About Rohan:

Rohan is a much loved and iconic British travel and outdoor clothing brand with a heritage spanning more than four decades. Established by two outdoor enthusiasts in North Yorkshire in 1972, Rohan set out to challenge the status quo. With five founding principles that clothing should always be protective, lightweight, packable, versatile and easy-care, Rohan radically re-thought the way people dressed for the outdoors.

My exposure to Rohan has been essentially to bag shorts. Why? Because it appears impossible to get other shorts that are not baggy, not restrictive to hiking on steep surfaces, and have zipped pockets for security. Pretty basic requirements you would think, but maybe not 'fashionable'. My first pair lasted for ages, my second pair fell apart quite quickly. Rohan seem to have reverted to tougher material. However, they are not cheap, so I shall use them only when essential. Recommend? For shorts certainly, but not sure about coats and raingear which are eye-wateringly expensive. In particular, I have always been disappointed by 'technical' rainwear from any source - eg Goretex - because even if it works that doesn't last.

I haven't worn my Frontier trousers yet but would like to comment on men's Bags. I was very pleased with the first pair I purchased which had the zip pockets on each leg towards the knee. My son bought me another pair of Green Bags for my birthday a couple of years ago. I use these trousers for birding holidays, which, due to covid19, I haven't been on for a while. I've just used them for the second time on a weeks holiday in Mallorca. I have to say I don't think they are nearly good as my first pair due to the position of the zipped pockets being right next to the other ones on each leg. Apart from that I think your clothes are great - I just wish the Bags zipped leg pockets hadn't been moved - why was this?

Great clothes, wouldn’t use anything else when outside, waterproof and breathable, any outside occasion warrants the right gear and this is the right gear.

I buy your product because of its durability. Sizing has been a problem for me. For trousers I need a short but still need to take up 1.5 inches, the length from waist to crutch is too long but I cope. Short trousers from M&S always fit so I’m not sure what you base your sizing on.

Mainly good. But you change garments for the worse sometimes. Classics remain classics and should remain available.

I've been buying Rohan bags for many years and generally have bought the unfinished option with hemming tape to finish the hem. My recent purchase of 2 pairs of men's bags came with what could only be described as a scrunched up piece of inferior tape - not at all what has come with previous purchases. I have never before had any trouble with the hemming but this time the tape was hard to use as it wasn't flat and I had to cut off the finished edge of the bags in order to be able to fold a hem that lay flat. Also, at the first wash the hems of both pairs came down so that I have ended up hand sewing hems. Please go back to providing a better quality tape and don't taper the legs right to the bottom so that it is possible to turn a proper hem. Or better still, sell a ready hemmed longer length.

Have just purchased a ladies Brecon waterproof jacket in the lovely cumbria blue colour, perfect I thought. As always the quality is excellent but I am now considering returning this. Several years ago I purchased a Cloudover jacket in red which is still in top condition and has weathered many downpours both in this country and others. My gripe is that this new jacket is a little shorter in length, even though the sleeves are long. Worse than that the hood cannot be clipped or zipped away as the Cloudover jacket. Please can you advise me whether the Cloudover jacket is or will be available but in more colours. Apart from that Rohan products are very long lasting but just need more colour choices.

I bought a pair of charcoal Bags 2 years ago. Since then, they have faded to grey and now the stitching on the knee reinforcement area is coming undone on both sides. (So I've repaired it.) On the positive side, I've worn Bags for years, they are comfortable, and since I don't know of anything better, I've ordered another pair. I'm just concerned whether the quality is maybe not up to what it was.

Expensive good quality long lasting clothing, & customer service is usually good at sorting out issues. Some recent changes to styles and range offered not always welcomed but hopefully they listen to customers.

At last a pair of trousers (Fleet) that fit me round the waist. In recent years styles that have fitted my hips have had about 4 inches to spare on the waist and/or been too short in the body. Took advantage of the sale price to buy a pair in each colour while they are still available. It would be good to have better pockets, though. I'd be happy to lose the back pocket for another one (or two) on the leg.

I recently bought some shorts on line, Roamers, but I had to send them back as they were too short. There is no indication on the website how long shorts are. People have a wide range of height so all shorts are no suitable for all. my last pair were crossovers and they were good. Also the fastening was a press study which was far too stiff for arthritic hands. I sent the shorts back. I commented on the return form but this issue was not addressed, only the fact they would send the money back.

I recently ordered a pair of Trailblazer walking trousers and they were delivered quickly. They are a little larger than my other Rohan trousers that are the same size, but they are very comfortable to walk in.

The on-line shopping experience is fine, although the item I wanted to purchase (waterproof trousers) had been out of stock for months! Rohan equipment is not cheap, but I have found the quality to be excellent & you have to pay for quality. I purchased Rohan Dry Frontier trousers and got the chance to try them out in Scottish rain & I have to say they functioned very well. They are lined with a waterproof membrane which means the outer gets very wet whilst your legs stay nice and dry. They are quite heavy for trousers and in warm weather would probably be too hot, making you sweat and be wet from the inside out as they didn't feel like they 'breathed'. As a Winter garment they would probably be ideal, as they would for cold Spring or Autumn days. Sizing seems vague at best. I have a pair of Rohan trousers size 34 waist which fit fine, so ordered 34 waist in the waterproofs - so tight I couldn't button them up - returned for a 36 which fit fine. I also have size 36 ordinary Rohan walking trousers which are tighter than the 34!

Love these Malaysia dresses. I've personalised them by inserting a zip in place of the buttons to make it easier to fasten and covering the buttonholes with self covered ones.

Rohan quality second to none. Sometimes I feel colour choices could be better. For example the mens micro grid fleece why not offer it in more colours. Surely black is a must. Also the real blue us a winner.

Most products seem well-made and of good quality. Not cheap but better value when bought in the Sales. Some of the sizing has recently gone awry. Quite a number of the clothes from way back have more features and still look good. Preferred the original version of women's Bags.
