Initially had a problem with the scalpel and emailed the company to sort it out but had no success. Ended up getting one from local shop worked better . I found the foam fairly easy to cut but my problem came when trying to remove the piece that I had cut round . Trying to get my fingers in and pull back the foam I struggled in the end I used a wide blade screwdriver then used the spinner set to finish off

Not going to say I found it easy. Struggled a bit peeling the foam out to a good level layer for my thermal binoculars. In the end I cut all the way through and put a 2nd sheet under the 1st. Also won't let me add a photo ?

I'm a fan of the product and the YouTube channel. But since I ordered 1 product, so far I've received 10 different emails, bit of a joke TBH and would deter me from ordering again.

Not as good as I was expecting. Also a bit pricey for what it is sorry 😞

Your product is exceptional but extremely overpriced for its simplicity. Also, the shipping information that tracks the delivery is odd and difficult to understand “for us yanks” in the USA!

I never got it! It seemed to be delivered to somewhere totally different. I sent an email to the shipper but no reply.

Hi James Apologies we never got an email from you about not receiving your sample. On checking though it's still on it's way to you, but is now in the USA so should be with you any time. We will email you the tracking information so you can check it's progress from there, once received if you could update your review accordingly, that would be great thanks! All the best

Very quick service, marked down because looking at it, it appears that the foam should eel apart easily at each layer but this doesn’t happen. It’s as if the layers a glued too strongly to come apart neatly so it might as well be one big piece of foam

Hi Laura, We have had no correspondence with you regarding this issue. We are getting the missing cutting kit sent to you now. Please can you revise your review once you receive it? Kind regards The Shadow Foam Team

Product is excellent but in my opinion very overpriced for what they are. Some much better offers on multiple purchases would improve the offering in my opinion, not just a cheap accessory offered as a bonus buy

Felt a tad pricy at £30 for a couple of bits of foam cut to the size of a Helfords toolbox but as the idea came from one of their YouTube videos fair enough. Took two weeks to arrive from ordering and was sent by Parcel Farce 24 so also felt that I'd overpaid for the delivery (no tracking info, random delivery day, time and if you were not to get to the door in time my local driver won't leave a card). Evri is cheaper and more reliable in these parts.

Hi Paul Thanks so much for your feedback, and for your assurance you absolutely haven't paid anything for shipping as we offer free UK shipping on all our orders. Worryingly though we did email you tracking information when we shipped your order, sorry you didn't see that, it may be worth checking your spam or junk folders in case it dropped in there. To address your point on lead time, we do try and make it clear on the website that despatch time for certain items is longer than others as we often manufacture to order. In this case, you purchased a product with a 5-7 working day manufacture time and we shipped it out a day late due to seasonal demand for which I do apologise. But otherwise, hope you enjoy getting your Halfords modular system organised with the product, and thanks again for your feedback. All the best, Team Shadow Foam

The Shadow Foam concept should make for a great product but reality did not meet expectations.

Good product but I feel it is expensive for what it is, I purchased 2 x DS150 Dewalt inserts £30.00. The DS150 Dewalt case only cost me £21.00 so it seems expensive for the foam insert.

So it turned up within time, I ordered 2x 50mm thick dewalt inserts, both are only 40mm thick, so doesn't have the depth needed to hold my multi tool in securely. Easy to cut (I'm guessing it is called 50mm because a dewalt toughsystem case has slanted edges at the bottom, and the foam is not cut to accommodate these, so when you put it in it actually sits about 5-8mms off the actually case base. This caused the foam to sink into the gap pulling the edges up and inwards, making it less practical. I dis however pay for 2x 50mm thick pieces and relieved 2x 40mm thick pieces.

Hi Niall Really sorry to hear this and we'd definitely like to get this sorted for you - the foam does have a depth tolerance of +/- 5mm, so it definitely shouldn't be 40mm. Could you drop us an email at hello@shadowfoam.com and we'll see what we can get sorted for you? Thanks again for the feedback!

Bought what I thought was the Easypeel version off the website because it was constructed with layers just like on their promotional YouTube video. When I came to doing the easypeel bit, it ripped to bits so I threw it in the bin. Turns out there is no such thing as easypeel anymore despite the YouTube video continuing to show us all how easy it is to use.

Hi Andrew Thanks so much for the feedback, and just to clarify as discussed on email back early this month... Whilst we haven't called the product Easy Peel for some time now... it's the exactly the same product as used to be called Easy Peel. A couple of years ago we had two different grades of foam so to differentiate one was called Original and one called Easy Peel. Then, when Original was discontinued 18months ago the grade of foam formerly known as Easy Peel just became known as Shadow Foam for ease and as there was no need to differentiate it from anything else, so it's the same thing. I know you were concerned about the layers being glued together when we originally corresponded, which we confirmed isn't the case and tried to get you on the right track with your project by sharing guides on how to peel the foam with you since you were trying to peel on the layer point itself which is much harder. Hoped we'd been able to get you up and running with the project as the pictures you shared looked great. But you have our details if you want to get back in touch for more guidance and help with your project. Thanks again!

The shadow foam itself it very good. Be prepared to not have super flat levels but that's ok. I bought a lid cut for a nuprol case which didn't fit so had to cut it down myself. Not pleased with doing that considering it's suppose to fit. You need to change to a 4 axis cutter to get the bevel cuts

It's good for home use, but I personally next time will pay the extra to get CNC cut foam inlays.
