I loved thes cakes. I was cautious because I often find fudge cakes to be much too sweet. These were perfect. They were as delicious as they looked, and were beautifully packed despite being a Bakery Blunder!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your ginger cake but sorry the Coffee & Walnut didn't meet expectations. Reading our notes on your order I can see you paid for the wrong delivery method and therefore your cakes didn't arrive when you were expecting them. Customers are always welcome to call us if they're unsure on delivery options. Kindest wishes, Jess

The cake arrived without the tin that was paid for. When queried the response implied that I was possibly mistaken as the ''traceability' software suggested it was sent! Also the cake itself was very dry, but the response email did not acknowledge my complaint

Hi there Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you didn't enjoy the cake. A replacement gift tin was sent as soon as we were aware it had been missed.

Very disappointed definitely not worth the money Did not like them, I'm afraid my friends didn't either. Extortionate price.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Frangipane Mince Pies, Carol. I'm sorry to hear that they were not to your liking.

The cake was dense, no flavour. It wasn’t fresh either. All in all, a great disappointment!

Hello Paul, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the cakes. To open an investigation or complaint we start with photographs of the product to establish where there might be an issue. These photos help our production manager establish any potential cause of dryness, wetness etc. I hope you understand this is simply part of our investigation. Kind Regards Alice

Hello Mrs Chowns Thank you for getting in touch. On investigation I can see that you selected and paid for WEEKDAY DPD when in fact it seems you were looking for a SATURDAY service. The selection of the SATURDAY service would have ensured the parcel arrived on your expected date. Best wishes

I asked for an email to tell me when your traditional brandy puddings would be back in stock, it went to junk but by the time I saw it and phoned (only a few hours later), all had been sold. An admittedly very pleasant lady told me that the chances were very remote that there would be any more available and strongly suggested that the gin puddings were the best alternative since the only way more puddings would be released would be for hampers to be split open - and that was very unlikey. I received them and on the same day got another email to say more puddings are in stock. I'm massively disappointed, especially having paid a huge amount for postage (which the lady said was because I live in Scotland - news to me that Royal Mail charges more depending on where you are in the UK. Overall, really really underwhelmed. To be honest I'd rather these puddings were collected and my money was refunded :(

Hello - we always try to resolve issues if you contact us direct, and I am sorry you have had an issue. We did indeed list a small number of puddings as a restock but they sold fast on a first come first served basis to keep it fair for all waiting. In regards to shipping charges we are charged significantly more for parcel delivery by Royal Mail to certain postcodes even on the mainland within Scotland. I hope you enjoy your Gin Puddings and are able to try our Brandy option next year. Kindest, Customer Care

I paid 9.50gbp for it to arrive on 9.11.24, but it arrived 12.11.24. I emailed twice asking where it was and for a refund on the specific day delivery payment. This was a birthday cake for a birthday on 9.11.24 I could have ordered it sooner, but assumed the extra payment meant delivery would occur. The delivery left it at the front porch of the flats even though I was in and the I wrote that the top floor was the safe place. The cake texture was dryer than hoped for which perhaps links to the fact that it arrived 3 days late. I am disappointed with the response to my emails, the lateness, the delivery and the cake texture.

I would normally have given 5 stars but because you have not answered my emails concerning query over whether to request a cake tin or not was not met. I have repeatedly mentioned that I was charged for a cake tin when ordering simnel cake whci I did not want. It is not the money that bothers me it is the lack of communication. Sorry but that is how it is

Hello Sheena. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We've only had one recent communication from you about scones which we replied to within 20 minutes. Occasionally we miss emails if they go into spam but using the Help button on the website or calling us (01608 682858) are still the best ways of getting in touch with any queries you might have.

Appalling presentation. Rosebuds not pink but beige Ridiculously sized tin

Hi Lesley As I believe my colleague explained the rose buds are a natural product and as such the colours vary. The tin was the smallest most suitable for this already gift wrapped cake. Kindest, Jess

I was not happy to pay extra for a cake tin to ensure cake arrived in good condition. I did not notice that you automatically sent it in a cake tin.

Hi Stuart, we do send in boxes at customer risk (when messaged ahead of despatch) however there is no cost saving for this as we have to undo our protective packaging and add additional measures to keep the Simnel Cake as safe as possible. Kindest wishes, Jess

We are very disappointed with your last delivery talk about Minny cake which cost £4 and the postage on it was £5 We have had some lovely cakes from you in the past but the postage is killing your trade

Dear Mrs Field, sadly that's the cost of post and packing and sending in a safe and reliable way across the country. We do offer collection if you are local and passing. Shipping is also free on orders over £100. With best wishes, Customer Care

I cannot send photos because it has been in the top of my warming oven of the Aga as it was undercooked and then because the consistency of the cake was full of large pieces of fruit and it has now been put in the bin because no-one wants to eat it. The reason I have ordered this particular cake regularly is because I use to make a Dundee cake every week for my family and then my mixer broke and as I am now well into my eighties I decided I did not want to make them anymore and your "Almond Fruit Cake" was the nearest to it that I could find. It always arrived with a lovely golden colour but this was pale and certainly not up to the standard of your usual cake.

We did not receive either of the cakes ordered and although the refund was paid promptly, it was obviously not a great experience.
