“I am was really disappointed the bolts holding the brass letter plate to not fit the same as regular sized letter plates.”

“The delivery was fine but it's not just about delivery, the product is the problem - not good. Two of the screws for the handles broke while screwing them into the door. They are not what I would call "proper" metal it just looks like metal but breaks. The result is that one screw is embedded in the door and head is broken off, another screw isn't properly screwed in. There were no spare screws. It's just another example of poor quality products made in developing countries, sadly it's typical of the majority of products we have to buy these days. Anyway, I know that you will not look at this review or ever put it on your website so this is just a waste of my time really... No point in uploading a photo is there?”

“Ordered on about December 21st, we have received NOTHING, not even an estimated date for delivery . . . how can we review a door handle if we do not have it in our hands ? Your email is notable for having a 'no-reply' non-facility, which is an insult.”

“Before I placed my order I phoned (on Monday 23rd October) to establish whether the order could be fulfilled, despatched and with me within a certain time frame; I placed my order after reassurances that it could and was told it would be delivered on Friday 27th October. At around noon on that Friday I phoned to see what was happening and was told one of the items had not arrived from the manufacturer. However, I had been told on the Monday that one of the items was not in stock with you and the person I spoke to had checked it could be with you by Wednesday to be despatched to me for delivery on Friday. So there was a problem both with the manufacturer not fulfilling your order but also with your staff assuring me it could be with me by Friday. As the property where I needed the door furniture is a second home, I needed the delivery to be made while I was there. I had a workman standing by to fit the furniture the Friday afternoon. In the end I have had to leave my property with the old letter box, which is not rain proof, which is why I ordered a new one in the first place. All in all, although I like the range of stock you have, I feel I was misled before placing my order. When discussing this on the Friday, the member of your staff I spoke to told me that the manufacturer is often slow at getting stock to you; in that case I wonder why I was given the assurance that the order could be delivered within the given time frame.”

“While the handles were the right shape, size and style that I wanted I did not bank on the fact that the finish would be so bad. Scratches on the back of the handle and rough edges all round the edges where they were pressed out of the sheet metal they were made from. Not good.”

“The chrome head screws were very poor quality. Some of the screws did not have the slot cut in them, and some others had the head shear off when tightening them. Will not buy again”

“I bought handle springs because the description said they fit 'almost all, if not all, lever door handles'. They do not fit mine properly; I needed 'wrap around type, not the type where the internal end of the spring goes in a hole on the handle. I couldn't know this until they arrived and I tried to fit them. Even if they had fit, they are fragile things made of thin, cheap wire, which stretched out of shape as soon as i operated the handle. I paid about the same in buying far superior springs made from flat bar rather than thin wire, from doorhandlesprings.com, which work perfectly.”

Hello John, Thank you for your email, i have checked our product details and yes they do state that the spring would normally fit most handles - however the image of the spring on our webpage must also be taken into account, as it seems that ours was never going to fit your handles as it was the incorrect shape. “I ordered 2 window catches which were shown as available on the website, however, a few days after ordering I received an email apologising that the items were not available. My money was refunded straight away which was good. I ordered 2 other catches which again were shown as available but again the same thing happened. They did again refund my money but I would have preferred the goods.”

Unfortunately some of our suppliers are having issues with stock availability at the moment and this has become a nationwide issue on certain product ranges. Stocks do come through but can be out of stock again in a matter of days. The Carlisle Brass stays and fasteners that you ordered were in fact quarantined by them due to quality issues, but they will hopefully get these products re-supplied over the next month or so. “Items turned up a day late which caused issues as a carpenter had been booked. Items when received were of a good quality. Would I use them again? Probably not.”

“Handles were basically OK BUT, 1 screw was badly made with no slot and all the handles needed lubrication. The spring back was too strong so I removed one spring from each pair and in doing so the circlip of one immediately broke as it was over-tempered and too brittle. Summing -up, overall good handles let down by details requiring work that should not have been necessary.”

“When placing my order I was given the option of delivery instructions . I asked for it to be left with one of two neighbours and gave their addresses accordingly. When I returned from work I found that the package had been taken back to the royal mail depot . This meant that I had to make a journey to collect it and I now have to make a separate visit to my client to fit the handle set because I left too early the next day to collect it . As a busy Trade's man I cannot wait around for a delivery so trusted delivery options are essential .”

Hi Mr.Gorton, Thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear that your delivery was not left as instructed, however because the order was of small value, you chose it to be sent via Royal Mail, which then makes it a little less flexible on delivery instructions. the majority of our deliveries are made using Interlink or DPD, who offer a 1st class delivery service which informs customers all the way, including the Predict service which is fully controllable by you the customer. Unfortunately it was Royal Mail that was selected on this occasion. We do hope this experience doesn't deter you from using us again, Kind Regards Adam Handles 4 Homes

“Having placed my first order with Handles for homes i was disappointed with the service provided. The company at no point made it clear on their website or when i placed my order that orders placed after the 18th December wouldn't be dispatched until Jan 2016. Having placed my order around this time i was expecting to be in receipt of my order before the end of Dec in order to complete a project. If the company had made this clear i would have purchased my item elsewhere”
