“These handles are for an old door that I restored. The handles were a treat at the end of the work. A treat they are. Very good quality and fit with other discrete art deco in the house. Love them. Thanks.”

“I ordered a new pair of Carlisle Brass Oakley handles to replace an odd handle installed on a extra internal door by a contractor - as I wanted it to match all the others in my house. Delivery was on time and packaging was fine. I could tell, as soon as I unpackaged the new pair of handles that they were lighter and more flimsy than the 25 year old originals that came with the house. Overall the metal seems thinner throughout. The part of the handle you grip is slightly smaller in dimensions all over - I guess it saves on material costs . Turning original and new handle over in my hand I can feel the difference in balance due to the lighter weight of the grip. I can’t help feeling slightly disappointed as I had been pleased to find what I thought was the exact model of handle I was looking for. However, when attached to the door you’d need to look hard to notice the difference from all the other handles in the house. Compared to an original example - on the right in my pics - all the holes are in the correct places. Hence 4 stars not 5 - appearance-wise it’s close but noticeably less substantial than the 25 year old original stamped ‘Carlisle Brass’”

“Would have been 5 Stars if the alen keys fitted grub screw better and holding screws been better quality. Heads of screws damage after one use ,hard to reuse if door needs removing.”

“These handles are amazing, so we ordered more! We've had some of them for years and they are still as pristine as when they were first purchased. There was a slight issue on pricing through the website which they were made aware of and hopefully this has been sorted out now.”

“Letterbox flap wasn't quite what we needed , but no fault of Handles4Homes ,just our odd letterbox. They handled refund quickly and efficiently and kept us informed. Very good service ,would use again.”

“I ordered an art deco antique brass door handle but after waiting for over a week I called only to discover that they weren’t in stock and it seemed nobody was monitoring this. However, customer service sent be a satin brass version which is lovely too. Would have been good to have had a discount applied for the inconvenience.”

Hi John, Thank you for your review, the poor packaging that you refer to is brown recycled paper which Carlisle Brass handles are now wrapped in, rather than plastic bags. This is now the goal of manufacturers to reduce plastic waste on product packaging. The handles are then within their usual brown cardboard box. Sorry that you feel the packaging was flimsy, we have never had any other complaints on this, the packaging is more than suitable for the value of the handles. Thank you Handles 4 Homes

“We bought these handles 7 years ago for our kitchen cupboards. Having just done some work upstairs we wanted the same handles for the cupboards up there and were very pleased to find they still had them. They were delivered reasonably quickly.”

“Delivery was pretty prompt. Communication was great. The range of products was excellent. I bought a chrome door latch and knobs for a bathroom. The product quality is very good although the plate attaching to the door deformed easily when screws were fitted. It’s fine now it’s in place. The door knobs look elegant and the pattern on them adds detail. There were no fitting instructions with the products and that meant guesswork when deciding which screws to use where. I have a chrome ‘washer’ left over which I can’t see how to fit!”

“Very pleased indeed with the mid century solid brass door handle and escutcheon; both excellent quality, carefully wrapped and look superb. The surprise, however, on opening the box was that the internal fitting was proud of the door handle plate so the existing hole had to be routed out for it to fit - not an easy job as the hole first had to be plugged with some dowelling cut to fit so the router would work. Luckily I have a kind neighbour - but it took a long time. If the door handle had been fitted to a new door with no pre-existing hole, it would have been much easier.”

“The handles are great and we were very pleased with those (satin chrome T bar cabinet handles) However the spikes on the back of the handles, to stop the handle rotating when they are screwed in, actually preventing locating them properly and we had to cut those off. The screws were too long for our 15mm thick cupboards so again had to cut them down. Despite that, the handles look good and delivery very quick.”
