I recently visited a private clinic for ear wax removal for my father and was disappointed with the experience. Despite my father dropping olive oil in his ear for three days before the appointment, the audiologist was unable to fully remove the ear wax. She said the ear wax was stubborn and that she could only work on one ear at a time. She suggested my father drop olive oil in his ear for another five days before booking another appointment to have the other ear treated. This would cost an additional 50 pounds, on top of the initial 80 pound fee we had already paid. The audiologist mentioned that she had to close the clinic on time and could only spend a maximum of half an hour on each patient. My father was the last patient of the day and I felt that the audiologist was rushing to finish the appointment. She also mentioned that trying to remove the ear wax for longer could be harmful. Overall, I was not happy with the service provided by this clinic and would not recommend it to others. If you don't have enough money, be careful about visiting this clinic as you may end up paying extra for additional appointments.

Suction too noisy. Bleeding in my right ear. My ears still feels blocked and echoes when I try to touch it! Also The confirmation e-mail sent to me, did not have the post code and it took me a long time to find you, hence 5 mins late!.. The young girl rushed and caused more damage to my ears than before - some bleeding now! I demand that an experienced person looks at my ear washing done again as my ears are now blocked and washes it with less noisy pump? Or refund my money back. Pump was so noisy, my ears still ringing after 2 hours before f the ear wash. Thanks, Altan Aras

I was disappointed that a substantial amount of wax was left in both my external auditory meatuses. I think it should have removed - probably using irrigation, suction and careful use of hand instruments. It seems the job was only half done. I am not convinced by the argument that it is useful to leave some wax in the canal.

I write to advise that I was not completely satisfied with my treatment received during my 1/2 hour appointment for the removal of wax. The treatment started with the suction method which was used for 8 minutes for each ear. I was then advised that 'no further treatment could be done today' At this point I still could not hear. I was advised to apply more oil & book a return visit. As I don't live nearby & my husband has to take time off work to bring me I asked if some irrigation treatment could be tried. After some pleading from myself it was agreed that it would be tried. This was done for about 7 minutes per ear. At the end of the appointment the ears were not cleared but I could hear muffled sounds. I have suffered from earwax issues for 20 years & have been to various centres for wax removal treatment. Usually the treatment is carried out until I can actually hear, irrespective of the timeline taken to do so. When I left my appointment I still had hearing difficulties in both ears .

My appointment with Pindrop was in Harley Street, London. I was extremely disappointed with the facilities, especially this being Harley Street. The waiting room was very dark and dingy and one of the chairs wobbled when I placed my hand bag on it. This was eventually removed when I complained. Some of the tiles in the ceiling were missing, the walls needed a new coat of paint. I have never entered any waiting room in such disrepair!
