Very quick and prompt service. My recovered data drive lead went missing, though a replacement lead was sent to me and I was then able to access my recovered data.

Hi Graham Thank you for the review and apologies for not returning the USB cable which can happen when clients send in their own drive for the recovered data. Most are returned on password protected portable drive. We prefer not to use client cables and in this case it was put aside in a box of cables. We replaced it with a brand new USB cable. The recovery of the 16 year old Seagate Barracuda 80GB ST380011A drive was made possible despite the wear thanks to our donor parts stock and skilled data recovery engineers. After the rebuild using a donor sourced from our extensive stock just 3 files were affected by unreadable sectors caused by the head crash. In reality this amount of data could have been sent by secure download. What is notable is that just 3 files were affected in a drive that was over 80% full ******************************************************* Folders - 321 Files - 27970 ( 61.44 Gb) Normal Files - 27967 Problem Files - 3 ******************************************************* Another recovery of data by team R3 www.r3data recovery.com
Almost perfect service, service was better before sending the item off too them. With questions I had afterwards; they were mostly answered but I felt like I was a burden and didn't feel the initial warmth. No complains about the recovery, a part from the price. Price is a little high for something that appeared to not take too long. But! Overall I am happy and would recommend them!

Hi Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and your feedback. I remember taking your call whilst lines were busy. From time to time time constraints can impact communications. During that period we were completing the refurbishment of the lab which added to what is a busy operation. I did do some posts at the period e on Linkedin about the refurbishment you can find one here:- https://www.linkedin.com/posts/andrew-butler-a9160645_disasterrecovery-businesscontinuity-datarecoveryservices-activity-6809768737470742528-e9v3 Fortunately your WD20EARX-00PASB0 although degraded beyond what its own heads could read was recoverable with just one rebuild using a donor from our own stock. Looking at the case notes below I can see it was the efficiency of the team which pushed through the recovery of your password protected Western Digital HDD which was believed to be degraded but was actually mechanical that affected some of the communication, but it was processed as quickly as possible. It was my own time constraints which lead to the poor communication. This can happen from time to time especially during peaks of demand or handling disaster cases. My apologies. Thank you for your review and for choosing R3 Data Recovery Your enquiry "Laptop fails to start - blue screen with critical code display (windows 10) Unfortunately I didn't back up all my photos/ personal files and would like these recovered." R3 Data Recovery were able to recover all 165GB of data 100% quality from the 750GB Seagate ST9750420AS HDD One set was returned on a portable drive with priority data sent by password protected secure download.
I used R3 to recover data from a hard drive that had packed up. This was done speedily and efficiently. There were no surprises over costs (the initial analysis was free). Follow up customer service was excellent. A very professional outfit.

Thank you for your review Paul. In this case a combination of an over full 2TB drive with a maximum storage of 1.84TB was not responding. An attempt to disconnect and reconnect the drive resulted in a short across the SATA power resulting in PCB components blowing. Both the electronic issues and the over filled problems were solved with 98% 1.8TB recovery transferred to a new drive. For those reading this beware of the risks to your files as a drives becomes full. With less and less space to manage errors and reallocate bad sectors and drive can progressively degrade faster the closer it appraoches full. A decade ago one of the first Seagate 2TB drives to see with this problem was just a few months old at the time and contained a newly saved archive of an album collection before it was sold. Security House is recognised as one of the very best and the highest success rate data recovery labs in the UK Find out more on www.r3data recovery.com
Excellent service. My hdd was not being seen. Tried everything I could. I spoke with R3 Data , who explained the process form sending the drive to receiving a new drive with recovered data. All my data was recovered.

