“The earrings I have had from you are lovely but I do wish I could speak to someone, I find it really difficult when wanting to place an order and have to keep sending questions, which I am sure really annoys the team. Also it would be amazing if you could return items, which a few other online shops are now doing, as soon as you open the box you know if they are what the picture looks like, the pictures are very deceiving, look a lot larger in real life. I would buy a lot more. Sorry to rant Liz”

“great earrings but when I tried them on they didn’t fit my high lobe piercing. Sad as I spent a lot on them, not realising they wouldn’t fit a generic ear piercing. lovely product but read the no returns unlike I did.”

“I ordered a nose stud with labret fitting. Service was fast and delivery quick, however when I received the item it's very tiny and will not fit into my nose as it's too small. Obviously I am unable to return the item so I'm left very disappointed and out of pocket. I assumed this would fit as there were no options for different sizes. Item is pretty just no good for my needs.”

“Earring beautiful but so small I can’t even put it in my cartilage piercing without dropping it. Bit disappointed and will probably give it to my sister who may be able to work with it better. Would send it back only I’ve used it”

“Really lovely little stud that I bought for my nostril piercing but unfortunately it turns out a 6mm labret is too long for me so it keeps popping out too far and Laura Bond don't sell a 5mm option. Tried to buy a generic 5mm internally threaded labret post one but it didn't fit the Laura Bond top. Ultimately I won't wear this as it doesn't fit nice and flush against my skin, bit of a shame.”

“Bought the stud for my conch (had clicked via website which should have been suitable) however it doesn’t fit its far too small, really pretty but is much smaller in person than the images online and not useable myself”

“Your shop is convenient and the staff are lovely. We arrived 5 minutes before the appt - which was entirely my fault in terms of not reading booking requirements properly. All the staff were lovely and this was pointed out to me - fair enough. It was then said my daughter would need to be quicker picking her earrings - fair enough. What I think then let you down and made it disappointing was I was told the appt was running 20-25 minutes late. A what was the point of saying we should have been earlier? B why rush the earring choice I would have mentioned it for future knowledge and then left it - could have been handled better and tainted the experience. I am not sure why the appts were so late but not ideal. In this basis we wouldn’t return.”

“I got both my ear lobes pierced a week ago. I was only informed while the piercing was being performed that the posts used for the piercing were longer to allow for swelling and that I would need to replace them once the piercing had healed. The problem is that my lobes are not very thick and the post is too long meaning that the earrings fall forward so they don’t look good and are always catching on my hair and clothes, which is quite painful. I was also surprised that I will have to pay £80 for two new posts and will be left with 2 14ct post which will be completely useless. What I am supposed to do with them? I think it would have been better if there was a choice of post length at the time of piercing and the piercing price included the post swap. This way people would know how much the actual piercing would cost. Also once I swap my posts what am I supposed to do with the expensive 14ct posts that I can’t use. It would be better if there was a recycling option for my now redundant posts.!”

Hi Dawn, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. For initial piercings, a back post length of 8mm or above is the safest option to use. This size ensures that there is enough room for swelling during the healing process, reducing the risk of your jewellery embedding and other complications. Downsizing is recommended once any initial swelling has subsided, this is usually at least 6 weeks after your piercing but for some people swelling can last months. Lobe piercings typically take 2-4 months to heal fully, however everybody's anatomy is different and healing times can vary. Without seeing your piercing in person we are unable to tell if you are ready to downsize or not. Please feel free to pop in at any time and one of our piercers would be more than happy to take a look. If you are unable to make it back into our boutique, then we suggest visiting your local reputable piercer for advise. We have recently implemented a gold recycling scheme in store. This gives our customers the opportunity to recycle any of their 14k 8mm back posts that they no longer need. In return, we will give you a £20 credit towards your purchase of any of our 9k or 14k 6mm labret backs. “My new gold nose stud is perfect in every way except it keeps rotating downwards so the back part is always stickting out of my nose which is frustrating. I havent had this issue with any others. I have no idea why. Am i doing something wrong? I love that the stud is flat to my nose and it is so pretty but if i cant fix the back part then i may not be able to wear it.”

It sounds like the nose stud you have purchased is a little long for your piercing channel, hence why it might be visible from the inside of the nostril. Similarly, the stud you purchased is our 1mm gauge option, which is slightly thinner than a standard 1.2mm which is likely what you have been pierced with. We have 1.2 x 6mm labret posts on our website available to purchase, which might be a better fitting option for you. If you're unsure on sizing, we would recommend visiting a reputable piercer in your area, however if you are local to Edinburgh feel free to pop into our boutique. “I really like the LB jewellery and was unfortunately disappointed when I received my gold nose hoop. It was too thick to fit my nose piercing but also more disappointing was the colour - it was very pale yellow and not what I was expecting from the picture.”

It could be that you have been wearing jewellery with a thinner gauge in your nose and therefore the piercing could have shrunk over time. If you visit a piercer they may be able to help you fit the jewellery safely and securely . The images we use on our website are the exact products that we sell. Our 9k solid gold jewellery is not as yellow as plated or vermeil options can be, and most of our customers love how shiny and bright our jewellery is. “Absolutely beautiful earrings but 2 problems. 1 seems to be slightly bigger than the other, and also my piercer has said the labrette back is not ideal for changing myself but won't change it for me as I didn't buy it at their store! So I am stuck with some quite expensive gold earrings which I can't use.”

“I purchased a daith clicker and I do still love it but the colour of the stones looked way more pink online, they’re very muted in person. And unfortunately the clicker opens very easily while i sleep. I had my previous clicker in for over 4 years and unfortunately I can’t see this one lasting me as long.”
