“I ordered a Valentines chocolate cake. It was delicious, as well it might be considering the huuuge price. The only thing was, it was tiny. It was like a cake for a dolls’ tea party. I know it probably gave the dimensions in the blurb but who reads that? I just assumed it was a proper size cake not a miniature! My husband was disappointed with it. We had been looking forward to having a slice each on Valentine’s Day then eating the rest over a few days, so I shelled out extra for the tin. But there was none left - just enough for one piece each. We had your Xmas cake every year which is expensive, but delicious and normal size. I feel a mug now and not sure I’ll buy again. I’ve given up stars for the fabulous quality but the teeny dimensions left a bad taste. Really, it have cost you that much more to make a proper size cake? You can either be a luxury cake maker or crimp, not both! At least I’m not divorced but I had to buy my hungry hubby another cake on 15th!”

Morning Katherine, Thanks for your review and I am thrilled to hear the cake was delicious. As you say weights and dimensions are listed on the website. The price is based on the fact that this was a very limited edition run, the cost of ingredients, packaging and the skills of our baking team who hand make and decorate, wrap and ship every product by hand. “Sorry but the small stems left in the fruit before cooking were really annoying and were like pieces of grit and my teeth didn't appreciate that at all. The cake itself was moist and very enjoyable.”

“When the cakes arrived they tasted a bit stale. Not as soft or as fluffy as Id hoped. Dont know when they were made but they were not as soft or as airy as I'd hoped.. Best Carole Malone”

“Tin lovely and cakes really nice, sadly though a bit dry and ginger one was very overpowering. However, husband also ordered Christmas cake, shortbread biscuits and mince pies and these were absolutely outstanding. Shortbread was melt in the mouth, best ever and mince pies beautiful and cake lovely. Would order again, as understand very busy time of year.”

“I am unable to review the Christmas cake that I ordered back in late October. The reason being that the cake failed to arrive as the couriers dpd would not deliver as the item was perishable! Reluctant to order again to be honest .”

“I received my order in good time. However the biggest of 3 tins was damaged; 2 dents in the lid. I phoned you and spoke to Jessica (?) who told me to send all the details for the order and not to worry about returning the goods. I was told I’d receive a new set of cake tins but am still waiting.”

“I ordered this as a gift for an elderly family member. I’m in Australia - the online ordering process was simple and the product was delivered on time, however the card with our message and names were missing so when the gift was delivered the recipient had no idea who the gift was from. I had to follow up to let her know it was from us which was not ideal.”

“The cake is very delicious, but the delivery options are not very intuitive. Picked a Saturday delivery on the calendar, but I didn’t realize that you then have to manually choose Saturday delivery in the next step too. This should be automatically updated when Saturday is chosen!”

“Used to be able to give a preferred delivery date without paying for named day delivery on the understanding no guarantee that would arrive on the preferred date. So this time I paid for named day delivery which was ignored.”
