“this truly dreadful company needs to change its name from ‘grafters’ to ‘drifters’. i hired three labourers and they all failed to show up. when i requested my fee back, the admin person told me i had been supplied with these losers’ contact details and therefore there had been ‘supply of goods and services’. well no, because how are the contact details of lazy, disrespectful losers worth acquiring??? you’re talking to a brick wall and the bricks are made of dust.”

Hi Julian, For only £20 we provided you with the contact details of 3 people so that you would have a choice to fill your job. Unusually none of these people worked out, so we provided a fourth contact for free, who you hired and completed your job. So we were surprised to read such a negative review after we had helped to resolve the situation with you.

Hi Anthony, I am sorry the people you chose didn't work out. The vetting of the applicants is done with past work reviews. I notice that one of the people you hired had bad reviews and the other none. Please leave a review for both of them to feedback to other clients about your experience with them.

Hi Joseph, I am sorry someone let you down. I understand you spoke to our customer support who informed you that £20 allows you to speak to 3 people so you can hire one. This means if someone lets you down you can find a replacement, or even 2, for a small £20 fee.

“Good service in principle but the quality of the actual grafters themselves is low. We hired one and he cancelled on an hour prior to being due in work! Thats poor. And we were reliant on him joining us so it seriously let us down”

Hi Stephen, I am very sorry you were let down. That is not typical of the workers that use grafter. It is the occasional bad apple that let people down. I hope you will give it another go, please look out for workers with good reviews, it is a very good sign they won't let you donwn.

“I called the grafter yesterday to confirm his appointment for today. He answered my call and confirmed. We were a man short in a team of 5. The grafter was a no show, I called him 3 times and no answer. As a result every one was sent home. Hugely dissatisfied.”

Hi Saghir, I am sorry you picked a bad worker. I am afraid no matter how you find people sometimes they let you down. Grafter helps minimise this through the reviews system and our active management of the workers but even then people sometimes let you down I am afraid.

“Your account gets constantly blocked, Grafters do not turn up or come up with Lame excuses, which the platform accept and do not appreciate that you lose time and money being let down then no reimbursement! All they care about is the fee they receive. Most Grafters aren’t as skilled as they say they are and aren’t motivated to work. Do not bother with hiring people off of here. It’s more hassle than it’s worth and your treated like you have done something wrong all the time, account suspended every other day.”

You set-up an account with a fake name and phone number having already been banned form the service. We cannot let people to abuse the system and just set-up a fake account when there are financial transactions involved.

HI Glen, I am sorry you had a bad experience with one particular worker. This is not a typical experience of the service or the many great workers on the platform. We will investigate and if they don't have a good excude remove the worker from the service.

Hi Jaimie, Your account was suspended because you had multiple jobs letting clients down. The job location was on the advert before you applied for it or accepted the job, so that is a poor excuse. We don't recommend people for work who have a bad track record of turning up for jobs.

“This is my first-time proper use. In finding a labourer, it started well, found one labour, offered the job but unfortunately we couldn't agree on some issues the guy cancelled so could not go on to hire. The sad part got to my computer that evening to try another but access was limited on my account. So GRAFTER became unuseful.”

Hi Dan, we are very sorry that happened. no matter where and how your hire people, some will just let you (and us) down from time to time. We minimise this happening on Grafter by actively managing the database and removing people who do this. The reviews also help withn this and I notice this guy didn't have a review, so there was always more risk. Sorry again. GRAFTER

“Honestly all though the service was easy to use I don’t see the point when you agree to a worker then they don’t turn up. You have zero come back and our job was ruined because of it. The grafter just ignored our calls and didn’t contact us before to say he wasn’t interested anymore . There was no time to find anyone else. Will not use again”

Hi Olivia, I am sorry you were let down by someone using Grafter. Like anywhere you could find workers, some people just let you down, and unfortunately Grafter is not immune to that. We take no-shows seriously and immediately remove anyone from the service that does this. Hi Daniel, I see you found a job, but cancelled because of transport problems, after asking the client where the job is and when it starts. You can see the job location and start time on the job description so you know the details before you apply.

“Just found out my account was blocked by grafter because I "posted 5 times and didn't hire anyone" ... sorry to burst your bubble but there are other sites for finding trades too and it wasn't a valid reason for blocking an account. Amateur website poorly managed and with this attitude it explains why they're not getting very far. Disappointed with the response and approach from this website.”

In am afraid we cannot offer the service to people that decide not to pay us for using the service. We completed a review of your account and can see clear evidence you had organised work with people without paying, including directing them where to go while they were on the way to the job.

Hi, your account was suspended for cancelling a job after you were supposed to have started the it. We can't offer work to people that let us or the clients down.

“The two I hired were very poor , lazy and did not have the experience provided on the site . Elliot Stevens was particularly bad and aggressively turned up unannounced at clients house demanding money which he was owed ( I was holding off on paying due to all the damage he did on site . Will not be using again . You need to check people and references .”
