Really helpful staff, wedding cake arrived on time & looked lovely. We had the fruit cake with alcohol, marzipan and icing and it was absolutely delicious!

The Simnel Cake is a wonderful Easter treat - and looked forward to every year. It's so good that one cake is never enough...

Dear Iris, due to the location of your recipient in the Highlands of Scotland we were limited in our delivery options. Royal Mail is best solution and they can be speedy or slow so with a birthday cake take the initiative to send a day or two earlier with the belief that sooner is better than missing the big day. I hope he enjoyed his cake and early birthday gift. Kindest, Jess

Appalling presentation. Rosebuds not pink but beige Ridiculously sized tin

Hi Lesley As I believe my colleague explained the rose buds are a natural product and as such the colours vary. The tin was the smallest most suitable for this already gift wrapped cake. Kindest, Jess

Lovely cake. Well packed and easy to assemble and tasted delicious. Really disappointed with the cake suppliers we met at wedding shows all seemed intent on selling the most expensive "artisan" cake when we just wanted something simple and your cake was perfect.

First time I have used Meg Rivers Artisan Bakery. Certainly won't be the last! Ordered a simnel cake to be delivered to my famiy at Easter. It was delivered in good time for Easter and was left in a safe place. I was kept fully informed at every stage of the transaction and ... most important of all ... the family said it was a wonderfu surprise and tasted delicious. The free gift tin was also very welcome. Thank you.

Bought the rich fruit cake in the tin. Kept well for the two weeks before opened for our special occasion and still tastes good three weeks later. May seem expensive but excellent quality, keeps well and as you only need a small piece at a time, the cake goes a long way.

It was very easy to order the cake (not easy to choose just one though!) and it came on time beautifully packed. I ordered the Coffee and Walnut cake and it was delicious. Just enough coffee and sweetness.

My only comment was the delivery. Having requested the date when I knew someone to be at home, the delivery was attempted twice a few days before. The cake was very well received and presented.

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. From your order I can see you selected Royal Mail as your delivery method. As stated on the website only when DPD is selected can we offer a specific delivery date. So please to hear that the cake was enjoyed, best wishes, Jess

The cake was for my mother in-law's 102nd birthday. She scoffed it all in short order, being a chocoholic, so I guess it was good! It also was delivered within 2 days of the order, so very happy.

I was not happy to pay extra for a cake tin to ensure cake arrived in good condition. I did not notice that you automatically sent it in a cake tin.

Hi Stuart, we do send in boxes at customer risk (when messaged ahead of despatch) however there is no cost saving for this as we have to undo our protective packaging and add additional measures to keep the Simnel Cake as safe as possible. Kindest wishes, Jess

I am a new customer and a very happy one. The Simnel cake was super and enjoyed by our village church congregation after service, so much so we decided to have cake after our following service. For this we chose Orange and Almond which was a huge success, so much so that we will do this again after our Service in May. A real treat!

I sent this dinner cake to my daughter who shared it with her hosts at Easter. They all said it was exceptional and delicious.

Nothing like it used to be. The cakes are baked in paper not with a nice finished edge. They are pale with fork pins - not aesthetically pleasing. Don’t get them out the freezer with pride anymore. Have to do something with the top to cover it up. Disappointing developments. Chris Hesketh Harrogate.

Dear Chris, Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. Some, but not all of our cakes are baked in the cases to enable us to add as much topping as possible - for example the Orange & Almond cake has lots of drizzle which gets left if the cake tin without a case. Our carrot, coffee & walnut and new lemon cake all have a topping that we be more generous with with the edge of a case to work to. Most cakes are baked without the case and some we use a case after baking to make it easier and less sticky to pack! Fork pins I think you're referring too are how we get the drizzle into the likes of the Orange & Almond Cake whilst it is still warm from the oven. Kindest wishes, Jess
