No problem with the Product, but very confused with the delivery setup, one part of the order says 3pm the other says 5.30pm for next day delivery, I paid £18 for the next day delivery and it turned up 5 days later. had several e - mails with the "General Lamps" but still no compensation or apologies

Hi Ralph , We advise customers to place their order by 3pm for a next day delivery. So if you place your order by 3pm you will receive it the next day by 5pm . Best Regards Support Team

Order placed in January, after 2 Mths with no delivery got round to calling them to see what was going on and was told bulbs were out of stock but new stock due in... Low and behold a week later they arrived. Wonder if they'd of arrived had I not called them. Zero communication from the company throughout.

The single halogen bulb I ordered arrived in good time but it came inadequately packed, was damaged and failed to work. It's probably too risky to get a lightbulb sent through the post because of the vibrations and impacts. This was such a small order I decided not to ask for a refund.

Ordered 3 ballast from General Lamps. They got here in a timely manner, but were the complete wrong ballast. Tried to contact the company twice and and have not received any communication back. Now our machine is still down, am out money, and don't want to order again in fear of same thing happening again.

Hi Matthew, We havent had any contact from you ? Please can you email sales@generallamps.com and explain what this issue is . I notice that you are in the US , the US works from 110/120v whereas we are 240v is this the problem? Regards Technical

Poor customer service. Can't reply to messages. Paid extra for next day delivery & DHL didn't deliver until over a week with a text to say do not contact them they are busy, busy ripping us off with delivery charges and they can't deliver. Bulbs were delivered and do not fit don't even have the energy to try fight to send them back so 80 odd quid down the sink and bulbs I can't use. Thought this site was too good to be true. Company just blanked my email

Hello Gemma, we received your email asking for the money back and we refunded you, you're money back the normal standard delivery is 15 pounds and you paid 18 pounds for the next day delivery so we refunded you the 3 pounds. Also we sent your order down to the warehouse on the 4th of December and it also left the warehouse on the 4th of December. So this is down to the courier unfortunately as we did everything right on our behalf's. As stated on DHL message ''we are experiencing very high volumes due to Christmas and delays are expected'' Also please contact us so we can help you order the correct fitting and we will arrange a return for you. very long wait time from date of placing the order to receiving delivery. poor communication as to status of order. I had to remind them of my order which seemed to prompt a response. I doubt if I will use this company again

Dear Malcom, When ordering from our website it lets you know which products are out of stock unfortunately you happened to order an out of stock item not only would the website let you know we also emailed you on the day of purchase which was the 4th of November to let you know that your order was out of stock and that you were being placed on back order we then had a reply from you on the 28th November asking where your good were and we replied on the 29th November to let you know that stock was arriving on Monday and that we will be sending it ASAP and now upon checking I've seen it was delivered on the 7th of November. We never forgot about your order we were just waiting on the stock to arrive we replied instantly when you emailed us. Sorry for inconvenience General Lamps

My first order with lamps on Line has been a disappointment. The strip bulb I ordered arrived in good time, however although the correct size the fitiings were wrong.. They were flat pin instead of round pin. I therefore left a voicemail message to ask if the company could help. I received no response. I then tried an email message - still no response. order ref: 100216480

I was not sent the halogen lamps I ordered but instead what was thought to be the LED equivalent. I had to pay the postage to return and then I see that you have not credited me back my initial £51.98 but only £48 +.

Hi Sarah, I have checked your order and can confirm that you did order LED MR16 lamps 5.8w Sylvania brand . We have credited back your order less the postage that we have had to pay to Royal mail for sending the goods to you as we are unable to recover this. We do have the halogen version in stock our code is M258 . We fully understand that lighting is a minefield of product types so please give us a call our sales team are experts and will guide yo to the product you want

Cher Alexis, Nous avons envoyé des marchandises en France enregistrées, ce qui rend le coût de livraison un peu plus cher que les livraisons locales. Veuillez noter que nous déduisons la taxe britannique lorsque vous effectuez votre achat. Vous ne payez donc pas de taxe au Royaume-Uni, mais vous devez la payer lorsque les marchandises entrent en France.

Hi Peter, I have checked our stock and we have both Sylvania and Wemlite brand in stock . For information both are made in China but we are happy to swap your lamp to Sylvania if you prefer Best Regards Technical

I ordered my tubes from here and they arrived intact in a jiffy bag after nine days.But prevos to this i had E-mailed customer service three times to enquire when my lamps would be arriving,but no one bothered to reply,so poor customer service.

Didn't realise when I ordered that the item was actually out of stock until I had finally paid. When I heard nothing after more than two weeks I sent a reply - no reply Finally a month later I got a message saying it still wasn't in stock (I had found another supplier by then) and asked me to accept a slightly different bulb which I did. Not great service though, but it's only a £10 bulb....

As you may know striplights have been made obsolete so its now hard for us to find this light source , when you place your order if an item is out of stock a pop up appears before you place your order to advise you that the item is out of stock . I can see that our service team contacted you and offered an alternative that you have accepted. Had to chase for delivery updates but the worst of the issue is that these were for my 90 year old father and when he put the 1st 1 in it blew, the second one not only blew but tripped the circuit breaker. He is a former electrician who wonders if the lamp voltages are labelled wrongly?
