About Riverside:

The Riverside Garden Centre has been established since 1997 and is owned and run by Russell and Jo Jeffery who take a very hands-on approach to every aspect of the business. They are always on hand to help and give advice.

Having moved away from being a more traditional garden centre over recent years and evolved into a modern outdoor living destination, Riverside now focuses more on quality and style than it ever did before.

LARGEST WEBER® WORLD BBQ SHOWROOM

Officially the UK's largest Weber® World Barbecue showroom Riverside stocks and displays every Weber® barbecue and accessory available from the small, portable charcoal models, the award winning Q™ range as well as the famous charcoal kettles and outstanding gas barbecues. As a World Store Riverside also stocks a number of exclusive barbecues and accessories not found in regular Weber® stores or outlets.

TRAEGER GRILLS

With the popularity of barbecuing and outdoor smoking growing at a phenomenal rate Riverside has become the 'go to' place for Traeger grills, pellets and accessories. Easier to use than a traditional barbecue a Traeger grill controls the cooking temperature for you and produces perfectly smoked food every time.

Truly terrible and offensive customer service and delivery which took all the joy I might have felt out of the product. I will never ever purchase again from this supplier.

Ordered an out door set of Alexander Rose furniture to go with our existing table and chairs. The furniture arrived assembled, which I thought odd and on inspection the chairs were made differently and it looked like it had been treated! We were met with a little arrogance when we complained. It was only after several emails and calls that Riverside admitted the furniture was ex- demo stock. I finally agreed to replacement furniture if I kept the cushions. I think it disgusting to deliver demo stock when sold as new. There was no attempt at any apology either. The least I expected was a bottle of wood protector or a bag for the cushions. I have been a customer of Riverside for a number of years but if this is how they treat returning customers I will go elsewhere in future

Poor service. Barbecue arrived several weeks late (due to Weber being out of stock, probably not Riverside's fault as such, but they had led me to believe that it would be delivered in July whereas it turned up in late August). During the wait I was offered a discount on another (in stock) barbecue, but instead I suggested that I was should be given a discount on a barbecue cover if I was prepared to wait. No answer to that e-mail. When the barbecue finally arrived it had a dent in it. Rather than send it back for a refund (as I was entitled to do) I suggested again that they give me at least a sensible discount on a barbecue cover (frankly a token goodwill gesture of a few quid would have sufficed). This suggestion was initially ignored, then refused out of hand by the various junior people dealing with it (one of whom appeared not to believe me when I complained about the dent, apparently because I had waited all of 48 hours to inform Riverside about the problem). When I asked to speak to someone more senior this request was ignored. I then received a notification that the part with the dent would be replaced, but referring to the wrong part. In any case if and when a (correct) new part arrives it will require dismantling and reassembling the barbecue. The problem could and should have been sorted quickly and easily but wasn't. Won't be doing business with Riverside again. Hopeless.

Awful awful experience with riverside garden centre. Ordered a Weber bbq for my husbands birthday (this will be his third Weber so there have been plenty of purchases made elsewhere). It arrived promptly 2 days later. We immediately unpackaged the bbq and discovered a large crack along the main body of the bbq. We contacted RGS within 30 minutes of taking delivery, advised them of the damage and sent photos. We were asked to send a photo of the serial number and told a replacement would be sent. We were told the issue had been passed to Weber and would be contacted once a response was received. When I questioned this (I had purchased from RGS and not Weber) it transpired riverside were proposing to make a claim against the warranty and provide me with a replacement part and not a fully functioning bbq as I had ordered. I made it clear I was not happy trying to work out how to take the bbq apart and replace a part and would require a fully functioning bbq as I had purchased. I was then advised the faulty bbq would be collected and I would have to purchase elsewhere. Given RGS market themselves as one of the largest suppliers of Weber in the U.K. I questioned why they couldn’t simply exchange the faulty bbq for a fully working one. After several phone calls I was eventually told this could happen, however, instead of the courier simply exchanging the faulty bbq for a new one the courier would collect, I would then have to wait for this to be received, RGS would then sent a replacement. It has been an absolute battle, he touts phone calls and lots of emails to get to this point. I totally appreciate things get damaged, however, I would expect riverside to do all they could to rectify this problem. Ellie was always polite and courteous, Patrick, the manager, could not have had a less interested and borderline rude tone on the phone. Given he is the manager I suggest he seeks some training in customer service. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

BBQ Weber parts missing so looking forward to a BBQ on the weekend of the 15th Aug when we took delivery from DPD mid afternoon, started setting it up and no nuts for the handle missing and 2 clips missing for the Ash tray and still waiting now for this to be resolved not happy at all been waiting and waiting for this to be resolved

Having trouble lighting the cubes straight away, it’s taking 2-3 attempts to get them to stay lit . I could’ve complained I suppose but there’s more to worry about at the moment

I ordered Weber fire lighter cubes and received 45g of peri peri rub!?! Not sure that’s going to get the barbecue started! Mistakes happen but I telephoned and left a message, as the office was closed, and no one contacted me to sort! Not impressed! Can’t return as invoice lists fire lighter cubes.

Parasol was far too flimsy . Spokes very fragile and therefore not fit for purpose or British weather . Returned item and had to pay postage £13.50 plus Riverside charged me £35 for repackaging . The box was dented and bashed on delivery . Really disappointed and now out of pocket . Company not interested . Would definitely NOT use again due to after sales care .

Took my order, took my payment and even sent me an email to confirm a delivery date. Then decided by email (no telephone call) to advise me that they had no stock of my item and that it would not be in until September. Hardly the personal touch!!!! Dont trust them until you have actually got your goods - the world is not what it seems

Not happy with service I know I purchased straight after lockdown but when I arrived to collect my bbq costing £1049 I stood by doors to see people eating ice lollies who just ignored me I had to phone for someone to serve me and when I asked for help loading the large box in my van the person just walked back in to the building leaving me to load on my own Not very helpful service

Where do I start? 1.I ordered a Shanghai parasol and base from over 3weeks ago. 2. The base arrived,the packaging was damaged and parts were missing. 3.I informed you and mentioned that the parasol had not arrived. 4.The parts have just arrived but no parasol! 5. Sarah has emailed me to say that the parasol is lost in transit but could be with me In around a week! 6. Let’s see? Oh I wish I had used Amazon.......and not you . I now have lost my trust in you and would never ever use you again.

Bought a SAN Merino wicker table and chair set which cost a lot. The base of the table could not screw into the inserts of table top. No help from riverside whatsoever. No response from them even though photos of problem were sent

Your website showed a Beige version of the product was available. You then sent green ones. On complaint you said the beige version was no longer available! I will be returning them for a refund. You should keep your website up to date and sell product which matches what is on your site.

The customer support via email is very slow/ unresponsive. I sent several emails with no reply! I originally ordered 10 sets to the team and only two were processed due to running out of stock. Knowing that I have called before to make sure they have enough before I start ordering and they confirmed they have plenty. The orders for the 10 went through and money was deducted, then I’ve noticed after three days when checking the delivery that the other 7 were pending and not dispatched. No one called to inform, I had to chase several time to get the orders cancelled and get the refund. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. When I called the employee over the phone tried to help as much as possible, however, I was promised to receive a call back but didn’t.

Terrible service - ordered and they took the money from my account. When I chased where the item was they told me it was on its way. Then 2 days later they cancelled the order saying it was out of stock.

The item arrived very fast ... however some screws were missing & after a couple of e mails I am still waiting for these to arrive . Simply passed the book onto a Weber Rep who still hasn’t done anything 10 days have now passed Not happy at all
