I searched for car insurance and the cheapest quote kept coming back at £49.00 per month, a big increase on the £22 per month I had been paying. When i did a search with several companies without using the go. compare website, I quickly managed to find a quote for £23 per month. Lots of time wasted searching on go. Compare, won't be using them again.

Really poor service. You cannot get your excess money back. I've forwarded all the details via email but want it on letter headed paper!!! so said they couldn't pay out. This is ridiculous!!!!

Topcashback can show the transaction but go.compare rejected it without reasonable explanation. Poor customer service as well! Very frustrating experience

I’m honestly baffled by these good reviews, it’s been over 9 months and I still don’t have my excess payment back. I leave message after message on my portal, and I’ve now sent emails with no reply. It took 3 weeks to be told they couldn’t open a document I attached, which I sent by email 2 weeks ago and guess what …… no reply. I understand everyone is busy but there are months between replies. MONTHS!! Really wish I hadn’t bothered and most definitely won’t bother doing this again or using go compare

Here is yet another bad review of Go.compare.com's free excess cover claim. Apparently if you submit the relevant documents they pay out your excess or get back to you to update you on your claim within 5 days. The reality however is somewhat different, you'll never hear from them again!!!

I took car insurance out through topcashback via gocompare back in February. Surprisingly gocompare have not paid any cashback even though the transaction was pending. If the deal wasn't there surely it should never be pending! It appears it's another rip off from a big company. Sod the normal people who put you where you are.

Go Compare - GO ELSEWHERE! Bought home insurance with a promise of £30 with topcashback and they have refused to pay out on a totally legitimate claim! How can a large company do this to an ordinary man on the street in times of austerity! AVOID!

£38 TopCashback payment was declined after I took my car insurance policy out through them. GoCompare refuse to look into it - if they say no, that's it - you just have to swallow it. My advice is to use a different comparison site if you want cashback.

I compared with this company but now received emails and within the email is no option to unsubscribe instead you have to go to their websit and fill in all your details even date of birth and ask them to stop send emails. Seems to me like this company would be really difficult to deal with in the event of a claim if they are being so difficult with unsubscribing

Tried to claim £250 excess cover after accident. Absolute nightmare. Provided all SAGA insurance details, accident info and repair bill copy. Still wanted more but SAGA say they have given me everything they would normally do. This is a disgraceful rip-off by Gocompare as they seem to block payment by being awkward I have given up trying and writing the £250 off which is probably what they want anyway. Do not be fooled by this bogus advertising ploy.

Was about to buy through GoCompare lured by the excess but after reading the excess pain, decided to no use them. Also decided to send them a "Right to forget" so they dont have my data.

I have started the process of claiming my £95 excess back following a recent claim. 10 days after submission the excess claims department has started giving me the runaround. The email address I've used to submit the claim doesn't match that on the policy apparently, even though every bit of evidential paperwork they requested meets their stated requirements for the £95 excess to be paid back to me. If you're like me and never give up chasing things then go ahead with GoCompare's lure of £250 excess cover. Just be aware that they have departments and people who will put every obstacle in your way to get you to forget about it because it's too much hassle.

Trying to get your £250 Excess claim back is an absolute nightmare they are trying to make it as difficult as possible for your claim to go through I’m still waiting it’s been more than 7 weeks now I think there hoping you will just give up how can go compare get away with this advertising gimmick.😡

I agree with a previous comment about claiming your excess back. It would seem they do everything they can to put you off claiming and everybody you ask for documents don’t seem to know about why you need it. You think you would just need to send the receipt of excess but no that’s not enough, also the people you claim from want the go compare schedule which I asked for but a a don’t accept what they send. Absolutely atrocious, still not settled yet

If you can offer £250 of excess on clams you can make car insurance cheaper for every e which more people would get insurance and less would try defurd your company's.

I received an email on 27 June advising my car insurance was due for renewal that day - it wasn’t it was due 23 July. Wrong date and information given which nearly cost me cancellation fees on my old policy. Very dissatisfied

`Did a GAS / ELECTRICITY search nearly a YEAR ago through your search site,` accepted an alternative quote (`Can`t even remember who "they" were), `was quite exited to be saving several hundred pounds a year. THEN ............................... N O T H I N G ! ! ! What a surprise. `Shame I can`t give 0 stars.
