I found the maths and English courses I joined easy to follow. There is not a lot of ' long winded ' detail, but what is given is precise and to the point.

The tax accounting course was easy to understand and follow. However, the format of the course is just slideshows which gets tedious. There were numerous typos in the course and some of the end of module and final exam questions were about the 2013/2014 tax year but the course is about the 2016/2017 tax year therefore those questions were not related to the course material. This was a major downfall of the course and I am not sure that I would want to risk taking another course with this company in case this happens again.

The technical side of the course was bad, forcing the teaching of misinterpretation of technical details. A journal is used to correct an error within the general ledger, it is not another name for a book of prime entry! The examinations were poor quality, many of the questions were worded badly with grammatical errors as well as not even having a question or just generally an incomplete question (e.g. Q. Accrued Expense is expenses earned but not yet, A. true or false?)... a complete question would be nice. Some questions of the same type are identical but are answered differently making it impossible to determine the exact answer (e.g. Q. What does SI stand for? A. Sales Invoice - correct, compare that to Q. "What does PP stand for", A. Purchase Payment - incorrect its PP... no for the answer to be PP the question should be "What can Purchase Payment be abbreviated to?" Also with some, when answering a question that requires a typed answer it is highly likely that you will get it incorrect due to the available answers have the words capitalised, or partially capitalised (e.g. "Entity Principle" is incorrect whereas "entity Principle" is correct). With this it is impossible to determine where you actually have the correct answer. The examinations were a nightmare when coming across terrible questions. I reported the errors I found, which to be fair were only 6 out of around 30 questions... for my 4 final exams. Do not learn accountancy with Oplex. Extremely poor quality. I have no input for any other courses.
