“The Marloe GMT watch is a very handsome and stylish layout of form and function that I have owned and have enjoyed for the last couple of weeks. At 42 mm diameter, I was concerned it might feel too large for my relatively small circumference 5.25 inch wrist. However, the the flat crystal is atop a champhered or sloping bezel while the underside is also nicely rounded so that it sits comfortably on the wrist and the sloping upper profile feels streamined and does not catch clothing. I did not want a chunky dive watch look and the Marloe outer bezel is delicately narrow, creating the illusion of a smaller watch and is provided with a finely brushed finish. The bezel is pleasantly uncluttered and only every second hour is discretely enumerated along with dots in between for the odd hours. The lume is good and easy to read while accuracy on my watch seems to be about 3 seconds gain per day. My experience with spring bars at the lugs is limited to an Omega moonwatch where the spring bars became very shaky after a while and I drilled and fitted the lugs with solid bars instead. I chose two straps for the Marloe GMT. The Nytech seemed stiff at first but after three days became very comfortable, like wearing in leather shoes. The spring bars are very snugly fitted in this strap with the bars being well supported by the strap material. The Nato strap is continuous so that there is less strain on the spring bars, and, should one bar fail, the watch will be held by the remaining bar and not lost. It was a delight to discover a 'local' watchmaker and the quality of this product is everything I could expect. I also bought a delightful 36 mm Tay Itten for my wife and she is very pleased with it and finds her Nytech strap very comfortable. Neither of us have had automatic watches before, so it a novel experience not to have to remember to wind the mechanism. We are very pleased!”

I purchased the watch at 12:15am Sunday morning (Sydney, Australia) and received the watch by Tuesday afternoon, which was incredibly fast. I even got a an email from founder Oliver in response to my positive feedback. The unboxing was a great experience, from the magazine and booklet for my Spectre, to the individual card with details about my watch. I actually put it all back and let my watch collector friend have the same experience. I joined the Facebook Marloe Watch Company Fans page, which feels like a special group of watch enthusiasts who welcome everyone and anyone and share their Marloe watches with great pride. As for my Spectre, it is awesome and just feels right. I am just beginning my watch collecting journey and I wanted to start with something unique and special and I could not have chosen better. I particularly loved the fact that I choose the number of my watch which matches my birth date, which makes it all the more special and unique. I seriously doubt that this will be my only Marloe watch purchase and I look forward to continuing this journey with Oliver, Gordon and the Marloe loving community.”
