“I received the trolley and needed assistance to attach the wheels. As usual the lid will not stay in place. With this particular trolley the wheels stop turning in the super market, insufficient friction between the wheels and floor surface.”

“Older folk might feel a bit dubious about ordering on-line but my experience with shopping trolleysdirect was excellent. Delivered within 3 days the Lifemax shopping trolley with seat is exactly what I hoped it would be. Roomy, cheerful striped colours for a dull day and a good sized zipped purse compartment. Wheels clipped on easily. Very pleased indeed.”

“Shopping Trolley (ST), which one should you (not) buy? WHO SHOULD BUY A ST? Earlier I thought elderly or people with a handicap. Now I think EVERYBODY. WHY? Because most of us don’t move enough, and we should rather walk to the shops more often than using the car. It looks actually odd when one carries heavy shopping bags and it is not really healthy either. WHICH NOT? You can buy STs for ~ £9.99 or so, but you get what you pay for: Cheaply designed trolley and bags with usually too short handles (can’t be adjusted to body height), too small wheels and a bit ugly. These trolleys run always in your heals and at little steps or even stones the ST even topples over. It seems the designers were not yet asked or the producers refuse to use their own products. Yes, using them makes you look “elderly”. WHICH? Because of accident I can’t use my left hand for months and I can’t drive my car. I had to make a decision after I used one of the cheap category for a few weeks. So I know what I’m talking about. Then I checked the internet and found also a few well designed STs. I’m just 6 feet tall but the cheap ones seem to be built for 5 feet or smaller people. I wanted one with an adjustable handle and one with large wheels, not a toy again. At the internet (Shoppig Trolleys Direct) I found: Secc Knokke Heavy Duty Shopping Trolley Adjustable Handle and Large Wide Wheels. The wheels are 26 cm in diameter and 6 cm wide! They work on stairs, rough pavement and probably wet snow; in short like a 4 by 4. The handle can be adjusted to everybody’s height. The bag is rainproof and large, and one can hang the ST on the supermarket trolley whilst shopping. In addition, you can do some modest jogging with this Knokke (it’s Dutch but easy to get via eBay in UK) and it runs always nicely and smoothly behind you. Perfect for me and it is an eye catcher as the whole ST looks good and is sturdy built. I’m sure it will do me years. Of course it has a higher price tag. I would have liked it below the £100, but if you think it would be the money you just spent on a night out, it is OK-ish. More competition in this market might bring the price down a bit. The only thing I’d improve is to extend the rubber handle over the edges as I hold the trolley often in the corner, especially when jogging or running after the bus! The bag is well designed; I would just add a couple of little plastic locks like on rucksacks or 2 large push buttons as the little Velcro on the top is a bit small. Anyhow this ST wins by miles against all competition. LuBu”
