“Local Building Surveyors (LBS) provided estimates from two surveying firms for a HomeBuyer Report with Valuation. Both firms were contacted and informed of the referral from LBS, but the prices quoted were significantly higher than the estimates provided by LBS. In one case, the difference was nearly £300, a mark-up of 70% on the original estimate. LBS has therefore completely failed to make the process easier, and I have since found an alternative surveying firm through another comparison site at a much more reasonable and accurately-quoted price.”

“Beware of the online quotes. The actual quotes given by the surveyors contacted were 2-3 times those given initially online. Otherwise gave me details of several good possibilities.”

“Provided quotes quickly and had many reasonable options, much cheaper than I'd been quoted over the phone by a couple of other local surveyors. Ended up with a surveyor who were excellent and offered a good timescale despite the busy time in the industry and then a few days later offered me a cancellation survey appointment, result!”

“Rather a waste of time. I'm looking for someone to check a long garden wall for possible tree root damage. All the replies I had offered me a full building survey, it was as if no-one had actually read my enquiry and I was simply receiving an automated response. Didn't work for me.”
