“I was quoted £800 labour (plus vat) to fix up 2 outside wall lights. Apparently this is because the whole working day had been allocated ‘in case the job over ran’. Disgusting and appalling that they have the cheek to do this - I wonder how many people fall for this trick (I had to pester them for a full breakdown of the quote which was absolutely eye watering). DONT USE”

“Absolutely appalling work ethics. They are very quick to take your job. But they clearly over book jobs and then just drop the last costumer without any notice at all. They also use clever tactics to confuse people. An apology was given but when you have wasted two half days and the job still needs fixing I can only rate them as zero. The problem with review sites is that you tend to hear only from satisfied costumer hence the high 5 star rating.”

“Obviously, according to this website, this company has many positive pieces of feedback. I would suggest future potential customers bear in mind that this company allow contractors to sub-contract work out to others and so HandyExperts sometimes has no idea who will turn up to complete work. It could be 'pot luck' as to who comes to complete your job. Unfortunately, through this company we've just had a particularly unpleasant experience with an unprofessional electrician who has caused more problems in our property than we started with. Although HandyExperts have said they will refund our call-out fee (this has not happened as of yet), they take no responsibility for the damage caused by the bad electrical work done by the electrician - they claim the electrician was not 'one of theirs', which in itself is baffling seeing as the electrician was booked through HandyExperts. We are now having to find a new electrician to solve these issues, at our expense, when actually these problems would not have been so had we not used HandyExperts.”
“The job wasn't done properly, though the handyman was nice about it and actually didn't have the equipment at the time to do it - so I didn't blame him, it just wasn't completed and I had to buy all the equipment and do it myself the week later. Given this, the fee for the job was very expensive, and when I explained and asked to review the fee, they gave my number straight back to the handyman rather than talk to me themselves, making it very confrontational. I paid the fee to avoid the awkwardness.

“Completely unreliable. My boiler was not working so I phoned them and they said they could come 12 - 5 that day. Called them just after 1pm to see if I could get a better idea of time and they didn't call back as promised. Rang again for an update half an hour later and again no call back until another half an hour later, when they said their engineer was running late and they couldn't come until the following afternoon. And this was for a repair to a boiler they had serviced only a few weeks before. Avoid them.”
