“The taste was good but we did find the cake very crumbly making it difficult to eat when people were receiving it at the end of the meal.”

“Cake is lovely but Royal Mail are totally hopeless. They notified me they would be delivering on 4 consequtive days. When they eventually did the box was badly damaged - as was the cake. I now have only 2 days to eat the cake before its best by date. Same happened on my last order.”

“Cake great but delivery was delayed and missed my guests. ☹️ The cake is moist and very tast. Ordering was fine but the delivery date slipped by two days and therefore missed the celebration day itself and my guests.”

Regretfully the Named Day Courier service is not an option due to geographical location of delivery. I'm sorry the iced fruit cake missed your guests. Hello Patrick Thanks for getting in touch. I had replied to your query earlier this month via our "help" button - apologies if I wasn't clear in answering your question back on 9th May. Cake Club deliveries are made once per month and despatch on the first full week of the month. “Service and delivery was excellent. Cake well packed and travelled well. However we have been buying the wonderful cherry cakes for many years from Meg Rivers. However, this last one was a huge disappointment. It was extremely dry and crumbly and the ground almonds were not finely ground as in the past. It was the almonds that used to give the wonderful texture but this was not evident on this occasion. On a plus side there were plenty of cherries as usual, but overall the cake was not of the usual standard.”

“The lemon icing was rather overbearing and too sweet. Although it had to some extent penetrated the upper layer of cake, which was therefore quite moist and lemony, the cake beyond this was quite dtry and heavy.”

Hi There Bick and thank you for getting in touch. I can see from your order history that you placed it after midday on Friday 22nd (our despatch cutt off is midday) and you also didn't pay for a Saturday service, named weekday only. Had you called we could have upgraded to a Saturday service if the courier hadn't already collected that day. I hope the cake was enjoyed when it arrived, best wishes, Jess

“Disappointed with the mince pies which were the main reason for my order. In my opinion insufficient mince in them and not very tasty as a result. Christmas tart was rather sickly sweet for my taste. Christmas cake a shortbread biscuits both nice though.”

“I have been ordering Meg Rivers cakes for several years. There was never a problem with the delivery. But this year the cake was delivered to the wrong address. Fortunately 3 days later a neighbour called to deliver the cake. I understand the drivers are under enormous pressure at this time of the year. We thought the parcel had been stolen. But in the end all was well. And my friends are already enjoying the cake. Best wishes Mrs U.Cross”
