“I returned 6 unsuitable handles (at least one was defective). The return was agreed, the handles were collected from my home on 2nd October as arranged. I still haven't received my refund and no one replies to my emails.”

Thank you for your review. As discussed with you at length, the Excel brand has recently been acquired by the ASSA/Union group, and the packaging has subsequently changed which is out of our control. This is something you could have checked with directly with the manufacturers, also as discussed. “My experienced handyman had very great difficulty in fitting this item. The handle only turns smoothly to the right, not to the left towards the hinge as it should be turned. Apparently this is an imported item from China. I complained to the Sales Team, as had my handyman, but didn't get anywhere. Would definitely not recommend this product.”

“The hinges were the right reference number, but the design was changed a year ago, therefore they didn't match the holes in my door frame. I found a firm that knew about this change, and had old stock. If a design is changed the reference number should also be altered.”

“I have been waiting for more than a month for my refund in respect of returned handles. No replies to emails and no refund. Totally unacceptable.”

“I was delivered a faulty product tried to return it but was unable to until I did all these things they suggested. I try to fix it. After doing everything they said they cut contact off from me and I'm unable to return the product and get a refund. Do not fall for this scam company.”

“Avoid! Took months for the handle to arrive despite showing in stock. Arrived and returned as not quite right, had to send email after email to check my refund. Kept getting nothing, then a response saying we have not yet received back the item yet, which I know was not correct as I had the return tracked. Finally got a refund months later but for 1/3 less than I paid as they deducted restocking. Will not use again and will discourage anyone”

Dear Mr Pavlou, Thank you for your review. After checking the details of your order, you ordered a handle set that was showing out of stock at the time, and we emailed you to this effect, but we had no response. Once the goods came back into stock, we sent them to you, after which you then requested a return, for which we emailed you a returns form. Your return took longer than usual to process because you sent the handles back without any paperwork, so the return ended up in quarantine. The 10% restocking charge is applied to returns that are sent back as per our terms which are set out on the website and the emails. We are sorry that your experience wasn't a great one this time, however, we were responsive with you all the way through. Yours faithfully Handles4homes

Hello Anthony, Sorry to see your 1-star review and that you were unhappy with your order. I have looked into this and the items you ordered (on a Saturday) are stated as 2-5 working days. You also selected the Royal Mail untracked post option for small orders which added slightly to the arrival time owing to the recent postal strike chaos. Emails are automated upon despatch so can only assume this may have ended up in your spam folder, or the email may have been incorrect. Thank you Handles 4 Homes
