HomeSnag is a great service, as first time 'new build' buyers we were wary of the horror stories reported through this industry. This brief review is based on the initial visit, we are expecting the follow ups in due course. HomSnag spend reasonable time internally and externally inspecting the property for issues which may not be obvious or easy to spot for the general consumer, especially when you're excited by the prospect of moving in to your brand new home. The report is clear and easy to understand and provides a solid start to ensure your new home is as you would expect it to be. In my opinion it could only be improved further by providing an editable version so that new issues or updates can be easily recorded. I wrote the report out in to an Excel spreadsheet so that I could further add to it and track the issues.

Good communication prior to survey,. Inspection done in methodical and immediately advised of items requiring prompt attention -- although subsequently found poor painting of skirting board in Mater Bedroom and Bedroom 3 was missed. When survey completed, advised report would be sent which should be printed & give to the builder to action. At this point, would have given a rate of Good but have been disappointed with your service since then which rates as Poor. The report two days later & that evening sent an email reply to which there still has been no answer. In particular, wanted a summary sorted by Assignment (Site Groundworks, Painter etc) Also consider that each Issue should have been given a priority classification (such as Urgent, High, Medium & Low) -- with a report sorted by this.

I’m sorry to hear we did not quite meet your level of expectation Your report arrived 2 days after your inspection which is within time as per your terms and conditions which states that we aim to get the report to you within 48 hours. Following our initial contact you were advised that we do not provide the report in a different format or summarise in the way that you had requested. This is not something we currently do but is something we will look into. Our example reports are available online and we have delivered this to you whereas the request for the summary of issues by assignment and a priority classification is outside of what we advertise to deliver. Please note that whilst our inspectors do endeavour to reply to any queries as soon as possible they are also extremely busy on inspections during the day and then compiling reports during the evening. Very detailed, high quality and informative report. I particularly liked the use of pictures to document all snags as not all companies do this. Joe was professional and thorough in his approach and took the time to explain the major issues in detail. The inspection is well worth the money and a couple of significant issues were identified which I would never have seen myself. Everyone buying a new build should get this done to protect their investment.

The report and photos were invaluable in getting our developer to address issues in the house. The HomeSnag representative was also very understanding in reorganising the appointment at short notice after he was initially refused access. We would definitely recommend HomeSnag.

I used HomeSnag for the initial snag of my house to help with the seven day inspection checklist. Their report identified over 300 issues which I was able to provide my builder with. They found items I would never have found, including many that were critical. They provided a detailed report, complete with photos of the items, and where appropriate, references to the relevant NHBC standards. Alex, who conducted the inspection also went the extra mile by providing clarifications by email where I couldn’t understand technical details and the builder was being difficult. Naomi & Dina in the office were also very patient with me having to keep postponing the recommended re-snag due to delays by the builder.

Both Naomi who assisted with my booking and Harrison who carried out the survey were really helpful and efficient. I was unsure on the difference between the surveys which Naomi took me through and Harrison turned around a detailed PCI report super quickly.

I had to move the appointment on 3 occasions due to the house not being ready, and it was done with no fuss whatsoever by Dina. Frazer the inspector had produced a very extensive report, and most of the snags I would never have spotted. Would highly recommend.

Our Snagger Dominic arrived on time. He was very knowledgeable and guided me throughout his journey. He found many little and some more major snags. Very professional service. Would definitely recommend to anyone purchasing new build home. The report arrived next day as promised!

Lee was fantastic and we got a very comprehensive snagging survey after moving in. Lee was very friendly and explained some of the findings to us as well as some general questions we had about our new build which was above and beyond what was required. The survey itself was laid out in an easy to read format and explained everything well. We are glad we had it done and would happily recommend HomeSnag.
