“i have a Samsung JS9000 48 inch curved tv and for nearly a year now i have been messing about with the picture on various sources but always the picture was never correct and disappointing for such an expensive tv to the point i was about to trade it in for the new LG OLED HDR tv my main reason for this was that i have just purchased a 4k HDR panasonic blu ray player - while reading some reviews on HDTV test i come across this link to have my tv calibrated so i thought well lets give that a go - very quick reply from Vincent and reading the reviews from other customers i arranged for Vincent to come out to my house in Reading (Vincent is based in Manchester) - now Vincent is a total pro and a perfectionist and being one myself really impressed me the way he explained every single adjustment and how the tv should be mounted to the wall an easy tilt adjustment as i had never even noticed the picture difference between sitting down and standing straight on - anyway vincent spent nearly 4 hours calibrating my SD/ HD , HDR , 3D , and gaming settings and all i can say is this guy should be on tv as he is a miracle worker my tv picture now looks amazing on all sources i have tested various movies etc and wow i cannot stop smiling - yes its expensive at just over £400 but well worth it especially when i was considering spending £2700 on a new tv then i would have needed to spend this amount again have it calibrated!! so vincent has saved me £2700 !!!! and i have a picture to die for and looks better than the tv i was good to purchase !! - if you are thinking about this service i fully recommend it - vincent is a pro , very pleasant guy and does not mind whatever you request him to do (to your tv that is!) - GO ON DO IT TODAY AND SMILE AT YOUR BRAND NEW TV !!!!!! 100 out of 10!!!”

“This is the second Time I have had Vince Calibrate my TV The first time was last year.I had to have it redone because I brought The SEK3500 Box this year which gives you basic HDR Better picture etc Well I can tell you the SEK3500 does improve the picture very much so. And once Vince fiddles about with the settings then it goes up another level!As before Vince shows you what is happening as he is doing it and explaining it all and answers any questions you wish to ask . ( I now Know what all them graphs mean on AV Forums when I did not have a clue before it went right over my head). The other thing I will say about Vince he is a perfectionist of the highest order. I will be having Vince calibrate my Projector, & New TV which I will get them So I do not think I could give a better compliment than that & because he will get every last bit of improvement he can from your Projector or TV Thanks Yet again Vince for doing a great Job Looking forward to seeing you again Hello Vince I hope you are keeping well and busy of course. I am here to give you a update since you calibrated my TV for SEK 3500 I have tried a few bits and it is fantastic it has taken my breath away I have never been this pleased with a TV as much as this one and now even better with SEK3500 . I thought to myself go and have a look at the Samsung K series and seeing what I am missing. Picture wise not a lot in actual fact I was pushing hard to see any difference between the k900/800 to my 7500 so then watched a few HDR demos I thought it was to much in your face but I preferred my HDR on the 7500.Since the calibration and upgrade to me it is like owning a new TV and will keep this one for a few years.Like you said you are a perfectionist and you can see it in my TV and the care you took in getting it right and I am very happy what you have done and can not wait until I get you to do my projector when i get it. I just would like to know how do you calibrate a projector on a 7ft screen ;-) do you use a bigger version of that tool you use to do my TV or do you put the one you have on a tripod and move to different parts of the screen. Anyway Vincent yet again Thanks for making my TV look so great. Looking forward to see you again in the not to distant future. “Vincent arrived on time, he was very well presented, introduced himself with a handshake and then proceeded to tell me of what he does and that if I was not happy with the calibration then he would try again and again until I was happy. At every stage he explained what he was doing in a way that I could happily understand and bless him he answered a plethora of questions from me. My TV now looks better than the day I bought it, Samsung 8500 Curved TV, settings are good for all media that I watch, overall I would have no qualms in recommending Vincent and the service he supplies.”

“TV LG 65G6 OLED Vincent recently calibrated my Tv , Vincent was on time , very personable and most importantly has calibrated the tv to provide an outstanding result. He happily explained what he was doing and took the time to show 'before and after' views and this was copied to all my inputs? I also have the results in pdf form . Vincent comes highly recommended for anyone who wants the best picture out of a new TV .”

“It was a pleasure to meet the highly professional and knowledgeable Vincent Teoh who is the Editor of HDTVTest. Having been reading Vincent's review since the website started and those reviews having informed me and helped in the last two TV choices, I had no hesitation in investing in a professional calibration of my 4K 65" Panasonic AX902...and what a difference it has made! The colour balance, light output, shadow detail and depth of the image is what I always hoped for when purchasing this TV. To anyone debating whether to invest in a professional calibration...just do it. You will not regret it and based on what you will likely pay for a high performance display it is almost a no brainier. Vincent was engaging and ready to explain each step of the calibration...so aside from a thoroughly enjoyable geek out session it was also an education. “Fantastic service from Vincent at HDTVTest - he arrived bang on time and was very smart and polite. He talked me through every step he was taking in the calibration process and was very thorough in optimising the settings on my Samsung, making sure I was happy with what he was doing. I was very pleased with the results, and Vincent had retained my original settings so that he could show back-to-back comparisons of various scenes and I could really see the differences - more life-like colour, much better rendition of darker scenes, and better sense of depth. I'd always expected that a professional calibration would result in more subdued colours, but not a bit of it - colours are still fantastically vibrant, it's that they're just properly balanced. A happy customer.”

