No problems with sundries. Problem is with moulding! Excessive damage in transport!!! The order before last had a lot of damage, the packaging was coming apart but wasn't entire reason for damage to moulding. Damage caused by combination of inadequate packaging and pore handling by carrier. When placing last order I asked if possible to put extra and more secure packaging around moulding, after explaining about previous delivery damage. Told no problem. I had an order for exhibition with regular customer 8 frames ,15 mts moulding required . Played safe and ordered 24 mts L2033. 26 mts arrived in very badly damaged package just the same as before!!!! NO extra packing as requested. After spending an excessive amount of time cutting frames I only have about 5 mts of useable moulding left. That's 6 mts waste or £25 ! Plus a lot of extra time cutting frames!. I don't have this problem with Rose & Hollis or Arqadia. I wouldn't object to paying extra for more robust packing. Yours sincerely Gary Coulthurst

Lion simply could not supply mouldings I had ordered in time. After telling me they could not keep the commitment they had previously made regarding the mouldings because they didn't have them currently in stock. They ordered them and then informed me that when the order had arrived mine was not amongst them and that I would have to wait a further week for the following order. I had to get them elsewhere.

I have always received very good service from Lion but The order I placed on 27th May had not arrived by 6th June. After contacting your office it was discovered that the order had not been dispatched. As I have a client awaiting an urgent order it has been disappointing on this occasion.

Sadly my experience was very poor due to the delivery of the goods ordered online. These days retailers have to cater for customers end to end and if they chose to use a poor supplier then the whole service falls down. It took me a week beyond the original due date to receive the goods I ordered at much inconvenience and frustration. Products, when received, were actually okay but I cannot use Lion any more as I refuse to deal with their chosen delivery supplier.

On Tuesday 10 May I ordered 12 chop aluminium frames, which I said I needed for late the following week. You had enough in stock to send 3 and the rest on Friday13 May when you got your delivery. By Monday 16 May as the exhibition was very close and I had not received even the first 3 I phone only to be told that there were none in stock last Tuesday and your delivery was not due for another week. I had been left expecting a delivery which was not going to happen and my customer would have missed the exhibition. I was offered a very suitable alternative which came the next day free of the delivery charge. Your first response was incompetent and thoughtless and had I not phoned I would have looked stupid and lost a customer. Your second response was perfect and I have now calmed down a bit.

I am very disappointed with the closure of Lion South that now makes it not very cost effective to order mouldings and card from you as I used to collect as I am based in Berkshire. A £50 minimum order with mouldings and 10 sheets of card will only delay my customers work if I don't get enough frames or card selected from Lion. My other suppliers allow any quantity of moulding below £50 and any number of card. O n a positive note your hardware is of good quality and your returns for damaged goods speedy. I have been in business for 16 years and have always used Lion in the past. I bought my framing equipment from you when I started. I was disappointed to have my account removed a few years ago as I paid by card which means that you have no purchase history and therefore my loyalty with Lion isn't acknowledged so I don't feel that important when it comes to sales. The chop service is ok but with higher pricing, it makes you less attractive with the competition. I have now found other suppliers for my mouldings and card.

Dear team - in my opinion the service to me Village Framing as a longstanding customer has gone down since the closure of Lion South. Close the branch if you must, but then please dont it so difficult to order 'what is required' do carry out my customer framing, because you have rules in place that do not allow me to order what I want! I asked for a wrap of expensive moulding - was told 'sorry, you must order more meterage. I dont want more meterage of your £9 pm moulding to do my job!!! I was told it was too flimsy to send. Rubbish, in my opinion, it was a chunky moulding. Incidently, if i ordered 30meters of slip, that would be more flimsy!! It would seem that you are trying to make a $ on the carriage. I may be wrong. If I go to a shoe shop for a pair of shoes, or online, I am not told I must order 2 pairs. I have had these issuses applied on line too, where the site doesnt allow check out, so then have to call to resolve the matter - a pointless exercise in the first instance. If you allow small time framers into your fold, then treat them as such - otherwise make it a proper trade customer account, with appropriate trade prices. Sorry to rant! The moulding quality has definately improved over time which is great. I see no point in changing the mount board codes - such is life! Why are everest paints soooooo expensive?? I shall continue to use Lion in the future. Best wishes Malcolm Baxter
