We deal with large amounts of goods on a daily basis via our physical stores, established mail order website www.rimmersmusic.co.uk and dedicated education sales division with education catalogue (distributed to over 26,000 schools and Music Services all over the country). 
We also have stores on EBAY and Amazon retailing musical instruments. 

Retailing both new and used equipment Rimmers Music has a reputation for offering competitive prices (always with long guarantees for peace of mind) and excellent part exchange prices. 
We also buy old instruments to recycle and sell, enabling our customers get a refurbished bargain and also help the environment.

We offer delivery and collection services for all products to make the process of getting your new instrument and part exchanging your old instrument easy. We use next day delivery and collection services for most items, via various courier companies we have accounts with.

Via these couriers we give tracking information for timed delivery slots (in most cases). We also sell specialist items that require an additional level of delivery service, items such as acoustic upright or grand pianos. These specialist delivery items are delivered by our trained team of experts who know how to handle items of this nature, are fully insured, professional and give our customers the installation with the care and attention they deserve.

We have established Rimmers Music Schools at each of our branches with hundreds of satisfied students of all age groups from 5 years old to 95 years old. Our music studios are purpose built by us and fully stocked with the latest equipment for you to use. We are also London College of Music and Rock School examination centres (and are highly respected by both), although taking exams is optional. We want you to have your lessons and enjoy them, some people like exams some don’t, we will teach you at your pace in the styles you want to learn, or take you through the exams of your choice. Guitar arrived virtually unplayable with very high action. Also a very noticeable imperfection in the wood which was not shown in the photographs or mentioned in the description. Cost me £40 to have the instrument properly set up and would have cost another £40 to return. Would not buy from here again or recommend to anyone.

Hi Dennis, I'm sorry you have felt disappointed with your guitar. I've looked into your review and spoken with our expert who listed your guitar and photographed it. Our opinion of the guitar was that it played well and was fantastic value for money. The new price is approx £600 and it was listed @ £379. We took extensive photos of the guitar and would always endeavour to highlight any problems with the guitar, otherwise its a waste of our time listing it, so we are surprised to hear your comment ref the wood. Setup is of course an area of personal preference and peoples tastes can differ entirely. Kind regards Cathy

Rimmers give the impression of caring about their customers up to the point of sale, but their after sales care is the worst I’ve experienced. I decided to spend a large amount of money on a piano, and it has been a disaster from the moment I made payment. The matching stool advertised was missing and I was given a modern one which does not look right with the piano. When I phoned a couple of days after delivery to say I had regretted the purchase and asked for a refund or exchange I was spoken to in a hostile and rude manner which led to me giving up on asking for assistance. When I went back again to plead for assistance in exchanging the piano for a more suitable model, I was told that would be fine and to go into the store to choose. I did as instructed and spent a long time choosing an alternative. I was then told Rimmers wouldn’t exchange after all and to sell privately. I explained to customer services the impact the stress of this was having on me and after being challenged and again treated with no care a reluctant offer was made to accept less than half the what I had paid just a few months prior, with the expectation that I also spend more towards the alternative. I have been left ignored now and losing money on private sales listings. The treatment I’ve received has been appalling given the amount of money I spent. I would never buy an instrument from this company again.

Hi I'm sorry to read this review. We tried to help you with your situation as best we could. Firstly, you purchased your piano in March and didn't make a request to return the piano at anytime. You did enquire about exchanging your piano as we understood from you you felt it was too big for your home. This was after your cooling off period. We suggested you choose a potential alternative to explore part exchanging your piano, but the costs to re-move your grand piano would have been extensive for you. We therefore advised in good faith that you look into selling your piano privately. You then contacted us again as you weren't happy to sell the piano privately, so again we pointed out the costs for you to re-move the piano (as we would have needed to ship from Edinburgh to Lancashire) which I understand from this review you aren't happy with. You haven't been ignored, you haven't answered my email to you from the 9th November which you appear to have received as you say you aren't happy with the price we have indicated to exchange. We are disappointed that you feel the piano isn't right for you, but it isn't our responsibility to check that it fit into your room. With regards to the stool, we have an email chain where we explain the issue with the stool and you were perfectly happy at that point. We are a reputable company and if we haven't given the service we should have will always endeavor to make things right for the customer and are happy to say if we a situation is caused by us. I was looking for a decent midi keyboard to have a go at learning with the pianovision app and got the yamaha np32 at a great price , great delivery service . Overall you cant go wrong . Thankyou .

I recently purchased a piano cover for my Roland piano. I am delighted the prompt service that Rimmer's Music provide.The cover is of high quality for small cost excellent value for money. I ordered a Kawai CA701 and delivery was quoted as next day. I tracked the order through the TNT system and was disturbed to note that the piano had been returned to store ‘at the customers request’. This was disappointing and I ‘phoned Rimmers to report the issue, requesting a callback. Needless to say, in line with numerous instances of customers complaining that no callback had been received, my request was ignored. I received an email from Rimmers the following day apologising for the non-delivery advising that the carton had been incorrectly routed and sent to the wrong distribution centre. Whether this was in response to my ‘phone call or alternatively, following a non-delivery report from TNT is unclear. The carton arrived the following day on a wooden pallet and I noted that the carton had been placed upside down inspire of clear markings on the carton advising orientation. Luckily, the piano survived the ordeal and arrived in perfect working order. I reported this back to Rimmers and their response indicated that the carton had been passed to TNT the correct way up. I could only assume that rather than lift the carton onto the pallet, it had been rolled on hence it arriving upside down. I have just received a an email from Rimmers requesting a positive review with the caveat that if there had been a problem, they would rather deal with any issues by email rather than me post a negative review. In my opinion, this is completely underhand. You asked for a review so here it is - warts an’ all. So there you have it: 1 point deducted for the delivery issues and another point deducted for the review request. It could be argued that the delivery issues were not directly attributable to Rimmers, but the customer has no control over who Rimmers select to mis-handle their consignments. Perhaps Rimmers need to review their choice of courier and they certainly need to abandon the ‘callback’ approach. Why can’t customers speak directly to Customer Services?

Hi I have just tried to call you but haven't managed to reach you. I'm sorry to hear that you piano was mis-routed. This does happen from time to time and is frustrating for us and our customers. We did contact you via email to update you of the situation with the courier and apologised for the delay - which was out of our control. We have a very limited choice of courier for these larger items in order to offer the most competitive prices. We do offer a specialist 2 man delivery service for an additional charge that means you can specify your day and time for delivery. This would also ensure the piano is kept in its correct position, rather than it going through a huge courier network and risking as you point out it being turned over in transit. We are perfectly happy to say please let us deal with any problems as we would like the chance to do so, but if the customer would prefer not to give us that opportunity before writing a review on different platforms, that is their choice. You refer to numerous reviews saying we don't call back... I can see x2 instances on this page where customers have said that. I do know after having personally dealt with one of those 2 customers has since purchased from us as we went out of our way to try and find out why we hadn't got in touch with him as we couldn't understand why that had happened. Customer service is of the utmost importance to us and we have numerous people and reviews who we have called back and responded to emails from. If we don't we may as well all go home and not advertise our company any further as a supplier of musical instruments. In closing we have just ordered a new phone system which means customers will have the ability to call and speak to one of our staff, which is something we always did in the past. Following the changes that covid brought, we were unable to man the phones; however we now can again and see that as another improvement to customer service.
