“After the shock of an email stating we had to pay the fitter on the day after the sales man gave us a total price which we thought included fitting as this was an optional extra we asked for. We were told origin salesmen never make mistakes so their is more than one god. The fitting was not added into the sales invoice total and could find no mention of having to pay the fitter on the day. The Doors were fitted by the fitter on the day in a professional manner he sheeted and kept the area clean while working. The only observation was the gap under the sill above damp proof course due to a taper which we have filled to prevent insect finding a home. We initially had trouble locking door and found the handle needs a little bit of force to lift it fully into its lock position.”

“We ordered a set of Origin bi-fold doors and five windows for our new extension. Within two weeks of placing our order the doors and windows were installed. Installation was handled very professionally and expertly carried out. The doors and windows are of a very high quality and look fabulous.”

“The doors are really well made and look great BUT Origin should choose their suppliers far more carefully. We have had a total nightmare with Silverline Windows - they are total cowboys and do absolutely no credit to Origin at all. I wish we'd chosen a different supplier but Origin recommended them as they were our nearest. So be warned - choose your supplier/installer carefully and don't just pick the one Origin suggest, ask for a couple to compare.”

“Overall I am pleased with the door - the solidity of the unit and ease of use are very good. I am though disappointed that one of the panels has a dirty mark on the inside of the glass. Whatever quality control check was undertaken fell short of the level required. It was when washing the door for the first time that I noticed this small but somewhat annoying problem that could only occur during manufacture.”

“The doors are super but the after sales service is very poor. They were fitted on the 5th and 6th July and now 2 months later we are still waiting for them to be properly sealed with silicone.”

“""The door snapped in the lock and now it cannot be closed. Origin on paper cover locking mechanism as part of 20 year guarantee but when things go bad they simply renege to honor their commitment. They want to charge now. Origin cut corners on small things that lead to great damage in the long run. Please do not order to avoid painful experience later.”

“British made, good quality and installation. Suggestions that could enhance your installation to complete the finish to 100 percent. Please see attached photos. 1. Infill needed to cover the gap at the top of the lock mechanism. 2. Locking twist knob has a sharp edge, this could be rounded off or the gap infilled. This is not proposed as a criticism but as a continuous improvement, please contact again should you want to discuss. Regards P.A.Johnson.”

“You may encounter delays so read the text on lead times on their website with a pinch of salt. The windows are of an extremely high quality. I don't doubt this. You need to choose your installer carefully as they will be your point of contact. In choosing Origin, we probably chose the best quality French windows (plus side panels) and side door for our Edwardian semi. (In fairness both were dual-colour which does incur extra delay.) But it took just under 12 weeks after our order was placed to the completion of the installation. This was a long way from what was first promised. Be prepared for that . . . but it should be worth the wait. They are top quality.”
