Disappointed is the word I hired two tradespeople from your site, One a plasterer, which clearly wasn't on his first couple of days, so his advertisement on your site was incorrect, but the second tradesman, which advertised as a labourer was 100% accurate.

Hi, thanks for leaving a review. While we do our best to cover the whole of the UK, unfortunately there generally aren't as many jobs in more remote parts of the country, like where you live, than the urban areas. Best Wishes Grafter
I got too many unreliable worker for the job who turn up 4h late on the job

Had 20 number people apply, most didn't turn up, 1 lasted 4 minutes. 2 guys ok, A team said they would take a day it took 3 days. All in all a poor showing and level of worker.

Hi Kenneth, I see you posted 2 jobs. The first one you offered the job to 2 people. Neither accepted the job offer but you had 24 other applicants you could have considered. The second time you hired one person but he cancelled 2 days before the job started. There were 6 other applicants who you could have hired as a replacement. If someone can't make it please do try other people. There are plenty of workers on the platform keen to work.
I can see that the app would work if you are hiring a large volume but for the off job it has been frustrating. 3 credits for £25 is expensive if it’s just a small job and you are let down by the labourers

Can be a little convoluted to use and some of the in-form responses can be a little terse - can't remember the actual wording but something along the lines of 'it looks like you are trying to contact the Grafter direct - could result in you / your job being banned' - when all I was doing was asking where the guy lived so I could pick him up.

Hi Stephen, we are very sorry you had a bad experience with one particular worker. Sometimes individual workers let you and us down, but most are herd working and more diligent than that. Grafter
At first I thought the service looks great, however having used it twice and being disappointed , I can say I wont use the site again! Reason - your Grafters say they can paint and decorate and yes anyone can but the quality is important. Again for any other use plastering, carpentry etc, you don't qualify your people! OK, not everyone needs qualifications, but the referencing needs to be specific even examples of the past work done, photo's etc. Using your people has ended up costing me more money to put things right! I am sure you wont print this review but you should at least make an effort to make changes!

Hi Raj, thanks for your feedback. With Grafter, we don't validate people's skills because we only charge a small fee which would not cover the costs of going on-site to view people's work. However, we do provide a review system so clients can write reviews to help each other understand workers capabilities. You can also view their past work and chat to them online (and ask for references, experience etc) before you hire. Regards Grafter
Its a good platform to find labour if you're happy to do it under a dictatorship. You get treated like a scammer not a customer. My account was blocked twice while trying to talk to potential staff. You can't exchange numbers till you've hired them so have to gauge what they're like through their messenger. Its not till you've hired someone are you made aware you'll be paying an additional 30% on top of what you've just agreed with the employee. Once you're familiar with this its a hand place to find workers.

Hi Stephen, I am afraid we have to have some checks in place to protect our business and ensure people use the system fairly. We can't allow people to just exchange numbers straight away and not use the platform to manage the job. Once interest has been established it is fine to organise a call to discuss details. The fee is only 10%, not 30% as you indicate above. Regards GRAFTER
I’d only say to make an actual app where you can log in and stay logged in and receive messages in real time rather than refreshing the page to know whether you’re hired or got a message or not. So far so good though.

Labourer worked well on Tuesday and Wednesday... however didn' t show today but did advise site foreman. Hopefully he will be in tomorrow.

I used grafter to get a job which I got. Then was told it was cancelled. And had my account restricted ? Have not heard from grafter since. Have found employment for the time being.

Hi Ivor, The job wasn't cancelled, it went ahead and you completed it. We know this because you contacted support to ask where your payment was. However, you were never paid on Grafter, therefore it appears you broke the rules of using the service, so your account was suspended. Handy, but fees are too high to make it viable to use regularly

HI Thom, thanks for the feedback. I am sure you will appreciate it is expensive to recruit and manage good grafters as well as developing and running an online platform, so we have to charge for the service, but we are on average about half the costs of most temp agencies.
I found a few people but the one I hired let me down on the day

Hi Andy, I am very sorry you had a bad worker. Unfortunately people just let you down sometimes, no matter how or where you find them. But with Grafter we actively manage and remove poor workers from the platform to reduce the risk. Also the reviews from other clients help you pick more reliable and better workers. This helps us to provide more reliable people overall.

Very happy with the drafter we used. Payment was a little difficult as one of the pop ups needs a large screen to access. When I requested support it was assumed it was my error, once it was established that it wasn’t, my error rather than sorting the problem I was asked to try again, for the 4th time on a ,high resolution device, they meant bigger screen. The fees for this service should cover the cost of providing good payment mechanisms and non patronising support- some improvement needed

Hi Sue, I am sorry you had a bad experience, there was a problem with the screen which we have since fixed. The larger 'resolution' was our tech lead trying to help with the problem, I am afraid that's just the terminology they use, I don't think he was being patronising. We are rapidly developing Grafter all the time, which is where we spend the fees we make, so we will keep improving...
Seems a great idea and platform functions well. However so far only not had any luck with grafters. Only a few replied to my chat out of 20 approx applicants, finally I booked someone who cancelled on the day due to "sickness". So the grafters themselves don't seem very reliable, however perhaps the job I posted is work that doesn't interest them.

It’s a good site but the payment system is not good - it is not unusual to wait over 7 days for funds - 3 of us have all experienced the same issues with payment over the years

Hi Alex Thanks for your comments. The payment platform recently did an upgrade, which caused a problem with UK payments. This meant payments were delayed this week by a few days. We are told this is now fixed and payments are back to within 1 working day.
