It really is a straight forward process, you answer the questions, upload any supporting documents and evidence required. When your happy that you have completed the sections within the questionnaire click the submit button. You will be informed that your completed assessment has been passed to the auditors and they will be in touch soon.

Having gone through SafeContractor accreditation a few years ago with a previous employer, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the process has improved since then. It is well worth paying the relatively small amount extra for the rapid responses and for the consultant's help. I was able to speak to our auditor within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone each time, the feedback on our submission was concise and helpful, and the whole process was quick and relatively painless.

Whilst dealing with our accreditation we found Safe contractor to be very helpful and in dialogue, we used this interaction to "improve" our H&S systems and documentation going forward. Thanks Safe contactor!!

A good solid platform and process to follow when applying. We have been members for 14 years and have always found the process fair and easy to follow. Some SSiP providers can be complex to navigate with no real benefit to health and safety. I am always able to call SafeContractor and discuss issues with them and the people I deal with are easy to understand, polite, friendly and approachable.

Very slow this year, took more than 7 weeks to get the renewal certificate, every single e-mail took 6-7 days to get a response, auditor not available by phone even by her colleagues! I find it outrageous that unless you pay extra for 'fast track' there is NO way to get accredited in time which is shameless exploitation of your position! The new questionnaire is only made available for a short period of time before the old certificate expires, giving contractors no time to complete and not enough time for the assessors to check everything.

Despite paying for and submitting my application before the expiry date of my existing certificate, I was somewhat taken aback at the notion the necessary checks pertaining to the submission would take 25 days to accomplish. I then received a sales call from Alcumus citing that for £135, the same process could be achieved in 48 hours! Upselling, or what? Twice during the intervening period, I was asked to provide further evidence to support the application. So I sent the same data - which was accepted. Moreover, questions 3 to 6 below refer to a "delivery". Delivery of what? To what does this refer? Last question in this review: Photo or video. What is that all about? Photo or video what?

This was the first time in my role of completing this assessment on behalf of a client. From start to finish I had plenty of help with Ellie Cecil, who was very patient with me.

I believe when gathering evidence the portal could be more specific in how to meet the particular requirements. My experience of this years application was fraught with delays, with requests for further information, when on many occasions when this was explained further in an email it was judged as sufficient. However, this cause me additional labour and time.
