Bob came early, assessed that new thermostat is required. He was reassuring & will order it. But your £160 call out charge is very expensive.

Good service and response rate Disappointed the quote I was given was excluding VAT

Hi, Many thanks for your review. I just checked the job and can see that the booking was made online and the quoted was: £75 + VAT (Excluding Parts) kind regards, North London Appliance Repairs
Man arrived early He was quite short and abrupt - very concerned about payment as I stated my landlord was going to pay after. Quite short and abrupt on the phone to them also. Job completed suitably but customer service wasn’t great.

Hi Miss Chloe Hendy, The booking was made online by you and in the section where you can specify that its a rental property and the landlords makes the payment you selected NO! "Landlord/Agency: No" As its stated on our booking form, we ask that you make full payment to the engineer at the time of the appointment using cash, debit or credit card. The technician who arrived seemed reasonable in his appraisal of the situation. The company’s website needs an overhaul, as it terminates half way through booking a technician, I almost went somewhere else. I phoned instead.

Quite expensive just to tell me that I need to replace my oven with a new one. I’d rather have saved these 50 quid to invest in a new oven.

Tumble dryer part installed - one hour after engineer departed - tumble dryer not working again. Also, on booking I had said the oven needed a new door seal but the engineer knew nothing about it and did not have one. 4 days have passed and still awaiting a call from engineer on the ordering of new part for the tumble dryer.

Kameron who came and did the work was great, on time, friendly and efficient. However it was difficult getting a slot. Booked one online and no one showed up, tried the phone, had to leave a message and no one returned the call. Got through on 3rd attempt and booked a slot which was fine.

Good but put me on the spot wrt tip... this cost should be made clear up front as its not normal to tip workmen.

Firstly I requested an invoice so I hope that will be sent? Secondly he wasn’t very able and kept puffing and panting and complaining about pushing the washing machine back in its place .... I told him that I had pulled it out AND pushed it back 3 times when trying to fix it myself and was he now seriously suggesting leaving it so that I did it myself when I am frail, thin and 70 years old! Thirdly when I paid the bill on my card he asked me for extra money for himself. I don’t think that’s very professional and I told him it was inappropriate to ask for money on a job

The office didn't handle my case well, they said they couldn't find a part, which I ended up sourcing myself (I was able to find the part from various different sellers oddly, why couldn't they?). It felt as though I had to chase them for everything, rather than the other way around. As far as their actual technicians go, the first one couldn't resolve the issue, the 2nd one (Ionut Andries) even though he struggled to find the fault at first, he spent a full 3 hours in my house and fixed my oven fully in the end. So a definite thumbs up for Ionut and his perseverance. Overall experience from the company so so.... At least my oven works again...

3 stars for honesty- he told me the drier was not worth fixable BUT it worked a bit before he started trying to fix it and now it definitely doesn't work at all!!!!!

HI - engineer arrived promptly to fix faulty oven , replaced fan and elemnt .unfortunately it only worked breifly before fault reoccurred . he reattended (again pronmptly ) and did some rewiring. again only worked breifly before same fault. reattended id some more rewiring but fault reoccurred yet agin Declined to re visit opining that we needed new oven so although prompt in visiting/revisiting problem was not fixed despite some cost involved (2 parts plus visit fee) so a bit disappointing outcome . would obviously have ben preferable to "condemn " oven on first viist .
Helpful Report
At the first visit, I was told a very expensive new part was required and would have to be ordered. A few days later, the engineer asked to come back, saying he now thought there might be a different fault, after all. There was - and my total bill for the two visits was just one call-out fee. He never explained why he hadn't checked for the real fault in the first place - but I was grateful and very much appreciated his honesty. In short, I'd use North London Appliance Repairs again.
