I spent a very pleasant afternoon calibrating my LG 55EF9500 OLED TV with Vincent. I learnt a lot about the calibration process and what the different factors are. He even showed me some little secrets that had an excellent effect on the TV. The picture is now amazing and in particular the floating black issue is much improved. He is not the cheapest calibrator out there, but the service is excellent and the results are very impressive.

If you’ve just bought a UHD TV I’ve got some bad news for you. Once all the “oohing and aahing” is over a terrible realization will come over you. You will be watching films expecting to be watching them as you would in the cinema but there is a problem. The picture is lit so brightly it looks like it was shot on a hand held camcorder. This is clearly not how the film’s director intended you to see their film. I have a Samsung. Vincent of HDTV pointed out that I was watching the films with the picture in “standard mode”. What Vincent will do is to select the “movie mode” on your TV which allows for the picture to be extensively manipulated. Using his advanced re calibration techniques he will set the picture to match the internationally recognized standard that Film makers use for picture quality. The result is that you can finally watch films (and other TV programmers) as the Director intended. In my view there is still a place for the having an overly bright picture. For example when watching TV made in the 70s and 80s. Having an overly bright screen does make the picture far more attractive. All you have to do is to revert to “standard mode” and then switch back gain to the recalibrated “movie mode” when you want to watch a film or a modern TV programme. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unless you have your TV re calibrated you would have been better off watching your old HD TV

Vincent took great care to understand what we wanted to achieve and explained each step during the calibration of our Panasonic TX-P60ZT65B. The two profiles he created (night & day) are superb and way better than any settings suggested on user forums, with the picture now clearer with the right levels of contrast, saturation and sharpness. His service is highly recommended.

I purchased a Panasonic TX55CX802B in December 2015 and decided that I wanted to get it professionally calibrated by a qualified isf calibrator, so after reading many positive reviews I decided to contact Vincent Teoh from hdtvtest. After a few emails back and forth we finally agreed on a mutual date for Vincent to visit me and calibrate my set. Vincent was punctual and arrived just when he said he would, he was very polite and respectful and professional. He talked me through the whole process and explained what he was going to do and what each piece of specialist equipment did, which I really appreciated as I have always had an interest in av. It took a couple of hours but it seemed to go by very quickly. He showed me the before and after results which I thought was a nice touch along with some test footage which was also good. I am extremely happy with the results of my calibration and also to have met Vincent and to have been able to watch him work his magic. I would definitely recommend Vincent if you have purchased a new TV and are thinking of getting it calibrated. Vincent also was kind enough to supply an email with an pdf file of my calibrated settings which I thought was a nice touch. All in all I am glad I had my TV calibrated by Vincent and am extremely happy with the picture quality now. Definitely worth the money.

I had already set my LG 55EG960 OLED TV to the recommended calibration by a well-known review site. Although there were some genuine improvements over the original factory settings they also clarified they were not reference quality. This left me with a dilemma, leave it or spend a considerable sum on professional calibration, enter Vincent! Have no qualms about is it worth it – without question there will be noticeable improvements, Vincent is meticulous in his methodology, starting with a fact-find to establish expectations. He explained every step and went the extra mile to ensure he delivered complete satisfaction. The cost is a mere fraction of a pence per viewing day, surely a no-brainer to see massive improvements in colour saturation, white balance and overall clarity.

I thought I had an already great picture from my uncalibrated Panasonic AX902B 4K LED TV. How wrong was I. Vincent spent several hours tweaking the AX902B to virtual perfection. He was always explaing and showing me via graphs on his laptop how his ISF calibration was improving the overall picture quality. At the end of it all I had a magnificent picture. Colours looked vibrant and true. Pictures looked more realistic with greater depth, even the dark areas of the picture showed detail I had never seen before. Amazed at the difference. But the one thing that astounded me the most was the 3D ISF calibration. WOW what a difference, 3D never looked so good. My fiends and family members also see the huge improvement. This TV has gone from being great to fantastic. Thank You Vincent. Keep up the good work.

I decided to professionally calibrate my TV as I had had enough of endlessly tweaking TV settings. After doing significant research I settled on HDTVtest based on the reviews and very reasonable price. Not convinced on it being worthwhile, I met with Vincent who was very punctual and kept ne informed on arrival times etc. Straight away I liked Vincent he is an absolute perfectionist, this was highlighted by the fact as he was working on settings and already achieving the industry standard results for certain settings, he was not satisfied until he got each setting as perfect as he could, I was really impressed that he took the extra time, made the extra effort to get it just right. I very rarely write review but then again I very rarely get what I pay for these days and in this case, more than what I paid for. Vincent is very good he knows what he is doing and goes the extra mile, I had questions after he had completed the calibration and left I would ask them by texting and he continued to provide support long after the day. Was it worth it? Absolutely! The TV looks stunning, I will never purchase another TV without getting it calibrated by Vincent - the best example of money well spent in a long time, I would highly recommend Vincent if you are considering calibrating your TV and I will continue to use him in the future. Overall Excellent!

After choosing to invest in a major upgrade of my home theatre setup it was a no brainer to also ensure that my TV was calibrated. The process was in depth and the result vastly improved the picture quality of my TV and it was worth every penny.