Hi Brian Following your enquiry. "I have a Seagate Personal Cloud NAS drive. Recently I was not able to access it. I powered it down and then up again but still no access. I followed the instructions on how to reset it ( this does not loose data) it came on and I decided to copy my files onto another drive. This worked for a while and connection was lost. I opened up the NAS enclosure and removed it HDD and put it in a USB enclosure but the drive was not seen. I checked in disk management and in Diskpart. Are you able to pull specific data of it." The job tracking shows some of the processing time needed for these 5TB Seagate drives which are often declared unrecoverable because they take more time and resources. A good result with just 6 files affected out of 310,436 almost 1.3TB Thank you for choosing R3 Data Recovery Andy and the team at R3 07/06/2021 09:23:39 - Failure set to: Media Degradation 07/06/2021 09:25:09 - Quoted 09/06/2021 14:59:22 - Accepted & awaiting arrival 11/06/2021 10:08:14 - Received 11/06/2021 10:43:05 - Diagnostic 11/06/2021 12:28:39 Drive has pending relocation bug & corrupt MC Sorting this out now 11/06/2021 14:00:37 MC initialised Drive now becomes ready 11/06/2021 14:00:46 - Cloning 18/06/2021 17:34:53 ****************************************************************************** Folders - 44273 Files - 310436 ( 1294.66 Gb) Normal Files - 310430 Problem Files - 6 ************************************************************************* 18/06/2021 17:34:53 - Data transfer - Linux 22/06/2021 14:03:47 Sent FL to client. 22/06/2021 14:03:50 - File list sent 22/06/2021 14:33:03 - Invoiced 23/06/2021 09:39:18 - Paid 24/06/2021 11:16:39 copying to a 2TB Enc NTFS RM 24/06/2021 11:17:30 - Data transfer 25/06/2021 11:49:57 - In dispatch 25/06/2021 14:58:36 - Returned - Recovered

Wow, so impressed with the whole process from start to end. Clear quote to recover LOADS of what I thought were lost photos on an external hard drive that more than one shop had told me was well and truly broken. Efficient process and kept nicely up to date and c. 12,000 photos delivered back on a new device as good as new! Absolutely fantastic service and totally recommend; don't go anywhere else!

Thank you for your review Duncan. This old Seagate Momentus 320GB laptop drive had put in a good innings, almost 10 years ! Although R3 Data Recovery have an extensive donor stock of hard drive stock, matching this particular revision required a version tracked down overseas which had the correct parameters to enable a good full recovery apart from 80 files affected by the heads sticking to the platters when they crashed. The top platter looked perfect but this was because it was not actually used, this was actually a 500GB drive downgraded to 320GB Another successful rebuild and recovery by R3 Data Recovery. R3-114017 Hi Andy from Andy and the Team at R3 Data Recovery, thank you for your review. You were fortunate not to have been extorted by Fields Data Recovery and to find my posts which have been able to help many affected by Fields to get refunds and their property back, but it is the tip of the iceberg and one of the scandals of data recovery. The #fieldsdatarecoveryscam is a market problem affecting not just data recovery but also court cases and politics. Trading standards and Trustpilot are complicit in their failures to follow their own guidelines to ensure consumers and businesses are protected from such companies as Fields Associates of Bridgend and Data Recovery Specialists of Penarth who along with Rapid Data , Data Phoenix, Clinique De Donnees, Salvataggio Dati, Recuperacion Express, Quickie Divorce, Managed Divorce, Visa Action, Debt Survival, Lifetime Wills, Child Custody UKDS and Action Direct are all part of the document spooling Fields Group owned by Dr Jamie Hamilton Wallis MP for Bridgend. The problem folder includes folder structure and the file names of those files affected by unreadable sectors. Many of the files once checked are either OK and can be moved into their original location or used as reference to look for possible backups elsewhere, or to decide if it is worth an additional rebuild with another set of fresh heads to just target the sectors belonging to the problem file and maximise the signal / read timings which can sometimes result in improvements to the file and providing the heads do not fail continue to improve other files if needed. In this case was advised that the additional rebuild was unlikely to yield much of an improvement and whilst R3 engineers were willing to try it would only be if the client needed any of the problem files. Since most data was already backed up and most of the problem files were operating system files the actual data recovered was over 97% To find out more about Britain's best data recovery lab visit www.r3datarecovery.com
I had an external hard drive that had stopped working. I did take it to scurry’s PC World to try to recover the data, but they didn’t find all the files and their service was wholly unsatisfactory. I mentioned this to a mate who recommended this company (“you speak to a real human being”). I duly rung them, and they were very pleasant on the phone. I sent off my drive and the managed to retrieve the entire contents and get me my files back within a week. I wish all companies were like R3 Data Recovery - they were a joy to deal with from start to finish. Perfect service !

Glad we could be of service Mark. Both of the WD Blue WD20EZRZ-22Z5HB0 had become slow responding after being filled to maximum capacity. In the early days of small form factor hard drives the advice was never fill beyond 90% of the stated capacity. Today large capacity drives still should have enough space to manage errors, swap space and bad sector reallocation. Although the drives were not physically failing they were degraded to the point of preventing even software recovery by IT Support or in store data recovery services offered by Currys PC World. Glad we could be of service and that your friend already knew of R3 Data Recovery.
Better and sooner interaction may have improved the chances of retrieving the data I wanted to retrieve. Unfortunately, the holiday season so was handed backwards and forwards between people which lead to delays and the irreversible degradation of the storage. Disappointedly only recovering 30% of my data.