“I am throughly delighted with the work Vincent did calibrating my projector, the picture and colour quality are now far better than I thought my projector capable of. The process took a couple of hours and was very involved, Vincent clearly being a bit of a perfectionist. He was very professional and courteous in my home and was happy to explain what he was doing and why while he worked. Once calibrated, we played some test footage to make sure I was happy with my new picture before he left. I was a little unsure about getting this done as I wasn't aware how much difference it would make. Having seen Vincent's work first hand, I will certainly use him again for my next blub/projector and hope to have him return to calibrate my TV's too.”

“I have had my Samsung UE55D8000YUXXU for a few years and have never been quite satisfied with the picture but have never been able to improve it to my liking by tinkering with the settings. I had heard about software callibtration but there doesn't seem to be many people that provide that service. I found HDTVtest on the internet whilst researching TVs and decided to try them out. I have been very satisfied with my TV picture since it was calibrated by Vincent at HDTVtest. Vincent was very professional and enthusiastic and was keen to explain and demonstrate the changes he had made. He provided me with two lots of calibrated settings, one best suited for daytime viewing and one for night time. You definitely need the two different calibrations and I have been using them both with excellent results. He also provided me with a document detailing the settings. I will definitely use them again when I do purchase a new TV in the future.”

“I cannot recommend this service enough. I had debated for a few months whether to have my tv professional calibrated and after doing some research contacted HDTVTest and I'm extremely pleased with the results. Vincent was punctual, polite and friendly, answered all my questions and talked me through the calibration. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he calibrated the 2D picture for freeview, blu ray, ultra hd blu ray and 3D blu ray. The results between pre and post calibration are night and day and I will definitely be using Vincent for any future TV calibrations I need.”

“I've been meaning to get my Panasonic Plasma (TX-P65VT65B) calibrated for a while now. I am really enjoying the new depth and vibrance of the picture. Everything looks much more natural as the picture had a noticeable skew toward blue prior to calibration. Vincent is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy, he explained everything he was doing which I really appreciated. Vincent also managed to fix an annoying issue for me that had been bugging me for a while, where the picture wasn't truly aligned with all of the sources (it turned out disabling the pixel orbiter resolved this). If you are thinking about calibrating your TV but are unsure, all I have to say is don't hesitate to get it done. The difference is like night and day so it's money well spent for something you will be looking at for years to come... your eyes will thank you :-) Sean Chin”