Vincent turned up promptly, and got to work on my Panasonic very quickly. With clear explanations he was able to show real-time changes to the grey scale. When Vincent had finished we reviewed what had been changed and I got him to lock the settings so they couldn't be altered. It was immediately clear that a greater level of detail was visible. Facial detail was enhanced with more natural skin tones and a greater depth of field, the contrast on a concrete skyscraper with blacked out windows showed better line definition around the windows edges. I love natural history programmes, so put on the BBC David Attenborough Blu-ray of AFRICA. The first chapter contains an Elephant full screen with very rough textured skin folds under the chin and groin, it was easy to detect the greater detail with the new settings. I spent the afternoon watching mountains and oceans from all over the world unfold in rich and deep texture before me. . The natural greens of the Congo Delta, the blue / green hues of the sea around Hawaii. Droplets of water with reflective surfaces, and shadows in caves with head-cams! So not a lot of work got done. Apparently we're watching Inception again tomorrow. Over the weekend I've managed to watch more of my collection, and in every case been able to detect a more natural picture with almost a 3D effect to background. I can fully recommend Vincent's work and hope to spend many more hours enjoying the results.

Since the very first interaction with Vincent, I have always found him to be polite, professional and accommodating. The work he carried out was first class and he was more than happy to explain the process at each step of the calibration. When spending the money we now do on TV[s] it makes sense to get the best picture possible from your unit. Vincent will provide this and more, highly recommended.

Excellent service and results from Vincent. I didn't think the picture could get any better on my Panasonic VT65 but after calibration the results are definitely noticeable. His calibration at 2.4 gamma on both sky and blu-ray is perfect. Vincent was very friendly and explained the whole process from start to finish. Thank you!

I did some research into TV's and decided based on the review from HDTV test to go with the LG55EG960V OLED model rather than the Samsung JS8500 LCD. I was very impressed by the depth of Vincent's testing and his review in general of both sets and at the end of the article came the offer of professional calibration by Vincent himself. Having tried to get a decent picture from out of the box settings I eventually contacted Vincent and he gave me a price for his services. Some thought later I decided to get him in and we arranged a date to calibrate. Vincent arrived as planned and got to work setting up his extensive testing kit which by the way is the kit he uses to conduct all his TV reviews on. . He took great time and care to explain every part of the process and how it all fitted in to place. He clearly pointed out all the colour errors and explained exactly how he would resolve them. It was amazing watching the newly calibrated picture gradually emerging. When he was finished the results were incredible. The calibrated picture had complete sharpness, colour definition, clarity and depth which did not exist before . For the first time I could see what OLED was capable of and what all the fuss about OLED was for. Vincent then went on to calibrate the picture for my Blu Ray and also for 3D Blu Ray. I have since watched several discs and the results from both 2D and especially 3D format are simply stunning. In summary Vincent is a thorough professional and a very pleasant person as well. He is not pushy, he knows his stuff and if you are not 200% happy with the results he will work and work until you are. Yes it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for and if you are investing £1,500 plus or £2,000 plus in the case of OLED you want it working to it's full potential and not looking like any old thing from out of the box. Professional calibration is the only way to achieve it and my overall experience of dealing with Vincent have been nothing but first class. I cannot recommend him enough and he now has my TV producing a picture that has taken everyone's breath away and proved to me that going the extra mile to get OLED was worth it. I have a picture in all formats that is so real it's almost beyond words. Thanks for your brilliant work Vincent.

SONY KD75X8505CBU 4K UHDLED 3D TV. Vincent calibrated my tv 3 weeks ago. I waited this long before posting my feedback to see if the calibration really did make the difference to my viewing experience. You do have to get used to it. Although the picture is not as bright and vibrant as you would find in a showroom but in the home surrounding both in daylight and in the evening with the light on the colours look natural and not so heavy on the eyes. I was sceptical about calibration but it's the stuff that's done in the background which only a professional like Vincent with his equipment can do. Vincent explained what he was doing and the reason behind it. You may or may not understand it but the end results are worth it. Overall I'm very happy with the work Vincent has done to my TV. Thanks Vincent.

Vincent is very knowledgeable and explained the whole calibration process to me. It was really good to see the improvement in the level of detail after the calibration. Vincent was also able to make skin tones look much better and also get rid of noise I was seeing in dark scenes. Would recommend anyone wanting to get their tv calibrated to use Vincent.

I would certainly recommend Vincent to anybody wishing to calibrate their TV. He talked me through the whole process and at the end showed me before and after slides which detailed the clear improvement in picture. My LG 920V OLED TV now has pre-sets for both movie and sport content and he also tweaked my settings to speed up my WEB-OS operation. Jon Middleton

Is calibration worth it? Definitely, if you have a good TV and want the best possible picture from it. I have a Panasonic ZT60, some say it is the best plasma screen ever and I was very pleased with the picture. However, after calibration the picture was even better. The changes were only subtle but now the shadows are deeper without being clogged and the highlights are brighter without being burnt out. The kitchen TV may have more initial impact but the image remains a TV image. Whereas the calibrated image on my ZT60 looks more real and believable. It is reassuring to know that the image is as good as it gets and shows what the director intended. The calibration session with Vincent was enjoyable and informative; he was very willing to explain what was happening and to show the 'before and after'. When I eventually get an OLED TV then I will be calling Vincent to calibrate it.
