“The wheelchair we were promised when first booking was not available as it was sent out on an emergency. Therefore, we were told a replacement would arrive on the morning of departure. This replacement was taped up around the arms which looked disgusting and very unprofessional very uncomfortable. At times she didn’t feel safe, the feet pads would not stay up obstructing her access in and out of the chair. The chair itself was very rickety and not fit for purpose. Very poor for a 10 day holiday.”
Hi Pauline,
We're really sorry to hear that you felt the hire wheelchair wasn't up to standard on this occasion.
As a mobility retail specialist, we predominantly specialize in ensuring we guide & advise our customers to make the right choice for them when it comes to purchasing any mobility equipment from ourselves, we've been doing it for over 20 years 😀 I hope you can see this from our many 5 star reviews ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In recent years we have tried to accommodate an increasing demand for short term hire of essential mobility equipment for our customers who are not ready to commit to purchasing a more long term solution.
We can ensure you, however, our hire wheelchair & scooter fleet is regularly serviced and quality checked to ensure it meets safety standards.
Despite this, if you're unhappy, we're unhappy, please call our customer support team on 0800 043 3342 and select option 9 where our team will be more then happy to discuss this further with you and arrange for the hire payment of £40 to be returned to you.
Warm regards

“Poor customer service almost aggressive
When paying I had to say my card details out loud over the phone with total strangers listening
Tried to sell me new batteries for £125
Cost me £70 from eBay
Work great”
“Hi good morning I’ve got ripped off the charge me £30 for a puncher I was very disappointed are you still paying £15 for a puncher on a mobility scooter now they’re charging me £30 ridiculous not happy at all”
“Dear Adam was absolutely fantastic! He was wonderful and thank goodness Adam was covering for staff in the Loughborough shop when i called in. Adam sets an exemplary example of how to satisfy a customer's needs (which is your business). My mobility-restricted father is very grateful indeed to dear Adam. Very regretfully the member of the Loughborough staff (not Steve; Steve was really nice and helpful) was horrible.
Your link below is faulty. Communication was by phone with wonderful Adam and in person at the shop.
You have discontinued the Gordon Ellis grab handles so you force us to shop elsewhere because, in comparison, the Atlantic handle is far inferior.”
“I bought my first wheelchair from the nuneaton store as I have got m.e. also known as chronic fatigue syndrome and my mobility is poor and I get tired quickly.
The lady was helpful and helped us to choose a chair which was 175 pounds. We used the chair for an hour or so around town and the handle kept collapsing. We took this back and got it fixed.
The next time I used it was three days later and the same thing kept happening. We took it back and managed to get it changed but the response was we can only do it once and you get what you paid for.
If a 175 pound wheelchair is acceptable to do this then I dont know how much you would have to spend to get a good working one.
Since then I have used the chair three times and the breaks hardly work, the frame seems weak and wonky on folding and to be honest I think it is a lot of money when you dont have any at all but need something like this.
I can safely say I wont be using this store again.”
