“I gave a 5 star review for a couple reasons but that being said and done, I think this process could offer a little more protection for the seller to be really perfect. The reasons why I gave 5 stars is mainly that the guys worked very hard to find a buyer at a fair price for my car. The price I sold at was in-line with a very well known car buyer website but slightly higher than what main dealerships had offered. So in the end, I was happy, although having entered a 'contract to sell' to the buyer that they had found, I realised that I had no financial protection should that buyer decide to pull out. The buyer does have to pay a break fee to Motorway, the seller also has to pay a break fee to Motorway should anything be materially different from what is promised/photographed on the buy/sell contract. I had another buyer for my car at the same price who was dragging his heels a little, so when I then agreed to sign the contract with Motorway, I lost my other buyer of course, as per the contract terms. In my opinion, the buyer should pay a small % non-refundable amount to the seller, this cash could be held in an account away from both buyer and seller until arbitration. My buyer took 13 days from contract to collection which of course left me wondering at times if I had made the right decision. That also being said, I would definitely use Motorway again as I believe there is a space for them in the market to tighten the spread between natural buyer and seller or finding a skilled trade buyer to back his view of being able to sell on a car for a profit.”
