We are a family business based in Glasgow, Scotland. From a small start in 2012, we have become one of the UK’s leading suppliers of mountain sports equipment. Our product range has an emphasis on equipment for off-piste skiing/boarding and ski racing.

Renowned for our customer service, we will give each customer our individual attention - if something isn’t right, we’ll do our level best to sort it. Our choice of products is driven by our own experience as mountain sports enthusiasts. If we wouldn’t use it, we won’t stock it.

“I ordered a dakine ski bag for a recent ski trip. I needed the bag the day after ordering and the Gravity Protection website promised next day delivery if I ordered within a hour. I phoned to check this would not be a problem and was assured it would be by noon the next day. I paid £14.99 for the expeditied shipping. Next day I got an email from parcelforce advising delivery between 11-1pm. However the bag never materialised. I tried the tracking all afteroon but all it said was that the bag had been delivered to Coventry. I went on holiday and had to use another bag that I had purchased in error (slightly too long). The bag arrived on the Monday - four days after the order, two if only counting working days. Gravity Protection offered to refund the extra £14.99 shipping I paid for quick delivery, which is really the bare minimum. I asked if they could discout the cost of shipping it back to them (£5 or £10 - not sure what it would be) but they said I would have to pay to send it back. Then I was going to sell the other bag to a friend for £20-30 less than I paid, taking a bit of a hit. I thought this would be a really good solution for everyone. Very disappointed by this as it is only not required becasue they did not fulfill their origial delivery promise - I placed the order in good faith, and whilst the blame is really with parcelforce, the buck stops with them - they made the delivery promise. Such a shame they were not prepared to budge even a tiny bit and take my idea in the manner it was offered. For such a small amount, they have lost a potential lifetime customer as I won;t bother them again after this.”

We’re sorry that your order did not arrive in time for your trip. The parcel was dispatched on time using the next-day service as requested, however there was a delay within the Parcelforce network which meant delivery was one working day later than scheduled. As a gesture of goodwill we refunded the full £14.99 expedited shipping charge you paid. If a customer decides they no longer require an item and wish to return it, our returns policy states that the cost of returning the goods is the customer’s responsibility. This is standard practice for online retailers and is clearly outlined in our terms and conditions. While we understand the situation was frustrating, the item itself was only delivered one working day later than the guaranteed service, and the delivery charge you paid for that service was refunded in full.

“What a joy to deal with a family business. You can actually speak to a person ( who responds to messages very quickly and even a bit outside of business hours). It was my mistake to order the wrong size, but they sorted it within the hour and were so helpful and polite - unlike their huge brand competitors. Very refreshing. I will be back and will be sure to recommend them to the many keen skiers and adventurers I know. Gloves fit a treat and (being Hestra) should be great performers on the French slopes in two weeks… WELL DONE! 😁”