Hi Darron, You are correct that "better and sooner interaction may have improved the chances" but the percentage would have been minimal. The reality is the SSD was already degraded, and encrypted. The process to image does not write data, Not until the decrypted volume was accessible could it be cloned sector by sector, the issue is the most used sectors are generally where the most used data is and this can affect the quality of the recovery when it comes to SSD which are building up errors the longer they are switched on. This is a very large SSD with nearly a billion sectors For transparency I have published the case notes redacting some information for security / data protection. Please be assured there may still be a possibility of improvement of the recovery in the future when some control features for this particular Hynix 512GB SSD comes available. This may be developed and ready for in production use at some point. The lesson to learn is that SSD are time consuming to recover and from first use they are degrading. Yours had degraded severely and continues to degrade every time it is switched on. I have posted an article here about SSD https://www.linkedin.com/posts/andrew-butler-a9160645_sandisk-apple-dell-activity-6844968887000305664-qxj6 05/08/2021 14:57:45 Dell laptop, just stopped responding. 05/08/2021 14:58:01 - Failure set to: Electronic 05/08/2021 14:59:11 - Quoted Dead. Glad we could be of service John. The 4 Seagate Cheetah 73GB 15K SCSI discs had put in a good innings for a decade before succumbing to degradation after power outages. Fortunately the data required was protected by the redundancy and durability of these drives. Thank you for your review of R3 Data Recovery
Very helpful and professional service, R3 Provided an up front indication of the costs. Once they had received the drive they kept me informed of what was going on and informed me as to what data could and could not be recovered.

"Hard drive from a Laptop, no longer booting gets as far as starting windows, Hard drive is not recognised when connected to another computer and can not be accessed." In this case the the 500gb WD Blue after 4 years of use in a laptop had suffered enough knocks to setup the drive to fail. Multiple issue from the spindle beginning to seize and head crashes causing platter scratches meant it was not possible to get a 100% recovery but by targeting just the priority data it was possible to recover what was needed. Glad we could be of service. Andy and the team at R3 Data Recovery
Basically they have restored all of my files.

Hi James Thank you for your review. The 320GB Seagate was the 4 head version, with one failed head. After a rebuild all data was recovered to your own new backup drive. Glad we could be of service. "hi we have a seagate HD 1000gb ,the cable was damaged so we got a new and now when we plug it in it comes up with a fault error code 49244 could not mount "seagate"{com.apple.diskmanagement.dis enter error 49244}" After 6 years of use the Samgate Momentus degraded affecting the ability to access the drive and enter the password to the file vault protection. R3 Engineers were able to convert the drive from USB to SATA create a good image which accepted the password provided and allow access to the data.
R3 Data Recovery has done swift and solid work for me, retrieving 2TB of data out of a HDD failure at the worst possible time. A stressful moment as I was short of 2 weeks of backups in a tight deadline context. This was a high vulnerability event, and Andy and the team at R3 Data recovery delivered a service with a proficiency I cannot praise enough. No downplay of the possible outcome, no drama either. I had a diagnostic less than a day after I delivered them my HDD. They manage to recover my data in less than 48H. R3 Data Recovery is the type of company you are very glad that exists, for circumstances you never want to occur.

Xav
I waited 2 years before getting my external hardrive assessed, but all communication from R3 was clear and not too technical, and they managed to salvage most of the data which was 20yrs of group family photos and very sentimental, the service was good and would use them again if I needed to. would highly recommend.

Many thank s for the review of R3 Data Recovery Ann Your enquiry "external hard drive failed. failure occurred during copying and reorganising folder data whilst copying photograph files from laptop" The external drive was actually a laptop drive in a casing which had sustained a drop and sever platter damage. The first rebuild was successful but had over 5000 damaged files out of 360,000. An additional rebuild with a fresh donor head stack further improved the recovery reducing the damaged files to around 1100 but crucially recovering what was needed.
Really pricey - but very effective. Impressive customer service from beginning to end. Would use again (but hope I don’t have to).

Thank you for the review Iain I can understand why you would see the cost of recovering a WD80EFZX-68UW8N0 but it was actually very cost effective and a fraction of what it would have cost to recover the whole RAID. You were unfortunate to lose one 8TB drive (SATA 128MB Cache WD80EFZX) in a RAID 0 array of 6 identical disks in a QNAP NAS Had it been a RAID 5 the loss of 1 disc would not have affected the data. Glad we could be of service. Andy and the team at R3 Data Recovery