Picture looks clearer, crisper and with no sign of the judder I'd previously experienced. “TV: Samsung UE65JS9500 Sources: SkyQ, Netflix/Amazon/YouTube (via TV Smart Hub), Sony BDPS7200 Blu-Ray player. If you have spent quite a lot of money on a new TV which you are planning on keeping for a while, and enjoy watching content on it often, I'd strongly recommend getting Vincent to professionally calibrate it to bring out the TV's true potential and have a peace of mind! No matter how much you will tweak it yourself, or use settings online, you will not get the quality jump if you were to use proper kit and a calibrator to tweak your specific panel in the room it's in. The overall result was fantastic, making everything being viewed looking more realistic than before. Read on for details... Why I wanted calibration performed: We moved into a new house at the start of the year and needed a new TV for the living room. After spending a lot of 2015 searching around, I set my mind on the Samsung UE65JS9500 (after waiting for price drops) due to it's impressive reviews, specifications and seemed like a high end TV which will last a good number of years. We had this wall mounted at eye level and after using some settings which I found online the TV looked fantastic with whatever we were watching (however I would get annoyed at a slightly washed effect on darker scenes). We would use SkyQ to watch shows/films in HD mostly, some TV shows on Netflix and a Blu-ray every now and then (where the TV looked more stunning than ever). Because of the TV being such high spec, pricey and knowing it will be there for a few years, I was really curious about getting it professionally calibrated to make the most out of what it can offer to enjoy it's viewing to the max. A couple of forums I would view online would mention Vincent from HDTVtest and have a lot of praise for him, and funny enough his review was the first I read when looking to get this TV! After seeing how many high reviews he got, I decided to take the plunge and get in touch to have the TV calibrated.... The calibrator: Before Vincent arrived, I did check his Twitter to see what he was like and how he performed his calibration, and instantly could tell he was the friendly type. When he arrived, I can honestly say he is one of the most nicest, friendliest and down to earth person you will meet, and I found this quite important. He has a very polite and respectful nature and someone who you will want to feel welcome in your home. What's even better is he's a perfectionist, will take his time and offer for you to sit down so he can explain everything he is doing step by step as you watch him tweak each setting. Having a bit of a perfectionist nature myself, I loved how Vincent would make sure each tweak was just right and really taking his time to go through everything. Once the calibration is complete, he will spend time to switch back and forth between all your sources to ensure you are happy with the results and notice the difference. He will also be in contact to let you know when he is arriving. Once again, he had such a friendly approach and such a genuine person, and this was very important. That cost: Yes it is expensive, especially if you live further away from where Vincent is based. But the way I looked at it was, seeing how much was spent on the TV and because it was a high end model, I wanted to bring out it's potential with the one off cost due to how often we watch shows / films as a family and to have a peace of mind with the model purchased. Once Vincent arrived and got to work, I realised that you're not just paying for "some guy" to come calibrate your TV, you're paying for Vincent to do it and there was a big difference. It's a one of cost, if you are really passionate about what you watch and what you watch it on, you should go for it. The result: This is the main bit of course, and quite an important one. All I can say is, you will notice a difference, and even more so if you watch something you're used to watching (compare using a TV show you usually watch or something you know where the picture didn't seem as good as it should). The more you watch the TV, the more you will marvel at the jump in realism. I'm more than happy with the results and even though the picture quality was brilliant before, it's now really brought out the best in what the TV has to offer (and I still haven't had a chance to watch a broader range of content!). The biggest difference was during a lot of darker scenes, especially on SkyHD, where before I would see a bit of a washed out effect which would really annoy me at times as I couldn't get rid of it even when playing with the Brightness/Contrast. Comparing a darker scene in Game of Thrones made the difference highly noticeable, afterwards it was 100% clear the calibration was worth it, and even removed some artefacts which were showing before. Other differences were general increase in quality for skin tones, a better colour pop without looking unnatural or too much and during brighter scenes the detail was improved. Like I said, I haven't even got round to watching a whole lot more, but from general SkyHD channel viewing, the difference is fantastic and I enjoy everything I watch more than ever, with a peace of mind that I'm getting the most out of this model of TV. I now cannot wait to watch more of our usual shows on Sky in HD, Blu-rays and 4k content on Netflix where it will really shine. I'm 100% going to be getting in touch with Vincent to calibrate a high end TV in the future! (and I wouldn't have spent time to write such a long review if I didn't think it was worth it or not happy with the results!)”

“Vincent calibrated my kd-55x9305 for sky, xbox one, HDR and 3D. All the images look so much better especially with football and HDR. I thought I had calibrated my TV correctly using settings from the internet but I was way off Netflix 4k HDR looks massively better. The images are so realistic! Before you could a lot of blue tint but now the images look incredible. Setting have been calibrated for day and night viewing With sky hd there was a huge difference which i did not think at first, the more TV I watch now the more I noticed how realistic the colours are. I am really happy that I chose to fork out the money for the calibration, it is a lot but it is definitely worth it if you have an expensive TV”

“I telephoned Vincent after noticing how bad the picture could be on dark scenes broadcast by Sky, especially Game of Thrones. Vincent was prepared to talk the issue through at length prior to me having to commit to having my TV calibrated. After the calibration the picture was much improved, but the problem was primarily due to compression of the broadcast. Beyond this Vincent made noticeable differences to picture quality with the day/night modes he set up. He also noticed my blu-ray player was in the wrong mode and corrected this as well. If you spend a lot on your tv, a professional calibration is essential.”

“A HUGE thanks Vince for your excellent service! I wish I had got you round 3 yrs ago when I first purchased my TV and not just stuck to using the standard settings which I though were giving me the best picture. Clearly Not! I was mightily impressed with how thorough and meticulous he was with his calibration of my Panasonic Plasma TV. He went out of his way to describe in every little detail the whole calibration process. He spent close to 2hrs and took his time to make sure I got the best picture settings for my room. He encouraged me to ask any questions on Calibration/Plasma/4K/OLED etc... of which I had plenty and he happily answered them all. Once he finished he played a Blu Ray and compared my THX Bright-Room setting I've always automatically used to the new calibration settings and the difference was noticeable straight away. The deep blacks/contrast/depth of colours all became a lot more vivid to the eye, whereas the Bright-Room seemed all yellow and washed out. I still haven't managed to watch a full Blu Ray film to fully appreciate my TV yet. Vince comes hugely recommended and I'm sure you will benefit from his highly professional calibration service and will get the most out of your TV picture quality. You could possibly find a cheaper service elsewhere, but I now feel comfortable and have peace of mind knowing that an experienced and knowledgeable Calibration expert has re-figured my TV and I will get many years of TV viewing pleasure. “The organisation of the calibration was good in terms of agreeing the appointment and arriving on time. Vincent is very personable and takes the time to explain what he's doing and why. It's easy to assume a new TV will be perfectly calibrated but after the calibration it's easy to see the difference and improvement.”
