“i used Local Building Surveyors to locate a company to request a RICS Builders' Survey. The site promptly provided the information of one firm local to my new property. I requested a quote, which was acceptable. However, due to COVID-19, all firms in the area were very busy. I booked a survey from the company LBS provided, and due to a cancellation the original date offered was brought forward. I yet await the competion of the survey.”

“Property valued a £1650-£1665, by comparison with recent sales within the postcode area which did not take into consideration the communal green garden, nor the situation overlooking the Exe with unique views. The surveyor concentrated on the absence of en-suite facilities, absence of central heating, granite work surface in the kitchen, and the generally old-fashioned finish, including the sitting room which was refurbished less than a year ago. Admittedly the place needs a lot of money spent on it. The purpose of the independent valuation was that it was required in the lease and should have been binding between myself ang the ground landlord. He could have insisted on the price, but even he thought it unreasonably low, and I am now in the process of selling it to him for £24,000. I paid for the valuation, which, quite frankly, could have left me unable anything vaguely equivalent in terms of pleasant situation.”

“Really impressive service. I was unsure as to wether I needed a home buyers report or a building survey and he was happy to have a look at the property and guide me as to what was best. From the initial contact he was very fast at confirming a date for the survey the following week and then had the report back to us a matter of days later. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to use again.”

“The site was great. However, the surveyor was not. I have been ripped off and left with a report that is full of errors and not what I paid for. I have since learned the surveyor has been disciplined by the RICS and suspended. However, too late for me. The surveyor has disappeared, won’t answer emails or texts and I can’t get a refund. Extremely upset and disappointed.”

“Daviesrural.co.uk was contacted on about 19 June 2020. Yvonne Davies (owner) replied promptly on 22 June(Monday). We accepted her quotation and she replied on 26 June.....we are still waiting...(29 July). Repeated email were to no avail. On 14th July, we gave up and appointed another surveyor. In short, Yvonne Davies lost us three weeks in waiting for her to pull her finger out.”
