“Firstly, I'd like to advise anyone who is buying a newly built property to use a professional snagger. I have done a lot of research and have narrowed my choice down to two, one of which was HomeSnag. I managed to arrange with the builder (Persimmon Homes) that a snagger comes into the property prior completion of purchase. Alex did an inspection of our house. I didn't personally meet Alex as the builder provided access to the property. I also didn't want to be under Alexes feet. He completed his inspection and came with 240 snags. His attention to detail was fantastic and I would've never, ever picked up on many of the snags that he had picked up on. If something was not in line with the building regulation he had quoted the actual regulation and the appropriate standards. He did say that if he was extremely picky that he could've come up with 500+ snags but these would be neat picking. Now, this was crucial for the next stage as some of the snags were bigger jobs. I had a meeting with the site manager and he was extremely receptive of the report and was happy to rectify ALL identified issues, without pushing back. He thought that Alex was very fair and he doesn't feel he needed to challenge anything. He explained that some of the independent snaggers come with 600+ issues and they have to then check each one of them against the relevant regulations to see if they're valid or not. I am so pleased that I have engaged HomeSnag that I would strongly recommend using them. They can be seen as a bit more expensive but if you consider the cost of the house and the cost of rectifying the issues down the line, they're invaluable. I cannot stress enough how glad I am that I have engaged HomeSnag and how pleased I am with the work that Alex has done.”

“A fast, detailed and efficient survey at a fair price. Great attention to detail of the snagging issues found. Only a couple of items missed. I would use again. If I was looking for one negative it's they don't deal with the builders. That said when armed with the survey the builders can't really not fix the issues found.”

“I was buying a new build without the benefit of a usual two-year snag warranty so I needed to be crystal clear what I was buying. The report by Tom can only be described as thoroughly comprehensive, with points ranging from what might be described as extremely minor (a radiator 2mm off level), through issues that could cause a problem in the medium-term such as missing mastic, to more urgent things like a shower tray not draining properly. The key issues were accepted by the vendor and proved a great source of comfort to me that there were no major issues to resolve. If I had done the snagging with my own eyes I may have picked up some, but certainly not all of the points because I would probably focused on the cosmetic rather than the important. Plus, you don't know what you don't know. The report was emailed by 9am the following day and the hard copy in the post first class. I'd also thoroughly recommend the measuring service for a few pounds extra; it makes such a difference for ordering blinds, etc. All in all, definitely a 5-star service and I believe good value for money for peace of mind and leverage to have issues sorted before they become a problem.”

“Easy booking the inspection and managed to bring the date forward as requested when a slot became available. Kept informed on the day and report received later on the same day as the inspection. Found it very useful in negotiating with developer and would recommend Homesnag to anyone buying a new home.”

“Very thorough survey spotting many issues I'd missed, and I thought I was thorough! I'd highly recommend HomeSnag for anyone living in a new build to make sure snag issues are addressed. Gareth was knowledgeable and very helpful, I left him the keys and headed into work making the process easy for me.”
