“Signing up was very simple and didn't take long. The wording in what is included is very straight forward and made easy to see exactly what is included and what isn't. Haven't used the breakdown recovery of it yet, but fingers crossed it is as simple as the signing up process.”

“Have just joined GEM Motoring Assist following detailed research on what is deemed the best service available in the UK. My rating is based solely on my joining customer experience thus far as I have not actually used the breakdown service itself. In summary, I found the joining process very simple and they provided all required info in simple terms rather than via complex small print that is often delivered by insurance policy companies.”

“Quick and easy sign up, the real test is if I am unfortunate enough to need assistance, Picked Gem because the cover will include my classic car as well as my every day transport.”

“I searched on Google for the best breakdown company. I have rated Gem Motoring Assistant as "good" on the basis of their annual quote. However, I have never used their services so can not comment any further.”

“I am new to GEM and chose you because of price and excellent review by Auto Express to which I subscribe. The only reason I do not give a 'very good' score is because I have 3 vehicles including a classic. I like the look of your more expensive option (which I have chosen) but in your review it seems it would be better with the reclaim option for the classic. It would be better if I could choose a garage of my own for the classic & not have to go to the nearest available at the time if roadside assistance cant sort it and only reclaim up to £70 for transporting the car to my own choice. An extra cost for this would be acceptable. So, in essence it seems one policy is best for an everyday vehicle and one better for a classic. I, like many, have both.”

“After 46 years of being an AA member, we are finally moving! Fed up of constantly being over-charged and having to haggle for a cheaper deal each year - with little success. We barely used their services yet the yearly fee never reflected this. GEM fee is more than half what we were quoted for by the AA for a less comprehensive service. Have we been helping to give AA shareholders a b bigger dividend each year? We shall see this year whether GEM's service is as good as promised.”
