My debt management plan started in 2011 with Blackberry, and Money plus, I think are the third company to manage it. I suppose on the plus side they have kept kept my creditors at bay although, they've been compensated (nearly £500 per year) which I dont have a problem with. I suppose my issue (following my last review) is being dictated to by people who sound as if they've just left school on what i spend on haircuts, christmas presents etc. Unlike the glossy adverts and many of your reviews, i specifically DID NOT FEEL in control (quite the opposite.) Luckily i was in a position to clear my debts and take back control without answering to a 16 year old. I also didnt like being asked (repeatedly) about priority debts which incidently Money Plus, ive never been in debt with and quite frankly is none of your bloody business! Even when I cleared the debt in full i was asked, where I got the funds from? Again what right do you have to ask? When I challanged this, I was told something spurious about a duty of care..... Now maybe some people cant be trusted to manage their own affairs, and need this patronising level of interfering, but surely in this day and age that one size fits all, "this is how we do things" approach went out of fashion 30 years ago, and if you're offering a service it needs to be tailor made for the client. Its our DMP after all, not yours. After reading some of your smug "answer for everything" replies to complaints, dont bother responding to mine, im well rid of you. Wish i had done it years ago. But maybe you might want to think on some of my comments.

We are sorry that you feel this way. We are required to ask all of our customers about their incomings and outgoings, priority debts and assets under the regulations that apply to all firms who give debt advice. You can find the FCA regulations here https://www.handbook.fca.org.uk/handbook/CONC/8/ With regards to settling your debts, Money Laundering regulatory requirements then come into play which means that we must establish the source of funds for large transactions. We apologise if this has at times felt patronising and will take your comments on board.

After paying back my creditors for 5 1/2 years i am now back to square one, because somebody has fraud against my name and did not tell the IVA or me and they accepted the IVA and now want their money back and I have to fight this because the the IVA, have taken their word, should I have been advised to go into an IVA, I think we know the answer to that and I am not going to take this laying down.

No statements trying to increase my initial monthly payment by 8 times, asking for information that has been sent then losing said information, getting expenditure wrong can't add up incoming and outgoings and think 50%of £331 is £231

You are the an absolute joke of a company.you should be trying to help people in debt. Why send me a 5 page letter explaining how you did nothing to help me and just pass the blame on to other companies.you never told me what was going on with my debt I was the one that kept telling you. Then you send me a leaflet on how to complain when I already have. Just cos I paid you off you say you cant do anything. I am so happy not to be dealing with your joke of a company. Thanks you for over charging me and give me really bad service.

Hi Adam, We're sorry that you had cause to complain at the end of your plan. We have received a confirmation of incorrect balances from one of your creditors, which we advised we were waiting for in our complaint response. We called you on Friday to discuss this matter and the refund that is due to you, however the call went unanswered so a voicemail message was left. Once the refund is received from the creditor this will be forwarded to you. One of our advisors will also call you to confirm this today.

There are many different ways to work at getting out of debt, including managing things on your own. However, doing it yourself isn't for everyone and instructing someone to negotiate charges and agree to re-payment proposals, offer advice and support, give peace of mind and a break from communications with creditors can make a huge difference. Plus, the average plan from MoneyPlus saves over £210 per month in interest & charges. Everyone is different and wants or needs different levels of support. The most important thing is finding a solution that works for you.

Having the same problems as previous reviewer! I was told my plan would be completed in May now I’m being told I’ve got another 5 months to pay! The balance on the portal hadn’t changed for months despite paying £375 a month and has amazingly gone up again from when I last looked at it last week! How is this when I have never missed a payment in 8 years? When I ring I get told different amounts still owing & every time that amount goes up. I have paid an awful lot of money in fees over the years & no one can tell me anything so what exactly have I been paying for? I am now having to look into this matter & take professional advice at extra cost to me.

Hi, we’re really sorry to hear you’re not happy, we always try our best to provide accurate information on balances but this does rely on creditors to send up to date figures. The different amounts shown on your Portal will relate to your Estimated Debt Remaining (you can find an explanation of this if you click or hover over it) and your Last Confirmed Balances. We haven’t been able to find you in our database with the information left here, but if you would like someone to go through these amounts with you, please call us on 0800 988 2318 and we will be more than happy to discuss it further.

I have just phoned up to see if I could pay off my plan today. I have been told that the creditors will have to be contacted to get a price to see how much I will have to pay. when I log on to my account it says 3 more months left that's 3 payments, I pay £305 a month so that makes it £915 for 3 payments. But then it says £1,003, then the estimated left is £1,383. I got told on the phone its about £1,428. That's four different amounts. I don't understand how you cannot get a final figure? I am paying you how ever much a month for your service and it doesn't seem like you are doing anything unless I contact you. When I took that plan out I got told 8 months I will be debt free. I got told a month before it finished I still have 6 months left I cannot see how you can’t get this information any quicker. 9 months into the plan and still no final figure and i’m getting told £1,400 left now i’m starting to think i’m never going to get out of debt. I send messages phone them up and the always find away to put off helping me out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They sound nice at the start them after that they don’t want to know.

Hi Adam, Thanks for letting us know about these discrepancies, one of our team is looking into your account in more detail and will get the bottom of why you’re being shown different figures. Gathering balances can be tricky, we need to make contact with each creditor and wait for them to get back to us before we can confirm the exact amount. This can mean that some balances are more up to date than others. Waiting for confirmed balances is especially important when helping with final settlements to ensure you don’t under or overpay. We’re sorry that you don’t think you’ve had good service so far, we’ll do our very best to help with your settlement.

Carried out my review, no mention that the fee would be increased. So I ended up paying 12p extra to my creditors. Also my payment plan has been increased which means instead off finishing in two years time Now it will be there years Feed have increased from £25 to £30 to £47. So being at the lower end my contribution to my creditors has gone down which means my plan will take longer to pay off Money plus poor service

Hi, we’re sorry that we weren’t able to help you sooner. We’ve been experiencing high levels of calls and although we do advise that a return call can take up to 72 hours, messages left within working hours are usually returned a lot sooner. We believe that you have now spoken to a member of the team, and hope that your query is resolved. Thanks, MoneyPlus

I left once I was forced to join them because of a takeover The fees everyone pays is different, in my case £40 but my partner with the same monthly payment as me, pays £30. I questioned it and was told its not up for discussion. Dreadful company who take advantage of people in hard and desperate circumstances.

Hi, we’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy. Unfortunately, the Financial Review is an FCA regulatory requirement on all of our plans. It helps us to make sure we're still giving you the right advice. We understand that it can be frustrating at times and are looking at ways to speed up the process but it is an important step towards completing your plan. Please feel free to contact us on info@moneyplus.com should you wish to know more.

I was paying you a fee of £44 per month, to pay into accounts that were at £0...... and charged by you for almost a year to actually end up " in credit" on two accounts with the Royal Bank of Scotland. Paying your fee to save my own money, when I believed I was paying off DEBT... just doesn't sound right to me. If I hadn't taken matters into my own hands to clear my debts recently, I'd still be paying you now, quite shocking really and dispointing aswell, when I put my financial worries in your hands for quite some time based on the reviews you have on your website, I believed I was in safe hands. I feel very let down.
