Update on my claim for £250 excess offer.... After many weeks of the runaround I formally complained to GoCompare and a customer services person reviewed the position and sorted out the claim within 24 hours, which is now due to be paid. I am very thankful for that, but clearly the claim process is not working very well. So overall 3 stars.

Couldn't figure out how to clear my previous car insurance quotes (for which I didn't have the car registration number)when I wanted quotes for a different vehicle (for which I did have car registration number). Couldn't seem to get back to the box where the car's registration number is input. Found the experience very frustrating.

Very good for searching the market, but it does not include all companies, from which keener prices can be achieved. However, I would reccomend it, as it saves a lot of time, and regularly identifies companies with competitive prices.

The vehicle insurance was quite easy to sort out, but house insurance has been a nightmare. Halifax are the worst, upping their price by over 25% from what they quoted. Very annoying after spending over 30 minutes on the phone with them.

Prices not as cheaper than current insurance and with all the adds on it goes up quite a bit. Disappointed

Want to insure a Micra in addition to our Mg ,which is being retired to car shows. But cannot use our NCB, so the smaller Micra quotes at £400 or so , when the MG is only £145 , utterly ridiculous.

Chose a company through Go Compare which was a reasonable quote. Went through the process of setting up payments and direct debit with the insurance company. I made a deposit to the insurance company and as it finished, their site crashed. I checked my account and the money had been taken. I phoned the company who informed me the insurance had not gone live as I’d not bought it. After spending half a day waiting and chasing info, they phoned me back the next day to tell me they had found the payment. By this time I’d already gone with an insurance company that wasn’t on a compare site. I’m now awaiting a refund, if they remember.

Getting old and not so bright I found it difficult to answer all the questions correctly - thisis entirely entirely my fault . In the end I gave up and more or less accidently I have been offered insurance elsewhere, leaving some unfinished rubbish behind with you.

i looked for a car insurance on Saturday which was £225. my renewal was sent to me on Sunday which was above this price. I looked again on Monday at go compare and all values had gone up by £25+. how on earth can the figures change by so much when every thing is the same?

You quotes shown do not match those from the insurers which means I have ended up paying more than quoted on your website

Your analysis cost wise of the car insurance brokers etc was satisfactory. However the broker / insurance co. after an insurance certificate had been sent to me unknown to me cancelled my insurance . This only came to light when the MIB licensing agency stated a few months late that I did not have insurance cover !! When approached the insurance broker/ co stated they had requested further information by e mail to myself and my wife. ( never received) Since I had not replied they cancelled the insurance after a couple of weeks without informing me and keeping the years premium . When approached they offered a partial refund. On stating I was taking legal advice on potential fraud this was increased by £40 On advice of a family member ( a solicitor } I accepted this . I then used GO compare to find another insurance company who have taken my years subscription but I am awaiting documentation. Owen Davies

OK for Insurance comparison quotes; very lengthy online procedure; not quick; technical collapse of Lloyds & M&S sites when went to them for more details !!! : also I was phoned afterwards by a GoCompare rep who asked me ALL of the same insurance application questions again !! this took 23 minutes of my valuable time ! Then he had the cheek to transfer me to some idiot at an insurance intermediary (A...F... )who wasted another 15 minutes and we got nowhere. In the end i managed to access Post office where I finally got some help. EXPLAIN HOW I GET MY £250 EXCESS WHEN THE TIME COMES THAT I MIGHT NEED IT ??
