“I ordered an oak/brushed chrome door knob and spindle set. It arrived promptly and looks nice. However, the door handle seems to turn both ways and often does not engage properly and lock the door closed without a lot of fiddling, turning the handle one way or the other, so that is not very satisfactory, particularly as it is fitted on a fire door.”

Hi Carolyn, Thanks for the review, however it seems that the mortice latch already in your door is not suitable for these unsprung knobs. We do provide advice regarding the knobs and latches and how they work together. A lot of door knobs on the market are unsprung for a purpose, so that the knobs may be operated by turning either way, but in these instances the latch needs to be stronger so that the knobs spring back. “Delivery was quick and product was excellent. Only issue is that I need to return one item. To do that I need to email for a returns number. I have done so, but have had no response. Consequently I will need to phone. Disappointing as noted already delivery and product were excellent.”

“Good price, good delivery, the cabin hooks that arrived were not the same as the pictures on the website. A little detail but they don't match the existing ones and I ordered from Handles 4 homes because they appeared to match existing.”

“The actual door stop was a good quality product and I am pleased with it. However the small bag of C/P fixing screws was not adequate. It contained only 3 No C/P C/S slotted head screws for installation + 2 No phillips screws. Meant I had to shop for for a matching 4th screw to complete the job.”

“No complaint with item ordered. However postage charge was too high and out of proportion to cost of item. Clearly handles4hones made a profit on the postage although undoubtedly they would dispute that criticism.”

Hi David, Sorry that you felt the postage charge was too high, however for small orders we offer a cheaper Royal Mail method of delivery which is £3.30. This charge also covers the cost of the jiffy bag, and is a service that many other companies do not offer. We feel that it is good value for money. Thanks Handles 4 Homes

“Nice product, took longer to arrive then I would have hoped and did not include screws. There was nothing to say “screws not included”. So it has been an inconvenience that I’m having to put right myself”

“Whilst delivery of products ordered was good I am not so happy with your approach to returns which is positively non user friendly. Why can you not, like most mail order deliveries, provide a simple form for us as customers to process and send with our returns or exchange. I cannot exchange my door handles for a different type so will definitely wait until I have received my refund before ordering anything else from you.”

“The door knobs are acceptably handsome, but the backing dummy spindles don't locate to the screw holes in the porcelain baseplates or fit into the recess so the assembly stands proud of the woodwork and the porcelain baseplate is a bit loose.”

HI Nicholas, Thank you for your feedback, i have checked and the taylor spindle information provided on the product page does state that they do need to be 'let in' to the door so that the round base is flush with the surface of the door - this way the knob roses will sit flush onto the surface of the door. I trust that you will be able to arrange this so that your knobs will look and feel correct. “I ordered a bathroom thumbturn lock on 4th January and haven't received it yet on 17th January! When I telephoned last week the lady was very apologetic and explained that my order had been misplaced on their system. Hopefully I will receive it in the next day or two!”

“the handles were all very good, my only comment is the cup pull handles fixing lugs are right on the edge of the handle and so are very difficult to hide as any hole drilled into the draw will always be slightly out of true”

“Lots of very attractive items here that will definitely enhance any home, but this is high - end shopping, don't expect supermarket prices. Good information and communication but don't understand why delivery takes so long.”
