearing in my plug ins lists. I’ll have to get with support and figure out how to deal with that but just be aware of this. Had I done this again I’d do a complete uninstall and a fresh install to avoid this.”

“Finding the information I was looking for was fairly easy, finding the specifics about what the SoundID programs did, how much they cost, and their additional features. It took a little bit of exploration in the program to get it properly configured, if there was a manual or a startup guide I wasn’t aware of it. Definitely check and see if your headphones are supported before purchasing, they have most major sets of critical listening headphones but not as many from lesser known brands like Meze and V-Moda.”

“When Sonarworks is working it is really good. I pupa new computer, I went from windows to Mac and it has been like pulling teeth to get it to work. Can’t seem to get the right help. Also I have a pair of Sony 7506’s and a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 pro and the eq correction given is the same.”

“Die Balance zwischen dem Kommerziellen und Technisch-Kreativen geht eindeutig in Richtung des Profits. Obwohl die Produkte sehr interessant sind, viele Interessenten wenden sich von dem Erwerb ab (persönlich kenne ich welche). Service ist auf sehr hohem Niveau. Man bemüht sich immer eine Abhilfe bzw. eine Lösung zu finden. Eine Empfehlung? Bitte finden sie eine Lösung um SounIDReference-Korrektur auch in älteren (zB. RME Hammerfall-Multiface) Audio-Interfaces zu integrieren. Ansonsten wünsche ich Euch viel Glück, Spaß an der Arbeit und bleiben Sie erhalten. Schöne Grüße.”

“Martin was great at helping me upgrade from Reference 4 to Sound ID Reference and it was a detailed smooth process. I had a few issues in understanding some of the program and how it worked so I reached out to Support and both Martin and Karlis were prompt in replying with easy to understand clear and detailed answers..Very happy with the respomses. Sometimes it was hard to find information that I needed so had to go to Youtbe to get some answers. Although there was a lot of relevant information on Sonarworks website it would be great if there was also a seperate 'How To' section. Overall I was very pleased. Thank you!”

“I have 2 headphones: Sony cd st-900 - Very Nice Rebalancing Ath M70x - I just find this Balance measurement difficult for mixing the lows particularly in the bass instruments..Please recalibrate. Thanks! All in all good product🙂👍🏽”

“Sonarworks is awesome! It completely changed the way I mix. I can make informed decisions and be sure that my mixes are going to translate well across multiple environments. The only suggestion I’d make is to include the Virtual Monitoring add-on with the main software. It doesn’t make sense to have to pay extra for it, especially in 2024 with multiple companies offering quality virtual mixing environments for much less. It would definitely put you in a better competitive position if you offered AT LEAST one good virtual studio room for free with the main software. Other than that, keep up the great work! :)”

“Due to the limitations of my studio, opting for headphones was the best current choice. I knew I needed to do what I could to support my monitoring being that it’ll currently be mainly from headphones. Reference ID supports this very easily. It simply does what I need it to do. I’m sure there are much more sophisticated ways to use the technology too which I look forward to exploring when I become more adept. The support centre is also very responsive to questions. Big ups!”

“I like the software and use for room correction, so I have a better sounding expirence and can make better mixing decision. I had trouble because I had to update to reference because the newest Mac OS wasn't able to start Sonarworks 4. That's a bummer, but it works for its purposes.”
