Unfortunately Robert isn’t quite cut out for site work his 2-3 week contract was terminated after only 2 days

Don't allow us workers to comment on the employers. If this was an option it would help next employee from seeing how the employer is.

Grafter need to be more involved with making sure the labourers they are advertising on their site are actually going to turn up and work. There seems to be a standard reply for grafters who cant be bothered to go to work by ticking the ‘Family emergency’ button as I’ve had this response several times from grafters. The concept is good but quality of candidates is poor. I had young lads with zero experience telling me they want £140 per day for pushing a wheelbarrow around. Any business owner or client in their right mind would want evidence of reliability and useful skills but most grafters have poor star ratings because of the ease they feel they can let the buyer down at the last minute, they should be kicked off the site if they miss two jobs or something but I get Grafter would run out of work pretty quick if they did. I think more input and management of the candidates and the relationships between client and worker is needed to ensure a quality service. Finding the right people is difficult these days so thats even more important at the moment.

Hi Wayne, I am afraid people will let you down, wherever you find them for work and we are not immune to that. However our reviews system helps to weed people out, so please make sure you leave them a review to warn others. Also the cancelled job will go on their track record for others to see. When you hire anyone on Grafter at least you can see their past record and reviews, to minimise the risk of hiring someone unreliable, unlike other job boards. Regards GRAFTER
The client’s don’t get back to you

Hi Mark, I see one client didn't get back to you but that's probably because he messaged you on the 15th and you didn't reply until the 28th. So by that time he had already found someone. Generally, the clients are good at responding, this is not a problem anyone else has notified us about before.
How can someone who offered me a job, but didn’t go through with it then be able to write a condemning review about me and I am not able to counter write a review about him. That just put me off in using the platform, moreover those who post jobs hardly ever reply or go through with it and still leave the ad on there and people still be applying for it.

The first person I hired cancelled on the morning the job was due to start. The second person who accepted the job turned up 2 hrs late, did 2 hours work and then left. All attempts to contact him to complete the job or find out what the problem was have failed. Now I’ve received a request to pay this person. Unbelievable.

Hi Kobi, I am sorry you had a bad experience with the workers. This is the first we have heard of it, so we were not able to help. The system asked you for payment because it does not know you cancelled the job. I also noticed you didn't leave a review for either worker you were unhappy with, please do that, otherwise, there is no incentive for them to turn up and do a good job for people like you. You seem to get jobs but when your job offer is accepted the customer does not reply so you don’t end up going to the job which is hard to understand just time wasters

Hi Jack, I see you referring to a job that starts tomorrow, so they may still reply to your chat message. Or they may have a really reason to not be able reply to your message. I tried Grafter 3 times. The first time all went well. The second and third times the grafters didn’t show and gave little to no communication. This left us in a very difficult situation. I like the concept but it’s just too unreliable.

Hi, I am sorry you appear to have very bad luck with the workers you chose. Please make sure you use the review system to check references and also to leave a review if they let you down to warn others.

Hi Daniel, I am sorry you weren't happy with the worker you hired. There is a mix of skills and capabilities across the Grafters, but the online profiles and reviews from past bosses should help make sure you pick the right person. Please make sure you read the reviews for the worker and critically post your own review if to let others know about your experience with the workers.
First choice did not turn up and this is after several attempts at making contact. Second choice did not turn up. So I decided to go the old fashion way and asked friends if they knew someone who could help me. I ended up paying a lot less than I would have paid at Grafter.

I am sorry that Grafter didn't work out for you. I see that you only booked one person not 2 people and you didn't manage to communicate / agree a time with that person. Grafter cost 10% more than you pay the worker. This cover the costs to run the service and the benefits it provides, including the recruitment, contract, online payments, advice & support, invoicing etc
We really loved the concept, soooo needed. However the service is completely let down by the people on the service. Essentially not wanting to do much hard work for the money, or failing to turn up.

Hi, I don't think they were a scammer, but they asked for a deposit which is not how Grafter works. However, we have removed them from the service for not following the process. We are sorry you had this experience which has never happened before or since.
No show from one grater and not much choice

The payment system failed so I had to pay them directly and it was a collosal inconvenience resulting in me missing a meeting. It was an expensive experience as a result. Also you get applicants after the job is finished.

We are very sorry about the payment problem. This was caused by a 3rd party payment provider which, although the problem is now fixed, we are switching away from next week so this will not happen again. There is a 'pause' button to stop applicants when you no longer need them. We will make this clearer to see. Regards Tom
Quality of 'Grafters' poor, first arrived late, second didnt arrive at all. I appreciate you dont dictate who applies but they need to be vetted or have their names removed if they dont show.

I am sorry you didn't have a great experience. I notice the grafter that did turn up, you wrote a review saying he worked well and gave him a 4 star review, so at least he worked out well. On the grafter that didn't turn up, that would, as you suggest, be an immediate removal from the system, but you didn't tell us so we didn't know to remove them. A very nice chap but arrived late on the first day (though did telephone) and then was VERY slow at the manual work though I guess he was used to working in an office so found physical work demanding. The third day he did not turn up at all, he said he had had a car accident, he then said he would not be able to come again (though he was not in any way injured in the accident) Very disappointing as although the work was physical there was no time pressure on him completing it, despite the fact that he was paid by the hour.

Hi, I am very sorry the grafter you hired was a bit disappointing. This is very unusual, but can of course happen. If you are not happy with a Grafters performance you can always stop the job earlier.
Great that I found the job, BUT! Omg how many bugs and weird technical ways this thing has. Seems like a good idea, I have a similar but more social orriented, but just at a starting stage or something like a beta. Needs improvements in quite couple areas.

I hired two people. One was brilliant. Unfortunately the other one didn't respond when l tried to check with him the day before and did not turn up. Since l needed the two l had hired to work together lifting heavy items, this completely let me down. Fortunately l was able to find another person, but this unreliability causes me to question whether l could risk using Grafter again.
