“Used Richardson + Starling last year at our previous house to great effect. The Dundee team of Mike and Andy headed by Allan Brown (Branch Manager) did an excellent job. The job just done was external damp proofing regarding digging trenches, cutting slabs, drilling holes into the masonry and injecting. Also, extra remedial works requested by myself were undertaken with no fuss and expertise. All materials removed and the site left pristine.”

“An appointment was arranged; under the floor was surveyed and Mr Brown explained the results. He followed up with an explanatory email. I am very satisfied with the Dundee & Angus branch.”

I found him extremely professional and thorough, not only answering my questions with knowledge and expertise but doing so in a straightforward and understandable manner. “Matty and Evan were here today to treat my loft for woodworm. What a nice experience it was to have such lovely, cheerful efficient and knowledgeable tradesmen !!! They did a neat job, cleaned up after themselves. I had no disruption to my family home life and was able to get on with my normal daily tasks. Would I recommend Richardson & Starling? You bet I would.”

“Although the standard of work was proficient and competent, the management and communication was abysmal. Costs spiralled as did completion dates. Along the way, we didn't know when work would resume leaving the 3 year old's bedroom (along with most of the flat) out of bounds to the family which then included a new born. Holidays had to be extended as did child care and alternative living arrangements as 5 days work took nearly a month to complete. Getting information from them was painful, if not farcical at times. Quotes for further work didn't add up and had old information on them leading to more delays. All in all, it was deeply regrettable that we chose to go ahead with R&S”

We are pleased that you feel the standard of our work was proficient and competent. However, we are surprised to learn that you see Richardson & Starling as a ‘1 Star’ company. Upon exposure of the areas we were working on, further areas of rot where discovered. This involved more work which unfortunately increased the costs. The works were also required in a property which was adjacent to yours, this involved a further specification and co-ordination from us. We understand that there was some communication issues, but we did take this on board and discussed it with you at the time. We have since reviewed our procedures and dealt with these issues internally. Richardson & Starling has acknowledged that this could have been better and as a gesture of goodwill decreased the costs of your works. As a result we feel that the one star rating on the review is unfair.

“Staff were very friendly and efficient. Introduced themselves and explained the procedure thoroughly to us prior to beginning the work. Laid floor coverings to protect our flooring and left the attic clean and tidy. Would highly recommend the company. The technicians were Colin J and Kevin A from the Stirling branch. Fantastic job.”

“Highland Council has had Neil Ferries and Alan Swanson from your Elgin office in doing rot work in the Kingussie Courthouse building. Both tradesmen were polite, courteous and communicated well the stages of work that was being undertaken during each visit. They did their utmost to keep the premises free from debris and dust whilst working. The quality of workmanship was also very good.”

“First class service from the initial communication to the end. The level of knowledge and genuine want to help resolve your damp problems makes this a stress free and professional outfit. As a female I am always cautious when having to deal with issues out with my comfort zone and everything was explained to me fully providing various options and advice. I would recommend this company to my own family and friends as they are professional and genuinely realistic and helpful with their solutions. Keep up the good work.”

“We had damp & mould damage which needed fixed & replacing. On inspection more work was required than initially thought. The team were amazing. Additional work was dealt with on the day. Due to the additional work, we had to extend the job, again the team were incredible. True to their word, had the work done within the time scale. The daily guys Raymond & Jordan were fantastic. Tidied up after themselves, very respectful to patients & team and the work done is amazing. Highly recommend them. 5 stars.”

“We had damp proof work completed in our property over 2 days. Kevin Rowe organised the necessary work to be completed and visited us when the work had been done. The technicians who did the work were - Colin J, Scott M, and Aarron. The whole team were first class and we would give them 10/10. From the preparation, through to the finishing of the job,was clean, tidy , and for us hassle free. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.”

“Kieran and Gregor did a great job. They arrived at my home laid carpet protection from the front door all the way to the attic before starting. Flooring and insulation materials were lifted and relaid after the woodworm treatment had been sprayed on the wood. The two of them worked steadily for the day and left the house clean and tidy after their work was done.”

“Allan Brown the Branch Manager and surveyor at the Dundee branch, was extremely pleasant and professional. The initial request for a survey, made in the evening at 17:44, was responded to at 17:57! With the actual survey taking place in less than a week. To my amazement, the detailed report came in the very next day - excellent service. We have used Richardson and Starling (Dundee branch) at our previous house. Again, not only was the survey work, undertaken by Allan Brown faultless, but done in a most pleasant and professional manner. Also, the two main workmen (Robert and Mike) were hard working and easy to get on with. Most importantly - they cleaned up after their work, taking all materials away. To cap it all, the plasterer used (Jason) did an immaculate job. I thoroughly recommend Richardson + Starling (Dundee branch).”

“The process from start to finish was easy. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and professional, especially Roy who did the survey and Ryan and Davie who did the work. People turned up on time, worked hard, were friendly, did an excellent job, and left the place clean and tidy.”
