“It was nice to find out that G&S had in stock the bigger carving block which I needed. They were very efficient in despatching it to me. Even though the block I received was the wrong size, they were very helpful in replacing it with the right one without any questions. “First time I had dealt with this company and I was very impressed. I ordered 3 meters of one inch walnut dowel. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. The walnut is smashing and really good to turn and texture. I am making little walnut caps for my Christmas tree acorns. It is perfect.....wish I had ordered another meter. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.”

“Finally got around to purchasing a two handled Pfiel scorp or inshave. A good choice with G&S, it was in stock and the cheapest price around. Even though I didn't pay extra I had a Saturday delivery from DPD instead of the scheduled Monday delivery. It's a beautifully made tool of the highest quality. Although it looks very sharp it does need honing to get a good finish on a chair seat.”

“I bought sycamore dowels from G&S to use as curtain rails. The dowels arrived promptly, were well machined and the wood was of very good quality, above all they were straight. I will be buying more timber from them in the future and would recommend them to anyone else in search of high quality machined timber.”
