“Bought a set of drills from 1mm to 6mm in 0.1 increments. A couple of drill bits too long for metal case to shut readily - drill bit lengths should have been selected more carefully by UK Drills. Drill bits of small diameter failed to drill through brass sheet. Not impressed. Do not plan to buy from UK Drills again.”

“No problem with the company itself, their service was good. They had an efficient process in place to collect rejected items and refunded my money without a problem. Unfortunately the bulk of the items I bought were of very poor quality and had to be sent back.”

“Some of the drills have been sharpened with a negative rake on the drill points especially on the small drills and centre drills Would not buy any more off you”

“The web site did not show the drills which I am now informed I required for drilling into hard brick so I got the wrong ones. Your after sales service is excellent and agreed total refund. Many thanks”

“Ordered several drills in sizes 1mm to 6mm. Only tried one 3mm drill so far and it broke while drilling a pilot hole in PLASTERBOARD!. Very poor.”

“Unfortunately, upon delivery I found that the drill had been ground to horizontal rake and the leading points were broken off so it was unfit for boring holes but great for starting fires by friction. However, this was soon rectified by my bench grinder.”

“Very fast delivery and great price forssner bits. Had every size I needed. Only gave 2 stars as the 34x 400mm auger bit I ordered twisted almost immediately after only drilling 3 logs.”

“unfortunately the length of the drill stated includes the shank so when I thought i was buying 100mm sds drills they actually were only 50mm of drill and 50mm of shank. You ought to follow all the other suppliers when they indicate drill length as this is misleading. Cant be bothered with all the fuss of returning them. I just bought them elsewhere”

“i bought a 19mm drill bit to enlarge 16mm hole in a steel bracket, the cutting edge on the spiral of the bit wore away in seconds and it failed to cut into the steel.”

“I was disapointed with the 21pc Hand Tap Set I received. It was not as per the picture shown on the Web site. The holder for the taps is different from shown and the taps fit poorly in the holder. Additionally there was one 3mm Hand tap missing. the quality of the taps though is suitable and I am most pleased with this. My only issue is cosmetic. I would still order again from UK Drills as I have bought other items and been satisfied with the product. I would also like to see Imperial and BA tap set made available to purchase.”

“Order number 20197: 400mm drill bit arrived promptly but was 'bent' and did not run true in the drill. A replacement was the same. I was then told the drills were made in China or Germany so I asked for a German-made item and to check it in a drill before shipping. The third drill arrived and was the same as the other two. It would appear there is no quality control on this item by the manufacturer or UK Drills. The UK Drills website states - BEST QUALITY DRILL BITS GUARANTEED - which by my experience would seem to be a bit of an unsupported claim. Prompt delivery, pleasant people to deal with but I didn't get the product I was expecting.”

“I ordered what I thought were 8 x 1/8" drills and was surprised to find on their arrival I had by mistake ordered and paid for 80 drills. I assume I either did not fully understand your website layout or it was not as clear as it could be. Regards. John Hebard.”

“Dear Sirs, Further to receipt of the above detailed order I was not very pleased with the form of some of the drill bits received, in particular the 3.3 mm & the 4.2 mm drills. I had been drilling a number of 12.7mm square bars in my milling machine, preparing to tap 4mm threaded holes using the 3.3mm drills supplied by you. After drilling out these bars I proceeded to tap the 4mm threads only to find that the drilled holes were larger than 3.3mm. Subsequently the 4mm thread taps were just passing through the holes and not cutting a thread!!!! On inspection of the drill bits I found that the drill points were offset and incorrectly ground. (Please see attached photographs for detail) This has resulted in me now having to cut off the drilled sections of bar and re-drilling all 9 bars again. (thankfully there is sufficient length in the material to allow me to do this). With regards to the 2.5mm drill bits, they seem to be reasonable, but I will still re-sharpen then as a precaution. However on inspection of the 5mm drill bits I feel that the drill points are not quite correct and that these will all need to be re-sharpened, as they were purchased specifically for use in pre-drilling and tapping I do not want a repeat performance of the above. I hope that you will look at your quality control, or get your suppliers to do look at theirs. It is so frustrating to have to do all this rework. Regards Roger David”
