“Meg Rivers baked and delivered my Sons wedding cake. It was Fruit on the bottom and Lemon Madera on the top two layers. It was the best cake we have ever eaten. Just Superb!! Delivery and presentation were perfect. Thank you so much.”

“These ywo cakes were sent as an anniversary present to my sister and brother-in-law. My sister reports that they arrived safely on the specified day, and are absolutely delicious! I am 200+ miles away; so cannot have a slice myself. My phone call too Meg Rivers was answered immediately by someone who was extremely helpful,”

“Inevitably any review is down to personal taste but I would prefer a lighter sponge that is not so sweet to provide a contrast to the tangy stem ginger.”

I can recommend the Lemon Cake which has a lighter texture sponge and a wonderful lemon drizzle and lemon topping if you are looking for something lighter to balance the sweetness. “Everything arrived on time and was very beautiful but the cake was too crumbly and dry. To be honest I ordered it as a standby for a cake I made myself and my own one was judged better. I was hoping for thick, luxurious rich cake but that’s not what we hit. Sorry.”

“This is a brilliant (yummy) excuse to try different varieties. As a result I ordered a delicious orange almond instead of our favourite ginger cake for my next party. The tin is also fabulous and very useful. Always prompt delivery and great customer service.”

“We ordered a 3 tier cake for our wedding from Meg Rivers, top two layers were sponge and the bottom was a rich fruitcake, having a wedding cake sent by post was slightly concerning but it arrived as booked on time and very well packaged. The cakes themselves were delicious and looked beautiful with the small white icing roses that were sent to arrange on top with the aid of some edible glue, also in the parcel. Communication with Meg Rivers was excellent, the cakes were gorgeous and moist and delicious. Highly recomment.”
