I am sorry to hear that in this instance you felt our service fell short of your expectations. At SafeContractor we do operate a queue system owing to the volume of accounts we have to process. We do offer a variety of packages dependent on the needs of our contractors. As your business is on the standard package the lead time for accreditation can apply, you are able to utilize your other SSIP accreditation to apply for a "deem to satisfy" questionnaire. Having this type of questionnaire means you answer a shorter questionnaire with us. You are also able to work on your questionnaire throughout the entire year and then submit 30 days before your account accreditation, this helps to align your certificate date compared to last year. “The accreditation process was fine an the application was straightforward on my end. The only issue was the time scale it took for the accreditation to be looked at and processed. We have many other accreditations that we do as a company and these are processed within 3/4 days. However, Safecontractor took nearly a month when we were being nagged for these by clients. The time scale is not good enough and to fast-track it you wanted another payment which is just ridiculous when the accreditation is enough anyway. Our customer care advisor Daniel Reese wasn't very helpful and ignored emails when I needed this to be made a priority, but the gentleman who helped me gain the accreditation and was auditing my application was amazing and so helpful and came back within the hour if things were needed. This was Richard Jones and a credit to your company. The accreditation is a good one and its something we will always use and have as company but the initial start of the process needs looking at.”

“The assessment took far to long, 3 months!! I responded to all the questions, and then I was asked the same questions again. I had to deal with 3 different people to get the accreditation. Really poor service this time around, doubt whether I will renew with them again.”

“We are happy with our certification achieved via Safe Contractor Assessment. However, we hereby raise that the assessment time is too long and hope you can improve on this. Additional subscription to fast track assessments is not affordable to SMEs and this should be considered by Alcumus SafeContractor. We are still awaiting our Safe PQQ Cert and hope to be notified of its availability by the end of this week.”

“Initially, confusing. We were asked to complete a full accreditation questionnaire and then, when I phoned to query why, I was met with a confused young man who, during a brief call, gave four separate dates as to when our certification (previously under Daly International) expired (4/4/23, 24/1/23, 12/12/22, 02/12/22). It would appear that, despite our having ISO45001 and being SSiP accredited and having expressed previously that we wished to renew through the "deemed to satisfy" route, this wasn't appreciated by those involved early in the renewal process. Once I'd contacted Ben Coak and he put me in touch with Karen Davies things couldn't have gone smoother though and we were fast-tracked through accreditation.”
