I purchased a whisky advent calendar but before it was delivered by DHL they asked for 126 euros import tax. The rgwcompany agreed it was too high and said they'd sort it out but they never did, the calendar was sent back to uk and I never got it. Very disappointed.

Caroline - yes, this was extremely disappointing - trust us, for us - just as much as you! We've had PLENTY of calendars go through without these extra and unjustified charges by customs and it's unclear why they picked on your parcel :O( We did try very hard to argue it with them, and then of course, we refunded you in full once it was clear that they weren't going to correct their error. We can only apologise - we were left with a lost sale, lost cost of delivery (plus delivery back) and to add insult to injury, customs/the courier actually damaged the product in the meantime. We guess this poor review makes it the icing on the cake.

Flood sale was a scam. Everyone I know received the same bottle.

More or less everyone I know got the same bottle (which was under the promised value), from the same company.

Disappointing. Good not shipped on time, had to chase twice before getting a delivery. No bonus dram sent with the item (as many other customers had received) and despite asking, nothing was sent. Not a company I have any intention of using again. Most items are overpriced and can be bought cheaper from other more reliable online businesses.

Almost everyone I know in our whisky group got the same bottle of Glenturret. We had hoped the ballot would be fair and we would get a good selection to do a tasting with but we all ended up with the same £45 bottle of the old branding Glenturret Peated when we all paid £50 for the ballot. Really disappointed in this as we were hoping to help a company repair the same from the flood, but now just feel let down and disappointed. They did say they would swap or refund but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Paid above market price for a bottle of water damaged stock, as did many others. Feels like a scam.

I entered the lucky dip. Most of my whisky group got a bottle of below value £44 Glenturret. It seems that a lot of others also got Glenturret so it wasn't a phenomenon that was limited to our group. It made us wonder what percentage was glenturret and what percentage was other whiskies https://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8885

Very disappointed to receive 2 bottles of lousy NAS Glenturret, as did my friends. It feels as if you couldn't sell these bottles so came up with this lottery idea. But there is no random factor here, since too many of these bottles arrived in one country, and I personally got 2 of them! You should have made a much better bottle spread. I do not feel there was a fair ballot here.

In good faith, I purchased a bottle from the supposed 'lucky dip' they were running to help them stay in business after an apparently 'devastating' flood. Every single person I know, from various whisky clubs, got the same bottle – Glenturret. If you ordered more than one bottle, you might get something else as well, but you still got a Glenturret. Far from a lucky dip to "help a small business", this was a scam to clear stock, cleverly charging a higher price, and adding delivery on top. I don't mind about the money – I went into the supposed lucky dip knowingly. It’s the subterfuge that is extremely irksome. If they’d been honest and said “You’ll have to buy more than one bottle to stand a chance of getting something interesting”, I could have made an informed choice. Even more frustrating is the wider damage they’ve done. I’d think twice about supporting any other small business that put out a similar appeal, wondering if it was as scammy as this. Disgraceful behaviour, with no attempt to put it right.

Got a bottle of old Glenturret in my flood sale pair. My friend also got the same bottle. Online I've seen many others got the same bottle (well one of two Glenturret bottles). Really poor whisky. Feels like Really Good Whisky Company have used the flood sale as a way of shifting bad stock that they couldn't shift before. That's the sense I get anyway. Won't be buying from them again.

Go 4 bottles of the "mystery flood-damaged bottles" but could have got them elsewhere for the same price/cheaper. the images they showed on the webiste were misleading as the had quality preimum bottles at the front.

I know for a fact that all you did was charge people £50 and hand out bottles of whiskey that retail for £39. I was a part of a group of 16 people who all entered into this scam and we all got the exact same bottle of whiskey (fancy that coincidence). This was not what was advertised and is an absolute joke and your company should be ashamed of how you went about it! Never Again!!! What was a possible subscription acquiring move became one negative for your NPS! I work in the SAAS space in the food sector and will actively ensure nobody I know ever ever orders from you if I can. Terrible company, no values and the only comforting thought is that while you’ve scammed people this time, every single one would have googled the price of the whiskey you so called sent in a lottery and they don’t forget. Every sale you made is a lost customer for life

I’ll not be giving you any more business. Farming out 100’s of £30 unwater damaged bottles as £45+ Water damaged bottles because the “opportunity” presented itself shows your true business model. I know I’m not alone as everyone I know across the online whisky groups ended up with the same guff. Cheap way of loosing customers, but you only fool me once!
