“When I ordered, your employee got the day wrong, they thought 27th August was on a Sunday, not a Thursday. However they eventualy got the date correct, but said they would not charge postage, but you did charge postage. However the cake was delivered at the right time , it could not have been more perfect, because I was actually on the telephone to my son when the cake was delivered and what a lovely cake. Thank you.”

“Speedy delivery; well packaged & protected; delicious cake that was much enjoyed by my mum & her 80th birthday lunch guests. Many people commented on quality, taste & texture of cake. Only needed half the cake to give 22 people a finger slice of rich cake after substantial lunch & it was much enjoyed.”

“The cake was delicious but in size a joke for £38. Far too tiny for that money and I can verify purchasing from other companies who make equally delicious cakes for around the same price but the size is 3 times larger. A great shame.”

“I have used Meg Rivers several times but on this occasion I am very disappointed. The sugar craft roses are a brand called Culpitt and cost £14. They are available online for £8.50. I was expecting something more bespoke for the price not a product I could buy practically anywhere.”

“Carrot cake was delicious and went done a treat with those who had some. Unfortunately the icing had all stuck to the plastic wrapping making its appearance look rather messy for a birthday surprise and the box had been knocked about transit by the delivery company.”

“I didn’t really like the flavour of the brownies or chocolate cake. It tasted like a bulk cooked item, rather than small batch cooking? The flavour to me tasted little artificial. The cookies were delicious, the hat and candles lovely, I would have liked to substitute the chocolate cake for a lemon one to see if we enjoyed that better.”

Dear Anonymous, Sorry you didn't enjoy the chocolate cake or brownie. I can assure you we only bake in small batches by hand. We do use coffee in our brownie which brings out the taste of the Belgian chocolate, not to everyone's taste. The chocolate cake uses the same Belgian chocolate. We can swap out the Chocolate Cake for Lemon when requested by phone or email. Kindest, Jess

“What a discovery! Beautiful cakes all handmade with care just as you would yourself if you had the time. Cakes are delicious and not overly sweet as some can be. Also ordered the cookbook which is full of delicious uncomplicated recipes. Would make a great gift for someone who enjoys baking. The cake tins also purchased are lovely and remind me of my mums cake tins. Everything is beautifully packaged. All in all a superb experience and I will be shopping again.”
